When I was 25 I had everything i wanted then I made a lot of mistakes and bad decisions so when I was 32 I lost everything I've worked so hard for. I got very depressed lost my house, cars, motorcycle, wife the only thing I had left was my cell phone and it was getting hard to pay for it but I was using it to survive selling little things I had like tools and stuff but then I found Les Brown and Mel Robbins on KZread and I learned that I can change my life so I started to work harder on everything so I thank God for everything I when thru. Now I'm 42 and just 2 years ago everything started to get easier everything is different and I am different. Thank you Mel

Mel, I'm 53 and have been working in retail hell for most of my adult life barely making minimum wage for 30 years and I finally got my dream job! I have applied at my local library for 10 years, volunteered, and inquired here and there and just never heard anything. I kept cashiering at soul sucking dollar store jobs and one day I stopped in to make a resume to quit my shitty dollar store job for a hopefully less shitty dollar store when the library lady said, "Oh Jen, please apply here, you would be perfect and we need someone with an open schedule." Now with my kids grown I have an open schedule, life experience and a grateful heart. Sometimes things are unfolding and you have to have faith and patience. I get to share your books with patrons too!

Good for you. May i suggest that you make it a priority to invest in your health. Maybe getting physio massage hydrotherapy...and also change your diet. ..I recently had to do some renovations....not a paid job..but I went from covid lockdown to lifting heavy things and to be honest with you even holding the small drill was painful for my body. My back kept going and my neck and all sorts. A friend of mine suggested i eat more protien and he said just force yourself..so I wasa eating three eggs for breakfast and a chicken breast for lunch and if I could manage it some more protien later on but also veggies etc. And it made a big difference to the soreness of my muscles. It was something i hadnt thoight about. I also started going for massage and although I didnt end up doing it as much as I promised myself it was such a good thing. I then added epson salt bath and just getting some warm up excercises stretching etc. And that helped a lot so I wish I had started with a plan because my Injuries along the way made thw whole job longer. Now ive got a lot stronger and less things seem to be about to snap. So I wish you all the best going forward. Take good care of yourself so that you dont get exhuasted and run down. Take vimtins too cos you will be mixing with people suddenly and getting exposed to all sorts. Vitmin d and k zinc and vitmin C are all really good as well as magnesium is great for muscles and sleep. So at minimum Take some of those to keep your immune system good and healing the muscles good. I don't know what to do now that my project is finished so I am just wondering around the house foostering 😂

I found you at the most important time of change in my life. I am 76 and seperated from my husband of 55 yrs. I have been on my own for 4 yrs. At first I cried so much but my husband is a serious alcoholic.i have a brilliant team that are there for those with mental health issues. Every day some positives do come my way. I live in what some would call a dodgy area. Well 98 per cent of the residents are angels. So kind and invite me to hubs etc. Today was such a simple day but the group who were giving time to us were so kind. My faith is growing because of these careing souls. I have accepted that my marriage is over although we will not divorce. Slowly I am gaining assurance that I will manage. Thankyou for your positive advice.

Most of us have serious limitations at our age and older so that makes it a little tougher. I have gone back to work, I am a caregiver and some of my clients are right around my age, so yes I am very blessed to be able to do this. Let me tell ya though, after just a 5 or 6 hour day I am plum tuckered. lol. Yes, at 67 I do have a fire inside of me wanting to explode with creativity and caring. I can empathize with your situation. I was married to a physically, emotionally, financially and sexually abusive narcissist for 24 years. During that time we, and our three children, moved 26 times and were homeless 9 times. Before anyone judges me, please consider that each domestic violence situation is unique. There are countless reasons I stayed but the main one is because he had a daughter with his ex-girlfriend and was extremely abusive to her. She had family, friends and professionals helping her but he kept getting away with it. His best friend's father was a Sargeant with the Police Department and he had a different friend who was an Officer. She finally managed to get him out of her life by telling him the baby wasn't his, even though she is. I got a divorce 15 years ago but the damage he did is taking a long time to recover from. He stalked me for at least ten years after the divorce and he probably still is. I know for a fact, through my children, that he's still stalking them and their families. Nothing about my life is how I wanted it to be but I am getting better a bit every single day and I'll never give up! Please know there are complete strangers, like me, in this world who love and pray for you and all other living beings. Blessings of love and light to all!

