I had a Tilley T3 cotton duck hat. Wore it for over a year. It went with me all over the world. Loved it. Posted many reviews and Instagram pics and reviews. However, my hat was “lost”, stolen from my car, and Tilley refused to honor their replacement warranty. They would not even discount my purchase of a replacement. Very disappointing. i had my name and contact info in my hat, but 5 years later now, no one has come forward or returned my hat. I wanted to get another Tilley T3 hat, but because of the way they blew me off with no warranty offer, I replaced it with a Shelta Hat, more features and 20% cheaper. Still, I wish I had my Tilley hat, but apparently their warranty is worthless, at least in my experience.

Yes Grover, I have heard that people have started to see a downturn in the famed Tilley customer service of old. That’s a real pity.

Was your hat registered with Tilley? If not they don’t just replace hats based on people saying they had one. I am sure anyone would see how that would be a disaster. So. Was your purchase registered?

@@smokingxgunx Yes. It was registered. I was told they would not replace it or discount a replacement if I ordered one. Not only was it registered, I had years of pics posted of me wearing it on FB and IG where I did way too much free advertising for them. Oh well. Learned that lesson.

Nice!! Still love mine too. Wore it for a week in the desert in Palm Springs. Worked out great.

Great video BTW some of us nickname this hat the "Face Hat". When you hold the big air holes facing you...it looks like a face...

Ha! That’s very true.

Got mine a few days ago, 7 5/8:size. Love the quality but not used to a loose hat. Might have to go 7 1/2. It fits like they say,with two fingers room. Wearing it the rest of the week at work to decide.

So I ordered a new TLM6 Aero and it does not have the iconic label in the crown. I thought it was a mistake so I called Tilley customer service and they told me that they no longer put that label in their hats. Sad, very sad!

If your Tilley hat isn’t an endurable lifetime guaranteed hat then you won’t have the guarantee label in the crown

One thing you didn't mention about Tilley hats. If you get the correct size they feel like an old favorite right out of the box. No "break in period" required.

hoosierarcher quite true, indeed. Sizing is important and I did find that the correct size for me varied a bit by the type of Tilley Hat. So it's important not to assume that the size you wear in one Tilley will be the size you should wear in another. But once you have the right size they are perfect out of the box.

Friendly tip mate. :) This video was uploaded with a max resolution of 240p. You can check your camera settings, or your video editing software export settings to increase the quality. 720p would be considered a minimum in 2017.

Hi Chris. Just received my new T3 . It's a back up hat to an old natural colour one I've had for years. The new one has a washed denim look to it, not nice and dark and crisp like yours. Gone are the maple leaf press studs, all the brassware is in a subdued brown finish (hope it still is quality brass under there) no velcro closure for the secret pocket and no owners manual. Still a great hat but I hope it's not the start of a slippery slope since Alex Tilley sold the business.

Update.... Just checked my order. In my haste to get it at a great price I ordered the" Vintage Olive" option hence the washed look with subdued brass.

I think the regular T3 still has the Maple leaf on the press studs. Maybe the Wanderer has the same hardware as the " Paddlers " hat - smooth press studs. I know Tilly are changing their label to a smaller more modest looking one and omitting the velcro. Still great quality but I also like the older bigger label.

I would love to have a Tilley hat... but not in the budget!.. 😒

Hike Camp yeah, they are not cheap hats. I like them a lot but honestly there are less expensive hats that will also do a very good job for you.

Was everyone's sizing close to the catalog? I measured 61cm and it says to order a 7.5 on their site. I know it depends on brand and model. One 7.5 hat I have is snug, the next perfect.

Not all Tilley hats are made in Canada !!!! My air flow Tilley was made in CHINA !!!!
