The older woman next door is Derek's grandmother. The actress is Juanita Jennings she did play Edna in the TV series Meet the Browns.

I think it was Cotton who killed Otis because at the end of the episode when Star asked who killed him, Cotton just started sipping her tea. Plus it is unexpected for her to do that.

Maybe Alex got touched as a kid too that we don't know about yet so she was passionate and tried going after him and there was a struggle and Derek went looking for her and seen symone fighting him off and killed Otis !

I think it's alexandria too. The scene where they showed her listening to simone tell carlotta about otis and her reaction to hearing it was shown for a reason.

#WhoOffedOttis...I think Alexandria killed Otis bc she not only sighed, but her hair was tore up...I think Simon being molested triggered something in her bc she was molested by her father and that's really the core of her hate for her father and intolerance for her mother.....Now Tyler Perry would write that in and have all of our jaws dropping. BOOM!

I agree with Jill. I think Star doesn't​ like or is in love with Hunter. Though I do think Hunter is at the very least intrigued with Star and how she doesn't​ just bend to his will with his every word.

Anyone notice how the runaway girl looked the second time Jahil went into the safe to get the gun?? i think she either saw the code or just gave too much interest in the safe. I think she gon be a problem...

this episode was lit! I'm liking jahli more and more and now that you mention it i hope the girl that he rescues becomes his ride or die girl. even though i have to admit in the beginning of the show i wanted jahi with star or carlotta because in some scenes that he has with the both of them they have chemistry. jahli is not a bad guy he is just down on his luck. is it just me or is every episode does star get more annoying? i had hope that each episode that airs i would come to like her more but she just gets on my nerves for some weird reason. one last thing each week that i watch star it feels like a mini movie to me and i think that it is so cool.

Cream and chocolate was in reference to Derek and Alexandra. It's a joke on of their skin complexions. Two different shades of Black beauty.