Thanks for reminding me to “pull over on this road trip” and from that I’ve realized I have so many years ahead of me to change my occupation. I think it’s hard with so much pressure on me from family to stop and relax and enjoy where I am at during this road trip. It’s gonna take some practice ❤thanks Mel

Thank you so much Mel. I’m a professional singer in Miami, Florida (apart from working for law firms as a legal assistant for over 30 years.) I was the soloist at a church choir for many years, but I moved a bit further away almost 3 years ago. After listening to your wonderful video, today I contacted a church very close to where I now live so that I can join the choir in this church. I will also commit to attending the gym at my building 1/2 an hour every evening after work. I’m on a mission to become a new, improved and re-invented me! 😇🌹🎤

I'm twice your age and in the same place. Can you imagine how I feel at this age ? I wish I was 33 !!!!! Look at all the negatives you're throwing at your life. You're forgetting that you are at the greatest point in your life that you can be at 33. The 20's are usually meant for mistakes, learning and figuring out life. Even if you're not realizing it right now, you are smarter and wiser because of what you've been through. Maybe it's not you I'm talking to but myself at your age. I'd tell myself " Wake up, you are still young and you have your whole life ahead of you, a life full of adventures and wonderful experiences if only you would, just for one moment, stop and smell the roses, yes they are right there in front of you, you're just not seeing them. " I would stop judging myself. We ALL make mistakes. Without them how can we grow and learn to be a better version of ourselves. I would stop comparing myself to others because no one can live my life but me, this journey is my own. Stop punishing yourself with regrets and self doubt. Your uniqueness is your strength. How do celebrities and songwriters stand out ?, by being unique and putting their own stamp on everything they touch and believing in themselves. So write a letter to your old self saying whatever you want to say and then burn it. Let it all go because holding on to something you can't do anything about isn't helping you, it's just wasting your mental energy and causing you pain. Learn from it and move on otherwise you too will be my age and be the one writing this comment to someone else. Refocus, Revise and Rewrite your story because you are the ONLY author of your book.

I am 29. Fucked off most of my twenties had two kids from two different women got into a toxic marriage, got divorced and married again at 28. Accumulated a lot of debt in my early twenties, Slowly getting my life together one piece at a time. I know I'll look up in 11 years when I'm 40 and thank myself for going through what I went through. I will be a mentor for young people with kids, I'll be a mentor with people and their money, I'll be a mentor on young married couples from experience. It takes some of the anxiety and stress off your shoulders when you look at it that way and when you see that you're not the only person dealing with hard stuff or life in general. The thing about being in your 20's or 30's Is you have time, it's not money but time that is your biggest asset. I never truly understood or appreciated the quote "the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. One foot in front of the other, one healthy meal at a time, one gym workout at a time one chapter you read at a time, one cold call at a time. Keep going everyone even when it seems impossible and it's too dark keep going.

Such a hot topic today. I went through a major career change 5 years ago, I was at the height of my career in Direct Sales but just got burned out and felt an angst inside! I needed a change but had no idea what. I went through a very long hard journey searching for my “what’s next”. I finally figured out my true calling is actually helping women get clarity on their calling! Like Mel said, I was able to use my past skills and my inner talents to create something new! It’s been a wild ride but it’s been amazing! For those of you going through this I want to say -keep going! It is scary but so exciting! 🎉❤ ⛵️

For a while I felt my bank account bleeding. My world has been spinning after being a caregiver for my mother. I totally forgot who I was and what I wanted. Everything from my family, relationships, health, and wealth to my relationship with my Creator was nonexistant. I had a habit of putting others above myself that I allowed others to dictate my life rather than write my own story. I really let myself go! It's time for an upgrade, time for a do-over, or reinvention.

