The Gone Girl Kidnapping

When Denise Huskins was kidnapped, her boyfriend Aaron Quinn went to the police, but they didn't believe him. Even when Denise was released and told her story, the Vallejo Police Department told the media, it was all fake. Unfortunately, it wasn't.

Yes! I get that the police are sceptical when they are told stories that are literally unbelievable, but they HAVE to keep their suspicions to themselves and investigate none the less. If law enforcement don't officers don't respect the concept of "innocent until proven guilty in a court of law", they have no business enforcing the law at all. Going in front of the cameras and proclaiming that people are guilty and defaming them just to get their own 15 minutes of fame is beyond disgusting. People who double and triple down on their mistakes when they have been proven wrong...? To me, that just exposes them as the pathetic and cowardly slime they are.

Former Benicia & Vallejo resident, I avoided Vallejo at all costs. The town is known for high crime. The most felonies in Solano County come from Vallejo and Fairfield. Vallejo is known for single parents raising feral kids. It creates a cycle of poverty and a cycle of violence. Too many gang and wannabe gang members. Vallejo is considered the worst City in Solano County. Mare Island is nicer because it more expensive and somewhat isolated from the heart of the town. I feel sorry for Vallejo residents. What do you suppose is the difference between Benicia and Vallejo given they border each other? One City is nice and the other crime ridden.

I had no idea the police would not believe me until my release from the hospital. I described the scene and the people who were pulling into their driveway behind the abducter’s vehicle. They were able to identify the hood of my coat which was shoved against the rear seat window, the time and the vehicle. When the detectives returned to the car they told me, “We didn’t believe a word you said. We thought it was a boyfriend…..” Beat half to death, they thought I was lying. I was horrified. @@ReeAllTheFirst THAT explains everthing. I'm convinced Jiles had no intention of 'starring' in his wonderful series. I find It detracts from the narrative too. He's not vain, and well knows that mystery adds extra spice to his stories. Brave of him, and totally honest. Thank you Jiles❤

Thank you for telling us of this horrible incident, an shedding light on just how the Police can fail us when we need them most. I'm glad they finally got some kind of apology, an a attempt to clear their good names. Though I know the hurt is still there. Detective Mustard should have stuck to board games, an stayed out of the police academy.

This case has always baffled me. The police mistreatment of the couple, the mentioning of the similarities to the ex and new gf and noone investigating that aspect, the crucifixion by media due to police false narrative.... Im so glad they were able to move forward as a couple and have a beautiful family. They are a power couple and i hope ine day they get that apology from mustard who thought it was a game of cluedo

Amazing how their tunnel vision was SO BAD even the KIDNAPPERS got frustrated and risked showing evidence that would reveal them to set the case straight. DISGUSTING. I shouldn't end a case like this being more furious at the police than I am at the monsters who did this to the victims.

About Vallejo. I was a police reserve there in the 80s, I do not know any of law enforcement personnel involved as I left in 88. Vallejo PD used to attract the best officers, in the late 80s to mid 90s the department had a strong POA-police officer association (union). Vallejo had in its labor contract it would be one of the highest paid police departments in the State Of California. Police departments across the State used Vallejo PD’s pay package as a guide in their owner contract negotiations. Their retirement and benefits package was excellent - the gold standard. Within a City once the police had a great contract all the other City unions used them ask their bench mark for City contracts. Thus the fire department received great contracts, public works, office staff and so on. Vallejo attracted the best candidates for police officer during the late 80s and early 90s. Vallejo used to be a nice town with the Mare Island shipyard active, closing the shipyard took away a huge portion of well paying jobs. There was white flight in the late 80s and 90s. People buying homes in Vallejo commuted elsewhere due to it being the most affordable housing market. Residents often left the town for social activities and shopping due to crime within the city. This impacted the city’s tax base. Vallejo’s problems snowballed. The doom loop started where myself and friends avoided the town to go out to eat or see a movie. Instead of driving 10 minutes to Vallejo for shopping, dinner or a movie, we drove 30 for a safer environment. Vallejo’s tax base could not sustain the police department’s or other city departments contracts. Officers retired in the early 2000s or left due to the city’s financial crisis. By 2008 the City declared bankruptcy. Restructuring labor contracts. It went from having the top police labor contract to terrible contracts for officers, instead of attracting the best candidates they got left over candidates other departments did not hire. Vallejo has significant crimes issues, it’s not a nice city to be a police officer. Since 2005 they have had a number of officer involved shootings at a higher rate than equally sized departments. Since 2008 there have been several Police Chief’s, and the last one you showed Shawnee is now gone too. They have been under investigation by DOJ for violating civil rights, but make no mistake about it the problem is some citizens commit the most felonies in Vallejo and it has been that way for four decades. Both can be true the department has violated rights, but the many residents are violent. That is why in the mid-80s I went to a safer city and department. My point, the department no longer attracts the cream of the crop in police officer candidates. It has a bad reputation for pay, high crime, and poor support from the City and department as a whole. The Police Chief turnover illustrates a problem within the City and Department. The other notorious Monster from Vallejo is the Zodiac- who started his crime spree there.

This reminds me of how the psychic woman was treated by the LAPD. Just look up Etta Louise Smith. When you see what they tried to accuse her of and what all happened, it's both eye rolling and infuriating. This is why people don't trust the police. I feel so awful for this couple. She was SA'ed then basically told she was a liar. I understand needing to be skeptical because we have all seen where people actually have lied for various reason, but you still need to take it seriously until proven otherwise. I think this is a good example of why things are under reported. Who wants to be revictimized by people that can abuse their power and make it even more traumatic. Anyone wanting to know why DV victims don't report anything, here ya go. Also watch the Beyond Evil - The Spine-Chilling Story Of Matthew Terry. I want people to see how the first woman was treated in court.
