The most true and pure Jedi was the rebellious one. Even with all of his criticisms and problems with the Jedi Order at that point he never strayed. He showed people who he was, he never had to tell people, he lived as an example of a Jedi in their purest form.

Right you are, Qui Gon was the last true Jedi until Luke came along. I mean the Luke from Legends and EU not the sequel trilogy. Yoda later realized that Qui Gon had been right all along. Yoda was largely at fault because he didn’t allow the order to change, and he kept it too attached to the Republic.

Qui-Gon should have spent a year to 18 months on the counsel. In order to show them the "true" Jedi way. He was a bit selfish in not even trying to change them.

Qui Gon was truly wiser than the rest of the Jedi. Later on (ROTS) Yoda realized that Qui Gon had been right all along. Yoda realized that he was largely at fault because he didn’t allow the order to change. The Jedi had become too arrogant, and too stifled by their traditions, they adhered too much to the letter of the law (Jedi code) that they forgot about the spirit of it (the force). Honestly, I believe that the Jedi order needed to fall in order for a better one to arise, that being Luke’s Jedi order. By that I mean Luke’s order from Legends and EU not the sequel trilogy which in my opinion isn’t true canon. The Jedi were long overdue for a reformation.

I agree on all that! A lot of things would've turned out different and better if Qui-Gon hadn't died and they had just listened to him about everything. And yes Luke was something like Qui-Gon himself since becoming a Jedi and the new Jedi order he made in Legends EU was a LOT better and I know Qui-Gon would've been very proud of it.

Qui-Gon and Dooku were a lot alike. They both saw the issues with the Jedi council as having become too politically involved with the Galactic Senate and the Supreme Chancellor and also Grand Master Yoda had too much power on the council. They both respected and admired him but he was too dogmatic in his ways being very strict and stubborn with traditional rules. Both were viewed as mavericks. Where they went in different directions 🧭 was after Qui-Gon was killed. Dooku blamed the council for his death. It could have been prevented. And also when Syfo-Dias had his vision. That world could have been saved. He felt there was no place for him as a Jedi. They lost their way a long time ago.

Qui-Gon didn't care about all politics and other BS the Jedi council seemed to get involved in more and more. Which ultimately led to the fall of their order. It's really too bad he died when he did. To see if he made the right choice all one has to look at is Dooku while he was a Jedi, he was personally trained by the grand master of the order, and yet the dogmatic nature of the clone wars era Jedi shackled him to inability enough so that even when a Sith appeared he was barred from going after them. This in turn cost the order not one but two members as the only avenue Dooku had available was to leave the order to try and have any kind of change on the galaxy for the better.

This is a man that rejected the council offer because of a treaty about essentially slavery but was perfectly okay with how the Hutts ran the Outer Rim and THEIR slave policies and allowed Shmi to remain enslaved because the Hutts weren't his government and the Jedi only work in Republic space...basically I am calling BS on Qui-Gon then, he is no better than the Jedi he claims are lost. Moreover he claims remaining off the Council allows him more freedom...but the Council is the one that hands out missions and tells their Knights where to go, he can't just willy nilly run off and do whatever he pleases. In fact, it's arguable that taking that seat on the council WOULD grant him the freedom to go wherever because he is a frickin council member, any meetings he needs to sit in on he could do remotely.... This is all just nonsensical on Qui-Gon Jinn's part.

Qui-Gon had to die by the end of The Phantom Menace because George Lucas realized he’d be too powerful if he didn’t nerf him.

Or because he realized that if Qui-Gon had trained Anakin, there would've been no Darth Vader -- and hence no trilogy.

Qui-Gon was right. But his voice would’ve benefited the Jedi Order. The story sounds great, but in TPM; 1. Obi-Wan complains that if Qui-Gon would just follow the Council’s guidelines, that he would be on the Jedi Council. 2. At the beginning of the movie, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are on a mission for the Order/Senate. 3. Qui-Gon takes Anakin to the Jedi Council on Coruscant to ask the Council for permission to train Anakin as his Padawan learner.

Because Qui-Gon didn't always disagree with the Council. It was over important issues that he went the way of the Force. Also: Qui-Gon was going to train Anakin regardless of the Council's decision. That was also shown in TPM.

Yoda is probably the only one to realize Qui-Gon was correct when the Jedi fell. Jedi became too restricted and institutionalized to see the dangers.
