Think I’m the perfect parent? Not even close. A few weeks ago, I completely forgot to pick up our son. I just totally completely spaced and left him stranded.
In the car, crying and apologizing, he said something to me that shifted my whole perspective on perfection. I’m sharing it with you in this video ❤️
What is your imperfect moment? Share it with me in the comments!

I agree. I stopped trying to be perfect when I realised how living your reality, being completely authentic has more value because what ever you are going through you will come across some people that will help you vs when I was aiming to be perfect thinking people want to see how established I am...etc I was coming across a roadblock and it was mentally draining. And when people perceive you to be perfect because that's what you're projecting but your losing in reality. It's harder to ask for help.

This really hit home with me, one of my greatest downfalls is wanting to be perfect. I have settled for jobs beneath my ability because I keep saying i'm not ready yet, I have not learned enough yet and let jobs in my field and love pass me by. I have given up on hobbies that I loved because I was not the best at it. Because of this video I have decided to just apply for the jobs that I felt that I was not good enough for and see what happens.

Thanks for sharing this- after my divorce, i felt constantly under the microscope - telling myself if i am late getting our son from school- if i dont do this or that...it will be marked down somewhere & reason for anyone to take my son from me- I had to realize...my ex husband moved out of state over500 miles away & some years it goes from august - christmas break until his dad is with our son!! Then it can go from january until memorial day weekend- so, how can NO ONE get on his case, yet, i am a little late & i'm the worst mom in the world? Well, even if no one else will let themselves be good to me- my son is ALWAYS good to me. I get the hugs every day- the "i loveyou"and i am here for him every day. That is the truth. And facts are facts!

When it comes to others, I always try to be gentle, understanding, encouraging & supportive. However, when it comes to myself, I become so frustrated by myself with even the slightest mistake. Like dropping things, mixing my words up, tripping over my own feet (etc). It's actually become a mantra that I never intended "Why can't I be perfect, like everyone else?". I actively HATE the fact that I'm a little too human, feeling judged by others when they see me trip, or drop things, I don't even like eating in front of people. It's causing me to live a life of total solitude and I can't stand it anymore.
