My own daughter is a gymnast (nowhere near this level I should point out) so I get the elements needed to do this kind of skill. And from what I can see the only thing that cost them a 1st place was a minor wobble. Yeah that's skill, hard training, strength, determination, co-ordination and trust. Furthermore I would even go so far as to say anyone who can't see that might themselves be high.

@@melonsauce1474 Now these girls are everywhere. If you watch her routine, there was nothing innovative or special about it at all. The guys doing the heavy lifting and controlling the balance, timing and coordination- that's the hard part. There are likely a few dozen girls of this level in every college town, but only a few precision dudes strong enough that can do this without getting someone injured or maimed. It's a tough and unforgiving job. Basically most of these girls are doing nothing new or overly impressive.

My niece was a high school cheerleader. She had to take gymnastic lessons, dancing lessons, and weight training to stay in tip top shape. Respect to all the cheerleaders out there. The cheerleader in the video is the best I have ever seen! She is amazing!

Absolute sniper @commodoren64! His mom was quoted in an interview about his dedication, "they would practice for hours, but that wasnt enough for him. After each practice he would rush home just to spend hours locked in his room, running through the routines mentally and even what had to be acting his marks as if she was there by the noises he would be making and how he would come out drenched in sweat! so dedication? I would say I've never seen anybody spend more time or want something more than my son wants what he knows in his head is already his!"

@@JohnSmith-oy2so no I just appreciate the dedication and training that it takes to achieve this level of excellence. My own daughter is a gymnast (nowhere near this level I should point out) so I get the elements needed to do this kind of skill. And from what I can see the only thing that cost them a 1st place was a minor wobble. Yeah that's skill, hard training, strength, determination, co-ordination and trust. Furthermore I would even go so far as to say anyone who can't see that might themselves be high.

This girl is so adorable and very athletic...but can we talk about the strength this man has. They are perfect together like the beauty and the beast.
As a former two-time CIF Champion, a UCA NHSCC Champion and UCA & UDA College National Champion, who understands the skill and dedication this requires, I can honestly say this was very impressive. Top-notch all the way, much respect to all three of you, really great job.

@melonsauce1474 I realize that it's a dual effort of precision and strength. I'm not missing that point. It's just much easier to focus on what she is doing than what he is doing. It's like looking at a magnificent building. Everyone oos and ahhs at the building, forgetting about the very foundation that holds it up.

@@melonsauce1474 Now these girls are everywhere. If you watch her routine, there was nothing innovative or special about it at all. The guys doing the heavy lifting and controlling the balance, timing and coordination- that's the hard part. There are likely a few dozen girls of this level in every college town, but only a few precision dudes strong enough that can do this without getting someone injured or maimed. It's a tough and unforgiving job. Basically most of these girls are doing nothing new or overly impressive.

My niece was a high school cheerleader. She had to take gymnastic lessons, dancing lessons, and weight training to stay in tip top shape. Respect to all the cheerleaders out there. The cheerleader in the video is the best I have ever seen! She is amazing!

Ngl, I’ve watched these type of cheerleading videos for years and every time I grow more and more confused and amazed at what’s happening. Like, just the timing and synchronization of it all and how the hell can a guy hold one person’s entire weight on one arm. It’s so freaking cool.

CRAZY amount of skill involved in this 😭 really is one of the hardest sports in the world to master imo
Much of the movement is enabling him to use momentum as strength, but those other movements and the fixed positions are timing and muscle. Congratulations, kids !!!
