I think Mavis was messing with Bishop before and while he got with Mae. In the end Bishop chose Mae because she was better for the image. After the marriage they may have had a 1 time encounter so Mavis was telling the truth yet was still trying to get under Mae's skin.

This was a great episode..it made me a bit sad..especially when it came to zora and isaiah..she is in such denial about her ordeal that she is willing to lie on isaiah's behalf...this has changed zora..made her more subdued,melancholy, withdrawn..i hope she comes to her senses, before something worst happens..

I know Maricel got plenty of Greenleaf tea! Jacob looked like he was 10 feet tall when he stood up after Sophia told him the church player popped Zora

Great review. I think that Mavis vs Mae is interesting as to this is what happens when you come from dysfunction. Their whole family is crazy throughout the years the two sisters have used and hurt each other. I think Mavis said all that to hurt Mae b/c she is hurt as well. But I think he may have chosen Mae for the image but also she was religious and Mavis, Mae and him had dreams of the grand family and Mavis is just not controllable. She drinks, she curse and she runs a bar and doesn't have or seem to want children. But Mavis only wanted to hit on the points that she knew would get Mae stir crazy. I wonder if she knew that Mae was molested or if the dad was molesting them both or b/c Mae was molested the dad gave her preferred treatment so Mavis thinks the dad chose Mae over her.

I love you guys! One thing though, I get that your thinking it doesn't matter that he married her (titles), but these women are of a different generation than you, I promise you, baby sister's feelings were hurt by that statement. Because she's admitting that "You know that may be true but I am his lawful wife and my children are his heirs, and he is still coming home to me." And female viewers of a certain age would probably agree that sister girl got the last word in that conversation. Though, her whole married life WAS A LIE and she sure will have to deal with. We're going to find out if he EVER loved her. Speaking of age, I read a lot of 'ugly comments' on social media like KZread. I personally am not one to be 'bullied'. I am definitely a 'grown woman' of a certain age and what I always wonder when I run across these people is..."How old are you! Is EVERYONE commenting on this medium a TEENAGER?" They think they can say anything they want with no 'push back', and your thinking most of these 'cowards' wouldn't open their mouths if they were speaking to a person sitting across from them (now I know some of them would, don't get it twisted). *But your right, the same STUPIDITY in so-called GROWN people is, 'mouth dropping' RIDICULOUS!* *I love you guys' straight talk!* Excellent review!

I am not even a Christian but I am VERY disappointed with how they depict not only Christians but Christianity overall. Excellent cast and well acted, but this series gives Christianity no quarter. No matter how truthful this series can be, it's overall message is that Christianity and not just Christians are wrong for everything.

If anyone is looking for faith and reassurance in Christianity then yes this show is doing the opposite but i do enjoy the fact that they speak the unspeakable and whats often covered up in black churches/families and how some churches are nothing more than businesses. its sad but its too often the truth :(

Great review yall. Im glad Jacob beat Isaiah's A$$. Zora running away with Isaiah wasnt surprised. Charity getting her rocks didnt care for it. jarbi didnt care and start engine . Man didnt warm it up. Oh okay playboy. Bishop tripe dipping with Mavis. Loves the dark chocolate. I cant wait for queen sugar

I was wondering about when Jacob said that Faith had an abusive boyfriend i was thinking was Zora around when this was going on and witnessed it, I like how Mavis went in on lady Mae she let her have it, I'm tired of Issa the church player he needed to be more than punched Jacob should've went three rounds with him outside in the parking lot
