    Can everyone please just admire the intelligence of Rich Froning in his decision to jerk the weight straight up and hold it with a narrower grip, than a typical snatch grip. The intelligence and ability to squat the weight in a highly discomforting position is something that we should be in awe of and is worthy of him winning his 4th straight title. Also, notice the control with which he descended on his rope climbs, given the fact that many others chose to crawl their way down. Brilliant.

    I was thinking the same thing with the rope decent, I'm assuming it has to do with his time as a firefighter. The ropes looked about the thickness, maybe slightly smaller, than a pole.

    Just realized that 2:54:16 is the moment that Noah referred to in the most recent "2016 Road to the Games" piece, where he said Froning told him that "it's yours now". Froning's wife (Hillary) destroyed Noah in social media after these games for sharing that story. The crazy thing is at 2:54:19 you can hear Noah say, "yes sir" in response to what Rich said to him! ...so Noah wasn't making it up! Poor guy!

    From 2:45:30 begins the part of the top athletes. They hear what to do. Then they realize they have to do it twice. At 2:46:15 we can se Rich Froning's face. He says yes with his head. He wins here in this moment. All the others are in doubt. At 2.46.28 Fraser, who could win, is shaking his head, saying no. He lose here at this very moment.

    The best part that I see about these Games is the argumentative disagreements of specific groups of athletes (Olympians, strong men, track stars, etc.) and the fact that it will make crossfit grow. If there is such a debate and concern about what crossfit athletes do then the strong men, olympians, track stars, and whoever else will eventually compete for the games. I mean really if it's not really the "Fittest Man on Earth" title than any major athlete should be able to compete no problem. It's not necessary to train for crossfit apparently and you can be really good at deadlift or just really strong but not flexible (both key to being fit and athletic by the way). The real questions becomes what are the standards to being fit? If you have the answer and they differ from what was shown above or throughout the crossfit games then please reply and list them below.

    Wish they'd come out with a list of drugs everyone has access to and is permitted to take, so that they don't have to claim natty when not a single competitor is in fact. It takes away from the incredible accomplishment of these men when half the viewers turn away saying "I could do that if I was on drugs like them." or "it doesn't count, because he cheated by taking gear". People need to open their mind, not a single noteworthy accomplishment in pro sports has been achieved natty for decades,... so what? Just level the playing field and give everyone access to the same stuff.

Actually, some of those guys are only a little bigger than me. But when the women came out with those huge lats and delts, I just lost my suspension of disbelief. I've known a few female bodybuilders and girls just can't get that big without some RX help.

  • @eschelar

    @eschelar

    9 жыл бұрын

    Marco Brotto Yeah and the rest of the stuff they are doing is safe and healthy... To be fair, a certain level of PED can be used safely. It's just that they often aren't. Nor is the intent behind their use always to be safe. Some people would rather be big than alive. But the primary reason they aren't allowed is not because they are unsafe and unhealthy. There are plenty of legal enhancement methods that are plenty unsafe at certain quantities.

    thought WIll Moorad hit that over head squat, was def low enough for a rep compared to other athletes, these judges are just too inconsistent,

    throwing the bar behind the back after a lift its... a no rep... as said in regionals and games judges... rich got a rep... just saying he is the best but... that would have been a no rep

    Uhhh... I think it was a little unfair in favor of Rich. I mean come on - that guy literally walks normally daily holding a barbell over his head. Had it been a different event maybe someone had a closer chance.

    shogrran because Dave Castro is close to Rich, and also realized how it would benefit the games and the profit if Rich won 4 times in a row on his last competition.

    Rich Froning has more muscle mass than the best body builders in the world had pre steroids, and he has that without focusing on muscle mass. his FFMI is over 26 while the accepted biological maximum for lean people is 25. so ofc he is on dope, but so are all the other people here and half of those in regionals as well. I dont care, I just think its sad that people belive they are clean.

    Froning had to work for those wins; it was a close competition and more interesting from viewer's perspective. Mat just needed the minimum work requirement to win esp on those final days.
