Lmao remember when Simone said in season 1 that she "would have gone for a rapper" after finding out Star was kinda dating a football player? And it turns out that the girl in the detention center with her is a rapper... coincidence? GOD, I really hope not. 😭😭

One of the most consistent things about Star is she is all about achieving success with her group. Her wanting to branch out Solo would be out of character from her overall goals

I don't think star really been around though. Because when she's talking to Holland in the first episode she says "your like the second guy I've with". So I don't think she's sleeping around as much as she uses her charms to get what she wants. I think she just wants people to see her as this ruthless person so she's not hurt in the long run

Damn, I really hope Simone is gay or bi or something. We need more representation of young women of color in the media as it is, and going that extra step and representing the LGBTQ+ community as well would reach a lot of people on an even larger scale, and mean a lot to viewers, myself included. Though, honestly, I'd rather not see Simone with a love interest just because she's so young and going through so much, and a relationship is a lot to deal with. But if she's with anyone, I would appreciate it being a girl. The kiss was pretty creepy, but I agree that it would work as a good set up to introduce a story-line like that. I would certainly appreciate it.

Yeah, I feel you. But I also think it's important to show a WLW character who's not a secondary character and who isn't often just used as the comic relief. I think it's important to show Simone trusting anyone in a relationship, really, after all she's been through, but I understand what you mean. I just think that it would be a much more interesting story-line if she DID like girls, because that's also about trust, but it would also be about the reactions of the other characters. Especially Carlotta, as it took her a long time for accept Cotton. It could be different for Simone, but it would still be meaningful to see her accepting herself, and how that spins into play with everyone else. I find it important for young viewers to see, ya know??? I think another part of me will also be kinda pissed if they DON'T at least briefly cover something about her sexuality. That would mean the kiss was pointless and that's just very queerbait like. It's not okay to use something like that as a way to shock the viewers, because that's just objectifying WLW. I kinda doubt they're actually going to do anything with Simone's sexuality, which is disappointing, but I'd rather just see her happy, and if that means some boy makes her happy, then so be it. 😂

I think Alex if branching out and finding an outlet in shopping all her little bit of money she has and stealing to fill the void of her aborting the baby. It's kinda like a coping mechanism she can't tell anybody and she feels just terrible inside so she's doing something that thrills her and help get the abortion out her mind that's why you see in the preview for next weeks episode she is smashing a store's window in pieces,she is acting out.

It's not like her mom can't afford that diamond braclet, and you know they are back on good terms now so she could have asked her but no she stole it and I don't think it's for Derek bc she looks in the window and sees him then decides to hit up the store, she is trying to avoid him in all honesty

Thanks ladies for the review. This episode was good. However, some things are too predictable like I knew Star was going to show up twice in the labels office and at the studio with Noah. I was expecting Jahil to appear at the very end of the first episode last week or early on this episode. I don't think Simone is gay, I think that scene was thrown in as a filler too and a little shock value and because Simone just wants to get their careers off the ground and get out of that awful group home. If you listen to the conversation between the three girls in the bedroom. They all see that they have to do much more to make it now. Look at what Alex does. Why? She's got rich parents and I think her mum would be happy to give her some credit cards back to keep her daughter safe, happy and be able to afford a decent place to stay (or whatever she wants that money for). I am not feeling Paris Jackson's role in this show (in the two episodes she's appeared in). Quincy Brown (Derek) is being pushed back even further to a guest appearance, even though he's down as a series regular. I want them to give him more scenes and give him more to do. I would have prefered it if he was a singer or music producer on the show, struggling to get his music off the ground too. Shawna's prediction about Alex and Derek was good and made me sit up. I think you are right because she looked at him through the window and then phoned the store.

Thank you for your reply. I think Cotton is going to excel at what ever work Elliott gives her and he's going to be impressed. You see how no one else could manage the books when she left the salon. I think Elliott is going to work hard to woo Cotton and he might pay for her surgery in the next few weeks.
