Tesla Terafactory Texas Update

Welcome back everyone, it’s Randy! Today’s footage shows the many updates that have taken place since Saturday and we can see many areas around the site having extensive prep work being done in order to pour additional ground surfaces both inside and outside of the factory. We also get a look at the GigaPress area from a different angle today as well.
Here are today’s key takeaways:
- The GigaPress area shows a new large framed area north of the new foundation we just saw constructed for 2 more machines. What’s odd about this new area that is framed up is that all of the previous ones had the areas for the machine foundations excavated prior to any perimeter framing being set up and we also see a large north-facing opening in the framing. Could they just be building this foundation differently or could this be a foundation for something else that we don’t know of? Let me know what you guys think in the comments below. Before leaving this area, we get couple of looks at the assembly progress of machine #3 from a ways off from the north and then once again from the northeast. We can also see that forms and rebar are now looking to be in place for the perimeter grade beam on the east side of this section as well.
- The east side of the BIW section shows two more concrete slabs have been poured and another large one has already been framed and prepped with rebar, so we could see this one getting poured any moment now. A little further south from here, we can see that areas on each side of the loading bays are in the process of being framed out and having rebar installed.
- The southern gap shows the drilled shaft machinery is no longer present and work to bury the footings in the center of the pit is still ongoing while work to make the footings along the sides of the gap are also still underway. We can also see that work is taking place on the ground level of the south end of the paint shop from here as aggregate base mix is being neatly smoothed out and compacted.
- The GA west side again shows the wall panel installation is still at the south end and we can see workers present doing some work on the columns in the area. Up north on this side, the new taller windows being installed are still in progress and making their way towards the south at a steady pace now.
- We wrap up at the BCP building northwest corner and can see the large excavation next to the building we previously saw has now been filled back in.

Thanks Randy. You got the money shot of the top of a column pedestal in the south alleyway! 6:11. Casting. Still only one bridge crane working. 6:33. Casting roof. Column extension been grouted in place. 9:39. Bottom of screen. FSD not yet achieved. 10:10. East side BIW roof stair access. Framing up walls. Studs seem a little short, will need to be extended. 12:20. South alleyway. Nice clear shot of top of a column pedestal showing a bolt pattern that would suit 2 columns per pedestal. A small recess in the top also for a shear lug to drop into. Shear lug is a vertical plate welded to the bottom of the base plate. Same as the base plates on the columns stacked over in the Cathode area. Draw your own conclusion.

The area in the casting structure was already poured with concrete when I arrived this morning. Good job on the video Randy!

Great work Randy. I believe the correct term is forming, vs. framing when talking about concrete.

Fantastic job. I wish both you and Joe were able to do this every day. The context you both provide is simply outstanding. It must be a lot of work doing the research in order to provide that context in addition to the video.

Hey Randy, hope all is dandy! These sunset videos will allow us to peak inside each section of the factory that has lights, getting extra info otherwise blocked by contrast and reflections. Keep up with the good work and thank you!

If you look at the formed slab, it is just at the end of the gantry crane rail mounts. If they extend the existing rails, and use the existing crane along the whole length, that new slab (along with a door in end of building) is the handling point for heavy objects (die changes) being bought in to be placed in all 6 casting machine or staging for heavy maintenance swaps of worn out machines.

On that foundation, it is likely just a plain pad they're pouring. I am assuming 4x 6000 Ton GigaPresses are enough for now as well as the 2x 8000 Ton GigPresses. If they decide to deploy more/different GigaPresses, this foundation will likely be excavated and then reformed for the new GigaPresses.

I am still thinking that the southern central "alley way" is most likely the location of whatever machinery is to be installed to form/fold the body panels for the cybertruck. Of course, I welcome future developments proving me wrong, but, for now ,,, I stand by my analysis.

I don’t think that the newly formed slab in the nortwest end of the casting cathedral will ever get IDRA casting machinery. I would place the CT casting machines more toward the east side. Funny to see the portajohns lined up on the edge of a new slab, likely trying to keep machinery off the uncured concrete. Looks like the test track in the southwest corner of the site is about to be made. The site access road loops wide to create space for the track.

Awesome job Randy! You take the time to slow down and look at what is important to me. One note that has not been mentioned. There is new piping being staged begining just north of HGR and heading due north to a new yet tbd site. Beleive this is an extention of the gas piping from further south that parallels BIW.
