SO EXCITED YOU GUYS ARE BACK. This was so good for the first episode. Star and Noah are gonna get together more on emotional and musical level than just physical. Derek is gonna walk by the end of the season. He and Alex are gonna break up mid-season when he finds out about the abortion but they'll get back together by the end of the season. Simone will have a little love interest and get sober with Evan Ross character. The album will eventually drop and the girls will get picked up to go Empire's label. This like watching TLC Remastered.

O.K. since they officially kicking of the crossover between Empire and Star. Sooner or later they need to address the fact that Alex's Momma looks just like Camila since they are both played by Naomi Cambell.

Thank you for the review ladies. I've still got mixed feelings about this show. It's a lot of drama. A lot happened in this episode and I could have done without Star and Mike Epps character and all that mess. Star has to see that this is the wrong way to advance in the music industry. These girls are too young to be wrapped in all this sexual drama. I don't appreciate the fact that Big Troubles career has not moved forward. I expected them to be in the studio making that album and dealing with the problems that go with being a naive new artist/group. I expected to see them get a little advance (cash) and Star with her crazy self, goes out and spends it all. I expected to see more of Alex and Star clashing a little in the studio. I hope Alex and Derek can work out their problems, support each other and advance their relationship. I don't want to see Derek sitting around that house depressed for more than 1 more week. I'm also thinking if Derek is not Alex's boyfriend anymore then he will have less scenes (and he has such little screentime already). The ending was shocking and felt like a quick dream sequence. I agree that Jahil is hiding somewhere. Oh and them wigs Carlotta is wearing in this episode look too synthetic. I feel like a hair stylist would have better wigs. I hope they straighten Star's hair, it's a mess most of the time.

I really liked the premiere I did really like the vulnerability that star has when she was in the police station. But cotton will be very mad at her mum no matter if she killed or "killed" jahill . I think that Alex got the abortion when she found out he was paralyzed.. and lied about it bc she didn't want Derek to feel guilty .. I'm super glad u guys are back for a second season !!

Marisha Smid yes Alex had an abortion. I'm sure star will get mad once she finds out Alex lies about it but I can understand why tho cuz it's bad enough that she lost her baby and Derek is paralyzed and can't walk. I just can't wait till this Wednesday's episode but the 1st one was very GOOD

I'm happy you guys are back and I really enjoyed your commentary. I know this is a show, but I feel that art imitates life and I'm offended by the Derek and Alex story line. I don't see how he is a distraction or how she is taking care of him. Maybe they will show more throughout the season because she was gone the majority of the first episode and he seemed like he was doing fine on his own. She seemed more pressed about him and he was supporting her and saying do what you need to do. He is paralyzed from the waist down and many people with that injury can take care of themselves. Some of them are working and raising families. Again, I know it's just a show, but it bothered me a little. I'm looking forward to your review on tomorrows show! :)

I loved this episode. i was super shocked to see that Carlotta was the one who killed Jahill, the latin girl and Hunter. That made my mouth drop lol. I was however disappointed to see that after all that hard work and turmoil they were still basically at square one in regards to their success. I actually was hoping they had made some type of come up. I wasn't surprised that Alex got a abortion and I can see them using the abortion as a way to break Alex and Derek up so that they can be pushed to the next level. In these shows the love interests are insignificant they will basically come and go so I try not to get so hung up on who they are with romantically. I invest in the character. But it did tie up some loose ends. So I'm interested to see how this story unfolds.

I actually loved this first ep. I am curious so far about where they take the Empire crossovers, what role Elliot will play now that Cotton is out of jail, the Noah drama, and how Derek will react when he finds out Alex lied and actually had an abortion.

Yeah I finally watched the episode this afternoon and while I actually don't mind that the character interactions between both shows were minor, cause it seems like their building toward something grander and more exciting. What exactly do the Lyons owe Carlotta? IDK. I'm interested to know how she knows Cookie and her sisters beyond the fact that she used to take care of Jamal when he was a baby and that she and Mary sang on a couple of Lucious' tracks.

the music is way better on here than empire.

I enjoyed your review on this episode. I thought the episode was a great premiere, filled with some twists and turns, but I wanna know, what did you think of seeing Jamal on Star? What do you think of the fact that Carlotta used to take care of him when he was a baby? Also what do you think Carlotta meant when she said that the Lyons owed her?

Bmore Lee who said carlotta killed hunter and Eva, clearly jihel called carlotta to shoot him unconscious and hide him out so the cartel won't be going after him and his loved ones