Awesome videos Mel! At the beginning of the year, I started doing pushups every hour. I started at 8 pushups and I'm now (3/9/2023), am at 20 pushup every hour or when I get to go to the bathroom (which is a lot). I basically do 200 pushups every day. I've noticed that my 10 hour work day flies by for me. I feel energized after doing those 20 pushups and look forward to doing them, which allows me to push away from the computer scream. 20 pushups are not a lot of time or effort, but who knew that they would help me some much. They allow me focus on my work when I'm back at the computer screen and they may even help my 56 year old runner body get a little stronger :). I found this by myself, but I believe that your podcast help understand why the pushups are helping me with my work day. Thank you for everything that you do Mel!

You know how Mel has a theme of "hang in there, show follow through, stick with it"? When I started listening to Mel about 8 months ago it was really hard to follow through on the smallest little things. And, I don't know where it came from exactly, but it is really starting to change for me. The voice in my head has changed from critical to kind. And, this new voice is really smart, too. I like this kind of smart because it has great feelings that are bubbling up. And, it has nothing to do with anyone else. A nicer me has surfaced, and I like her a lot.

I am so incredibly thankful for you, Mel Robbins. I had pretty much been on auto pilot, barely alive all my life. I am a woman of faith. I could believe for other people, but not for myself. Like I was some kind of misfit even though I believed in a benevolent God I don't understand myself sometimes. I would pray and pray for help, but I had truly felt that maybe he wouldn't answer my prayers. My prayers didn't consist of filling my bank account, but to make my life better so I could make a difference in this world. Just Kickstart me.I have never needed to be in the lime light or to be powerful. Just do good and love people who are just needing someone to encourage those who are on a destructive course in their lives. So I saw you on line mostly KZread. I would listen for a while and just stopped and did something else. I kept thinking about listening again but I would excuse myself out of listening. But one day, I listened to HEAL YOUR TRAUMA. I was blown away. There are things that came to light. You see, this may sound crazy, but I was praying desperately for God's help. All I could see was Mel Robbins' name. So that when I devoted time to hearing her podcast. Heal your trauma was the beginning. I felt like I was finally coming out of my stink existence. I have always felt that I was meant for more. Just locked in that misfit mode in my head. I am learning more, and the fact that Mel Robbins is so determined to make life doable and succeed in helping people like me to see that our dreams are a reality. I am extremely grateful for this very determined woman, Mel Robbins.

Thank you Mel! You inspire me every day. I am over 60 and have had many hobbies. I have been a single mom over 25 years. I am a right brain and loved to cook, creat music and sewing in the past. I have lost 60 % of my hearing and just had shoulder surgery. My taste buds have changed after covid and I have developed allergies to most foods. I am still hanging on to my past hobbies. It’s like the song should I grab on to the new or hang on to the old. I am trying to decide what I can do to contribute to society. I am very passionate about keeping our schools safe. I’m thinking of being a volunteer for either the schools or even our police department. It is totally a different passion. I have made sandwiches for the homeless. May start that up again. I feel like I am being shown a new life. Leaving a lot of my past hobbies and all the tools and materials are very difficult for me to let go. I feel like the best I can to is go through stuff and let go of what I can. I organize those things I am not yet willing to let go of. The other hurdle is things are so expensive these days it makes it even harder to let go.

@@xannaz9226 Thank you Xanna Z, I am not a hoarder. However I did look up your recommendation for some great tips, thank you. I have a piano and a few guitars. I have a few sewing machines. It’s more about deciding what is my next chapter in life. When you are forced to change because of your health it’s different. I’m not ready to give up my piano and guitar or sewing. It’s probably better if I wait for my shoulder to fully recover or get new hearing aids before I start given stuff. I am just impatient. Thank you for helping me clarify. We all can dejunk our lives. I took all the glass to the recycling center yesterday. It piles up like anything. So there is something each of us can do to make our lives less cluttered every day. However it is letting go of fabrics That I’m talking about in the 1st post. I can let go of some but not all. The price of fabric now days is gone up considerably. I will try to donate them to a good cause at least.

