Let's be honest......eating pounds of dry precooked chicken breasts reheated in the microwave gets a lot more boring and unappetizing faster than protein shakes do.

It's convenient if you don't cook at all like me. Sometimes at the end of the day I check my macros and I'll have hit my carbs and fats for the day but still have 40g of protein to hit. Personally that's when I would find a whey shake convenient. Just mix it with water and chug it down like medicine.

Lift Heavy Weights no it wouldn't taste better. I personally need to eat chicken breast with sides fatty or carby sides. If it's plain chicken breast I might as well drink a shake. That's just my personal preference. I actually don't use shakes anymore because I manage to fit my macros perfectly with food and on the days that I don't it's no biggie

most of protein powders are quick to mix in a cup with milk to give milk a good flavor...25 gr of whey protein cost less than 1 euro...I personally find them convenient compared with other source of protein...

Of course other source of protein from whole food must be primary in a diet and you can get away perfectly without using powders a making gains but throwing here and there a shake can be helpful and again considering the cost for gram of protein they are convenient ....

Idk man a 2 scoop protein shake takes seconds to make and drink which is giving you roughly 50g of protein. Versus making 50g of protein in food takes a lot longer to prepare and eat.

Lift Heavy Weights that's a stupid question. With that logic, why drink or eat any sort of protein?

For me eating on the go and then wash your dishes is not as easy as drinking on the go and rince the shaker. Taste is purely subjective and I personally enjoy my protein shake. I guess it just depends on the person. However I do agree with the marketing side of your arguments and eating too much protein

Andrea Bono you need to keep it cool, but I agree you can more easily eat it on the go. It's almost like a protein shake in a way if you can keep it cool

I'm married with 2 you kids and the sole breadwinner for the family. Consequently 80% of my workouts are at 5 AM after waking at 4:30. Training fasted didn't work for me so I throw half a scoop of whey, 25g of oats, some flax, and some cinnamon in a mixer the night before. I slam that with coffee first thing and feel much better lifting. I'd prefer two eggs, toast, and some vegetables, but no way I could squeeze that in the morning. I do meal prep all my other meals though.

I do most of my cooking on sundays, usually chicken breasts, lentils, beans and shit like that. I portion all of it out in zip-bags and freeze it and I have a lot of food for the next week. But I still consume protein powders, but not a lot. I just like them.

I'm a big fan of your videos, but I gotta say you missed the mark a bit on this one. I love the alternative suggestions you provided in this video, but I gotta say that those are still not necessarily as convenient for everyone as protein shakes. I totally agree with you that excessively high protein diets are not necessary, but I still find protein shakes incredibly convenient for me to get to an appropriate level of protein. In addition, I find them delicious and I have never gotten sick of them. I'm sure there are some people like yourself who don't find them as palatable, but that is just your opinion. Personally, I tend to get tired of things like chicken breast much more easily than protein shakes. I'm not saying this to try to sound insulting, but it is clear that you are letting your personal biases strongly influence your opinion on this topic. I know plenty of medical professionals who advocate using protein shakes as a supplement for people who have a hard time otherwise consuming adequate sources of lean protein throughout the day.

At the end of the day, this one just comes down to a matter of personal preference. For you protein shakes may not be as convenient or taste that good, but that doesn't make it a myth for everyone.

Hey jason, whats your thought on people using Tapeworms as a dieting method?

  • @DraguVert

    @DraguVert

    7 жыл бұрын

Tapeworms Reduce Calories The idea is that introducing tapeworm into the body means that the food you eat is split between your own body and that of the tapeworm. You are a host and tapeworm uses you by attaching suckers to your stomach and feeding on the foods that you eat. To expel calories, we are usually required to expend energy through exercise as an example. The tapeworm is an additional means of reducing the amount of calories that you absorb WITHOUT reducing the calories that you consume. Supporters of the tapeworm will praise this idea of dieters being able to eat whatever they choose to eat while still losing weight.

You can cook on Sunday as most people don't work over the weekend and cook for 1 week or 2 and freeze everything... you just need a couple minutes to defrost the cooked food and... boom, all the protein and carbs you need without spend hundreds a month on garbage foods like protein shakes

Jason: They say we should take at least 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. Here's my question, 1. Is that per pound or kilogram? 2. Is it per pound/kg of actual or desired bodyweight? 3. Or is it per pound/kg of lean bodyweight?

when i started to take in 150gr + of protein a day i felt ill and sick, kinda like i was nausated... and it didnt help with ANY gains, quite the contrary actually, i felt weaker and felt like it wasnt helping with any muscle growth. when i started to get in around 120 or so grams i felt much better, i dont see how some people injest 200-300 grams protein a day, makes me want to throw up thinking about it

I might get worse economy in real life which im not worried about, but looked on the protein bags i got in real and just realised 1 thing which should been obvious to me but probaly just not paid attention to it. 1kg/2,2lbs of protein powder i buy has 3980kcals on it and since i buy 16kgs/35,2lbs every time to stock up and get cheaper price. Buying that amount makes every 1kg/2,2lbs cost me 120kr which is our value in sweden. :P For that amount of money i could buy a 1kg/2,2lbs bag of frozen chicken leg/hip and that cost 35kr or just buy 2 for 70kr which still leaves me with 50kr i can use for rice/pasta/potatoes and so on. I think a 1kg/2,2lbs bag of frozen chicken leg/hip should easily have 2000kcals in it so just for 35kr so i would get 4000kcals from both bags and still save 50kr. Yeah so soon these protein powder bags are over im going old school again and just eating food. Protein powder is not worth it calorie way and even in protein way you can get enough protein by just eating food. I guess i just got lazy and coulden't bother to make food and took the easy way out and replaced food with protein powder. But so soon these bags gone, no more protein powder.
