@Too Much Was Seen Yes old ancient Brittany , probably before the roman invasion. In the legend those lands were on either side of the channel, hence the name of Bretagne on the french side. Camelot and king Arthur were on the english side but Merlin came from Bretagne. ...The most beautiful thing in these ancient time the Channel was called la mer intérieure, the middle sea ....isn't that beautiful ? What a loss ...

Though Tennyson’s lyrical ballad is based on Arthurian Legend, it is important to remember that the English are the descendants of both the Germanic Anglo-Saxons, and the Celtic Britons. Hell, the Scottish have quite a bit of Anglo-Saxon blood, at least in the Lowlands, and this harkens back to the ancient Anglian Kingdom of Northumbria. The Welsh and Cornish have Anglo-Saxon ancestry as well, granted a lesser amount than the English. The Norsemen-the North Germanic cousins of the Anglo-Saxons-also contributed to the ancestral make up of the British. Such a rich Faustian heritage. The theatrical and literary tradition of the Scots and English, rivaled even that of the Ancient Romans and Greeks. The British are one of the brightest jewels in the crown of European, Western civilization. They must wake up, and save their land, as well as their souls.

English is the most expressive, most beautiful language on planet earth. Inspired by an heavenly landscape, loved and tended by Christians for over 15 centuries. Now their faith is dying by choice and being replaced by foreign God and the land the Real English Loved and cherished is, bit by bit, being given away, the rest being sold for an handful of gold. While we sit aside and watch.

  • @Evan_Bell

You recognise that the Christian god is a foreign god, right? It is the same god worshipped by those who are replacing us, and by those who are orchestrating said replacement.

It is for sure a truth that we stand on the shoulders of giants. Be it by sword or by pen we produce works of inspiration. There is such beauty in literature, the eloquence and magic of such spoken in verse, to me at least offers some sanctuary from the madding crowds. Like the virtues being the armour of God against inequity then surely the wholesome word affords protection from the corruption our now poisonous societies force us to imbibe. Beautifully read. Thank you 🌸🤍🌸

Loreena McKennitt does this to music (worthily, it’s here on YT) and it brings me to tears. But then, I’m a soppy guy. I’m not surprised it’s Tennyson, a great. See also: The Highway Man of hers. Whoever wrote it it’s bodice-ripper-tier melodrama, but I love that song, too. Very skillful poet, whoever he was.
