hmm...what am I doing wrong here? I am using a Tascam x6 and get similarly distorted audio, but when I edit in audition (as shown here) and bring the DB down, nothing is recovered. The audio simply gets shaved off where it clips and the whole thing just gets quieter...does that make sense?

Hi Brian, love your work, but I have to disagree with you on one thing, it is 4 times better quality in raw than anything Ive used in the lower sony range. Especially when I color grade the images - they literally look like motion stills. The highlight rolloff is comparable to the new Alexa at a much lower price point. Raw is the only reason George lucas used sony on the prequals. For coporates and smaller end doco jobs though, The other cameras will do. The next doco film I do will be shot in Raw 6k 50fps on the burano - something the fx6 falls short (res and lattitude) and so does Blackmagic 6k due to its 12bit nature. The Ibis is just the extra cream on the cake.

Does anyone know why DJI built the smart RC without outer antenna’s? The Engineers who came up with that idea must’ve been fired. Why would anyone want an RC that disconnects at DJI Spark range in 2024, plus the thumb sticks springs break easily, I see them listed on eBay now for $60-$100.

Sony is misleading people by calling the FX9 a "full frame" and it is not. It is NOT ''full frame". An actual "full frame" sensor or image is 36mm wide and 24mm high, same as the original 35mm film image. THIS camera is 35.7 wide (nearly the same width) BUT only 18.8 mm high a full 5.2mm almost 28%) LESS image than the true height of a full-frame image. What a lie to call it "FULL FRAME" when it is not. The original 36mm x 24mm is a different ratio and this is wider, but not as tall, to more conform to the traditional 1.5 ratio, close to the original 4:3 image size, similar to the original Hollywood Academy aspect ratio. This is a 1.88:1 ratio, not 1.37 or 1.67 (TV or Super 16) or even 1:85 Super 35, it is a different ratio but NOT full frame as we know it today. A marketing ploy but when you want to use the traditional 4:3 ratio you cannot without losing a fourth of the image area you HAVE with a true 24mm x36mm full frame. Shame on them for calling this Full Frame when it is not. Close, but not full frame.

I hate the ergonomics and menus of my fx6. Pretty much everything takes longer to do or set than in the mirrorless bodies. Playback is still shit. No 3.5mm in on the body is annoying but bothering me a bit less since owning the RODDE wireless pro. Then the internal ND could go a bit higher as in bright sunlight it's sometimes not enough. 6k would be cool and a RAW option that doesn't require Atomos. Also an open gate option would be appreciated. Overall I am still quite happy. But if the fx3 mII had internal NDs I would sell my fx6 without hesitation..

have you seen this...Firmware Ver. 5.00 Temporarily Suspended After investigation, Sony has confirmed an issue with ILME-FX6 System Software Ver. 5.00, which was released on May 28, 2024 (JST). After updating to Ver. 5.00 ,if you turn ON the power with the INPUT2 (audio input 2) switch set to LINE, the audio from CH2 may become unintended level. Due to this issue, we have suspended the download of ILME-FX6 System Software Ver. 5.00. We apologise for the inconvenience and will rectify the situation by releasing a corrected version as soon as possible.

To save the video files on the phone, or on a file, with ease of export, go to Settings, then Media, then "Save Clips to" where you'll find three options. Very good video and option! Thanks!

Terrific! I'm a Mac user. I was really struggling, trying to use AirDrop and Dropbox and Image Capture and then found this video. I then had trouble getting the Media folder to show up on my hard drive. I plugged in a large flash drive (WD 500 GB) I had and... success! With a half hour to spare before uploading an on-camera self-tape audition. Thank you!!

Just bought my first DJI. Avata 2. Crashed in 3 days....have refresh, let's see if they follow thru with their promises. I hope so. Not happy about having to send all my components back for this. What if they don't return to me? I'm not a rich man. Frustrated too that I was just hovering at 30 feet, came down and messed up the prop guard...so weak. Thanks for the video.

Hey! Regarding your top handle/bad audio issue: my first FX6 had this same issue out of the box brand new . . . I sent it in to Sony for warranty, and they found a failing PCB board in the XLR audio unit, which they replaced and sent back in about 10 days. I would suggest sending it in for warranty failure, as it seems (from a contact I have at one of the 2 largest camera store suppliers) that this is a common issue. FYI 👌🏻

Definitely! I was shopping that one but it’s a little heavy for my to lift in and out of the taco. I’m looking at spending a bit more on the Adicam to save about 15-20lbs… if I had a production van would definitely save the money. But spending the $4k on a cart vs $80k on a van is more in the budget for me lol

FYI your fan cut out is too big its would be easy for a person in remove it fron the outside and slip right in. I woulld have made 2 or 3 smaller fan opening and add more fans. I like to glass door divider from frt to back did u pay extra for it ? Now u r going to cove it. Ramp is to big have you thought about a lift that attaches to the outside back door without your ramp than u have in there u free up more shelf space and easy to move around and get your camera cart out I would get some hamper or more carts in there.

I was having the same issues as you had mentioned here and worst when filming indoors especially inside a mall . The auto focus has a mind of its own sometimes and drives me crazy. Im using a L mount with Sigma f1.4 35mm ART. Any advice out there ?
