the idea is, it is for people that are underage. it can control what they can buy from the specific store. instead of giving them straight money which can be used to buy something like Porn or drugs (Overexagerated you get my point). Also sometime people use it because it have a discount like 50$ coupon but you pay 45$, or you are an employee of said establishment and you can buy the gift card on discount.

I mean, his comebacks weren't spectacular. Could've easily thought about them prior or heard them somewhere, and saved them for future use. Context is what makes a brilliant comeback. And I sensed that he was kinda salty to the second guy, cos he actually was trying to stall.