She's right. I'm order than her but I didn't realize this until I heard her saying to write down on paper the kind of person you'd love and what they'd do, then to do those things for yourself. This is genius because you now have the power to reinvent yourself. Spoil yourself freaking rotten so that when you meet someone who you like then you have some icing on the cake. I always heard that you can't love anyone until you love yourself but didn't know what that looked like until i separated myself from toxic relationships. One after the other people have fallen away and I've felt sad... but also relieved. Yes, it's a relief to know I'm the one in charge even if it means there's no one to talk to during the day. You get stronger. You start thinking about the new path like you're going somewhere even if you're not sure where that is. You feel like there's a kid inside of you that wants to come out and play. And then out of the blue you get invited somewhere or a certain event comes up. You're no longer afraid of yourself because you did the tough stuff. It's your turn, baby!

I literally had to pause the video to say this. I've been listening to a ton of your podcasts, from your appearances on others' to your own, and this is the first time this happened. I said out loud, "Oh my God, yes." It's not the first time I've related to what you were saying, but I said it out loud, involuntarily. You said, "Maybe you met the love of you're life, and you're afraid to screw it up." This is so me right now. We're about to move in together. He lives an hour away, so I'm job hunting near him. I'm terrified of this change, but also excited. It's the beginning of what I see as the best chapter. I'm afraid that I'll move and be stuck if I screw up the relationship. I've had trust issues my whole life, and they've only gotten worse with the terrible partners I've chosen. This could really be it, the future I've been dreaming of. Then there is this other big change that comes with the move. My son is about to go to college, and my daughter is a sophomore in high school. I felt like an imposter in my current job because I don't have a degree, but I KNOW I'm capable. I feel like I'm being looked over by potential employers in the place I'm moving to because of this. I'm afraid that I won't find a job worthy of me. I know that I need to stay in tune with myself and manifest the life I deserve. I haven't even listened to the whole podcast yet, but I am already connecting to all of this. Thank you for all you do. You are truly an inspiration. I would love to talk to you one day.

Thanks so much for this I really needed it. I love 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. It gets me out of bed. I just had a birthday and I thought I would be in a different place by now. I sometimes feel like I should already have the husband 5 children by now. I am 37 and my time is running out for having all these children I want.

What a beautiful episode. Yesterday, I told myself that I need to reinvent myself and this morning, I found your podcast. In 5 days, I will reach the 56-mile marker. I'm tired of looking in the rear view mirror and reliving the past. I want to feel alive and look forward to the future. Thank you Mel.❤

I'm at marker 68. Started over so many times in my life. Was in insurance, massage therapy, special education aid, administrative assistant and more. 1 divorce and married again. Ups and downs. Most of my family is gone and I'm still trying to find something new and exciting to do in my life. I'm slower, but capable. Always choose something you like

This is perfect timing, Mel - I just got laid off this week from my job of 17 years that I loved. My emotions are all over the place and I'm feeling somewhat chaotic.. You're helping me to realize that in spite of this detour and being at the 66 mile marker, I still have an exciting and open road ahead of me. Thank you so muh.🌼 🩷

i was in a similar place. AARP foundation has a back to work 50+ job campaign - that's really helpful. you pick up the pieces by taking deliberate actions and not wallowing in the past. get yourself up - and start - this might be one lead - good luck

Now that I feel more settled that is what I am doing to move forward.. I have to admit it's exciting (and a little scary) to be making new plans for myself but hear I go! Thank you again 😊🌼

Needed this. I am 50 and going through some depression and anxiety. I am a psych nurse that has been away from my job for several months because I was attacked by one of my patients. It did a number on my mind. I have one daughter and she is 32. Thank goodness she is happy and has a great partner. I have a 28 year old step daughter that has a wonderful little girl, our grand girl! I don't know if work will let me return, even though I did nothing wrong. Work said I was too anxious to nurse right now. I don't know what to do. I don't knowwhat I want to do. I do not know what to focus on. I find this channel so helpful. I know I will figure all this out and prevail in life. But, turning 50 did not help much. 2022 was a bad year for me.

Great show! Ive had a passion for health and wellness for years but wasn’t really sure what the ultimate health and wellness “thing” to do would look like. I was in a weight loss program and eventually became a health coach in my 50s, just out of getting my own “road trip” together. Best detour I ever had!! Thanks for this encouragement Mel❤
