Great field test! As an owner of the FX9, was have been holding off on buying new glass (just been renting what I need depending on the shoot) to figure out which glass will give me the most bang for my buck. Thanks for the info!!

great test. very useful and thanks was wondering about the sigma 2470 and hit hearing that hunting noise on it so thats a no go. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Wondering what mic you booming and what xlr to 2.5 adapter seemingly you had on there.

Wish you had of tested the 70-200 with the mc11 adapter ..

Great test man! From my experience with the fs5, i come with those advice: Sony lenses work best with AF, aperture and auto exposure Sigma with MC11 adaptor is kinda ok but AF is not even close to the Sony lenses Canon with Metabones suck. Canon with SigmaMC11 sucks. Cheers!

Do you know if Tamron E mount glass works with the FX9 with autofocus? Similarly to the Sigma glass?

my fx9 says cannot proceed when trying to switch from manual to AF, happens on both my sony G master lenses that used to work. any ideas how to fix or what could be causing the error.

why did you use the meta bones adapter when you had the sigma adapter for the same lenses?

For native canon lenses, viltrox adapter with the latest firmware works really well

Lotta comments, sorry if someone already asked, but could the loudness of the Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 have been from the OS or was it only noisy when it was actively engaged in autofocusing? The Sony E mount version doesn't have OS so it doesn't have motors to compensate for movement that would make that noise. I understand the need for versatility between different camera brands, have you tested which EF mount versions of the Sigma ART series lenses have useable AF via the MC-11 adapter?

Good test. However , I think you should test EF autofocuse with a Sigma mount not a Metabone.

Hey... You seem to be the man who knows it all... Do you need Sony e mount lenses to stablise in catalyst browse? Note - I plan on using Sigma 18-35 EF's through a Sigma MC-11 adaptor. Thanks :)

You don’t Sony specific lenses to work with Catalyst browse Just a lens the has electronic connections to camera so the camera is getting the lens info. MC-11 and metabones adapters work Here is a video I did on this typic kzread.info/dash/bejne/l411tcx9gpS6o7Q.html

Thanks for this showcase! Great to see the differences in the lenses. Canon glass is basically useless. So basically, it's a good idea to invest in sigma glass. Did you notice much difference in performance between Sigma EF with adapter vs Sigma E-mount? In the video couldn't really see a difference.

Thanks for these tests man. I'm heavily leaning towards pairing the 28-135mm with an a7siii, plus a single prime such as a 50mm to start with as I migrate over to Sony. Could you tell me how satisfied you are overall with both the function and image quality of the 28-135mm? I love the coverage and the functionality of the lens, especially considering the power zoom, though I know its exact zoom function has limitations. Anyway thank you for the video.

The 28-135 is a really great lens! Image off it looks great and it's super versatile. The only thing that would stop me from using it on my A7SIII is during times when you need an ND on the camera. The front thread size is really large. 95mm. You can get a 95mm Variable ND thought.

Wish you had tested sigma mc-11 adapter with native canon glass ?

The Sigma 24-70 is a sharper lens then the Sony 28-135

I tried a couple of Metabones on fs7 and fx9. I think they are not reliable. They often needs to be unmounted and mounted back again to see the iris number and focal distance, focus is not really usable with Canon lenses.

I was curious on how the Sigma 24-70 f2.8 art lens e mount would work on the FX9. and I I can't believe it worked great. Next is, test the Sigma 24-70 f2.8 on the FX9 and see if it registers the gyroscope/ibis data for stabilisation in post

Putting the sound issue aside the sigma 24-70 ef mount does become very interesting as it has built in image stabilisation. Any other cons on the ef mount you can think of? I mean it's still the same glass as the e mount right?

hey 24-70 ef and 24-70 e Sigma lenses are diffrent lenses, not the same with diffrent mount. diffrent build, diffrent IS, diffrent weight and size.

the sigma 2470 is sexier than the g master.

So this guy is testing camera in plain *COVID-19* pandemic.
