    Wasn’t there a meta-analysis done by Menno Henselmens that showed .82g/lb even on a cut was enough to preserve lean mass?

    If taller lifters should keep their hips higher when deadlifting, do you still use the method of squatting down looking forward to find ideal hipheight?

    How should I keep tightnesss when squating? When i deadlift i can brace correctly, but i cant seem to get the same tightness when squatting even lighter weight.

    could someone cut by keeping calories the same and just increasing cardio to like 3 hours a day? seems like it'd be easier to get the absurd proportion of protein needed when cutting if your caloric intake didn't have to go down significantly

    Jason, on the bench press I lose tightness after my first rep. The first rep feels nice and tight but after that my upper back and shoulders dont feel tight. Any cues or suggestions?

    Breath and rebrace at the top as you start each eccentric rep.

    With those high protein requirements when cutting would that still be the same for someone only trying to cut to around 14-15% rather than 12% or below?

    That lower end of 2.2g/kg/bw would still be a very good idea as a minimum.

    If you have not had a dexa scan you do not know your LBM.

    @@JasonBlaha yes I agree, I was just wondering because I found a site that reference Helms recommendations and it meationed based on LBM. But I would have thought most people wouldn't know that like you said.

    I have no dexa scan to confirm it, but in my experience i get better results with 1.8 - 2 g of protein per kg of bodyweight rather than an higher intake, and keeping the carb pretty high. But I'm over 15% bf

    Jason, I haven’t done serious lifting in around a year due to pandemic. My numbers before were around 80kg bench, 130kg squat, 150kg deadlift all for 5 reps. But I could just about bench 60kg in my first session back, I was gutted. Would u advise getting back on ICF 5x5 kinda like starting from scratch?

    Jason , on your morning bison & rice , how many grams of rice is that ? I eat bison also as I find it digests much better for me than ground beef.

    No idea on the grams. I do 1 dry cup of rice with my breakfast. It was egg white and bell peppers in it today. I'm cutting right now and the bison would be too many fat calories.

    Ok thanks - I’ve boiled rice from using cup size so I definitely know the quantity. Also, I like the idea of adding peppers for flavor.

    I remember reading some Nasser interview that surprised me because he said in his maintenance and growing "phases" he used to get around 130 grams of protein a DAY.

    @@felipefranca6668 there is multiple interviews where he stated 100-150 more than enough. Although he said it was enough for him and his type of genes. Also it's not like in those interviews try to downplay his protein use amd gear use to. In the same interviews it sound like for gear in his opinion "more is better"

    I generally believe protein companies came up with these huge protein intakes, look at Jim Stoppani he promotes 1.5- 2g for 1lb of bodyweight that ridiculous, I think you made a video on it years ago

    Yeah it's way for companies to make more money. Not to say protein supplements are inherently bad, but average person does not need 300-400 grams of protein a day, especially when not on a strict diet.

    @@johnsmith7759 Yeah I don't think they really need that many either. Carbs or fats are probably more important at a certain point. And water intake etc.

    What kind of safe guards against muscle loss do you have if you're on a fairly high dose of try indefinitely. Like 200 mg of test c weekly?

    Keep in mind that is not even remotely in the ballpark of what most enhanced lifters use on a cut. However it will give you some benefits here and particularly will prevent you from having low test as a result of your cut. Keep your protein high.

    I only get about 125 grams of protein a day and still can do chin ups with 70 lbs and incline 100 kilograms for some reps. When I was on a diet, I was on more protein, though. A lot of people think just because I workout that I must eat nothing but protein.

    My channel is not for the general population. It is for people seeking high levels of strength and performance. No one cares what most people do. No the average American eats less protein than serious athletes. You are confusing FAT and protein.

    You would have to confuse the two because the average American do not eat anywhere near the protein recommendations I made for lifters here. Americans eat a very high fat diet, not a high protein diet.
