The Pescatarian Diet of Kron Gracie, MMA Fighter

Ойын-сауық

On this episode of FUEL, we try to keep up with jiu-jitsu and MMA fighter, Kron Gracie. Meat free for more than a year, Gracie’s diet is anything but typical for a fighter. Follow along as Kron fuels himself through the brutal days of training that have made him so dominant on the mat.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, into the legendary Gracie family, fighting came second nature to Kron. He followed in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps, advancing through the ranks of jiu-jitsu before his MMA debut in 2014.
Known for keeping his cool under pressure, Kron earned his nickname “Ice Cream Kron,” but you’d be hard pressed to find this fighter snacking on ice cream these days. He relies on light, natural snacks and lots of liquids to power himself through daily mini-triathlons, followed by hours of leading his students through jiu-jitsu training - all before eating his first solid meal of the day.

I watched this video 2 years ago when I was overweight, drinking alcohol, smoking and living very unhealthy life. I was 21 but could not run 100 meters without shortness of breath. Until then, living the life in the edge seemed cool, but after watching this video his way of life seemed so cool to me that I thought "Damn, I want to be like him". It took more than a year to execute that dream but I have been living healthy, training everyday and eating good food since last year. This video, among others, was one of my main inspirations.

@@primaleskimo2657 choice of diet depends on your goal. Keto + Intermittent fasting is the best way to lose weight, obviously with a calorie deficit. Nowadays I do high-protein diet for building muscle, but also eat enough carbs for being more energized in the gym. In overall, I eat chicken breast, eggs, greek yoghurt/cheese and vegetables every day. Sometimes I do 48 hours water fast, to give my body a rest, which is also very effective for weight loss. I do it 1 or 2 times per month. To simply put, first rule of healthy diet is to cut alcohol, sugar and all other bad carbs(bread, pastry and stuff like that). As each person different, other aspects of the diet may vary.

He's not buying a ton of other crap. A fancy salad, a nice sushi, some sport drinks, that seems to be all he eats, based on the video. If all I had in my diet was gatorade, supplements, and two square meals, I would also spend extra cash on juice.

Ive basically tried most of these eating techniques of small light meals a day eating every 2 hours and felt great but somewhat weak and slow until i started eating allot after and noticed improved speed and strength, kinda like a boxer after making weight. Also tried that 1 big meal a day felt fine and`strong, muscle mass didn't increase like i hoped, but felt strong and got stronger. Now i am doing the heavy protein meals boiled eggs and turkey bacon and just eating what i please, but not going crazy and just eating a piece of chocolate cake or ice cream cookies and i feel great and is gaining muscle mass and losing weight getting cut, so it's working, 3 days a wee,k 3 hours of weight lifting and martial arts training, with no problem and when i need extra rest i take 1 or 2 or 3 days off, i guess what works for you and what you like will work , everyone's body isn't the same and different things work for different people.

Just turned 24, I've been living similarly for about 2 years now, the change was slow but I noticed how I would feel after every meal and found that eating highly nutritional food in smaller amounts made me feel better, I eat alot of veggies fruit and meats/ fish, I eat very little carbs as they cause me massive inflammation in my back when I work out. My key difference tho is I heavily rely on my meat/fats for calories and energy and the sugars i get usually get burned up so fast it doesn't support me for long
