Solo Senior Female sells condo to become fulltime nomad in 2 different rigs!!

Ойын-сауық

In this video a solo senior female named Joan shares why she decided to sell her condo in Florida and become a fulltime nomad and a tour of one of her rigs. Joan was already traveling and boondocking part of the year in her tiny house on wheels Dodge Caravan van conversion, but that wasn't enough for her. Joan wanted more freedom and to escape rising housing costs. So, she bought a trailer, a 2015 24ft Aspen Trail, and turned her passion for travel into a fulltime lifestyle a few months ago. But, Joan is doing rv living very differently from most. She actually lives in two separate vehicles during different times of the year. I think her reasons for doing so are brilliant. Let me know in the comments what you think of how Joan lives her life on the road.
If you haven't subscribed you will want to do so right away so you won't miss part two of this interview where I share a tour of her 2nd home on the road. And, do.hit that LIKE button to help thr channel and me to bring you more great content like thism

I've been living in the Philippines for 8 years now. At age 62 I'm just starting to get my social security benefits. I understand that living abroad isn't for everyone. My rent is 215 dollars per month in a gated and guarded community. I go back to the USA about twice per year for 1 or 2 months at a time. While in the US I generally live in my car that I put in storage while in the Philippines. I've met several people on social security living in the Philippines because they can't afford living in their home country.

I have always liked the idea of 2 different living spaces. I did not consider a trailer. I was thinking about a tiny home. Then you do not have the address issue when you’re on the road. Lots of options.

I knew it when I heard it! "Hi, Carol. Howyadoowin'?" I'm 30 yeeyas gone from LI, NY. I usually soften my voice when I talk...but when I get goin' it just flows. When I'm registering kids at my school and I get the handful from NY, the parents can hear it right from the start. The funny part is when they say after 30 years, you'd think the accent would be gone...fuhgeddaboudit!🤣 Nevahgonnaloseit! I am so grateful that this channel found me about a month ago. My OCD would not let me watch it out of order 🤪 So I had to go back to the beginning. And now, today, April 14, 2024, I'm finally here!🎉 Looking forward to implementing some options and looking at more opportunities as I scale down and prepare for my next venture. ~Thank you G.L.O.W. 🚐☁️☁️

I have been a camper/back-packer and traveler for my whole life. Now I will be traveling whenever it pleases me in my SUV and camping wherever I want to spend time. Am so glad to see Joan is doing something similar. Hopefully, other nomads will see this way as an option too.

It's ridiculous what happened to homeowners insurance in FL. I was paying about $2500 a year just a few years ago, and now it's over $11k a year and I have a mortgage so there is no other option for me. A lot of people can't get insurance if they're home is built before 2005. I'm at the point of selling but I have to do repairs first. I'm thinking of doing nomad until I find where I want to live. I have so many memories in my home if family that is gone and I hate to part with that but I'm done suffering to live like this. Our politicians have absolutely failed us.

Hi there Carol. I wanted to bring something up to you because I have no idea why you ask this question. In this video Joan was sharing how the freedom of not knowing or planning the future is her favorite aspect of being a Nomad. Here is my question for you. On at least 2 times you asked Joan, so what do you plan to do.....? And then the same question you asked again about some future issue. I said to myself, Carol, She is living the nomadic life, and what is the best part of the life style IS THE GIFT OF NOT HAVING TO PLAN AND HAVE YOUR FUTURE FIGURED OUT. I wish you didn't ask those questions especially when the person has said they are enjoying the freedom this life brings!! Please know how much I admire you and LOVE what you bring to your demographic. Bless you Carol. ❤

Hello, No offense taken. Thank you for your comment. Maybe I didn't clearly distinguish between the two questions. Initially I was asking what Joan's plans were meaning Immediate plans. I ask that because I have many viewers who are planning to become nomads Some by choice some due to circumstance. Many of them have no idea what to do or how to go about deciding where to go when they hit the road. I have many who have asked where nomads go when it is too hot in Arizona. This question was for those viewers. The second question was meant as what Joan's plans are when she can no longer travel. There are many who simply enjoy going about without any thought to the future enjoying the present. But there are many who are anxious about what they will do when they can no longer drive. Any information that can be a help I would like to provide. The ultimate nomad out there, Bob Wells, and I have discussed this at length in a video. So, it is a concern. Hopefully this answers why I ask this question and will continue to do so.

@@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 Hi Carol. First off thank you so much for taking your time and energy to sending a very thoughtful reply. I read your reply very carefully and I must say Carol you make excellent points. I think part of what it is, is when we're dealing with people who are seniors they tend to be asking The questions from the place that you ask them do you know what I mean? For instance I watch a lot of nomad videos. Much less since I've become disabled and can no longer do it myself. But the younger People are all about not having a schedule living life in the moment and you end up where life goes and you'll end up where you're meant to be. And I appreciate that very much. I did not take into consideration About what you answered me. So thank you very much for opening my eyes and letting me know that people want to make plans. They want to know what will happen if they become sick etc. I get it now. As for me I'm 65 years and I'm still a nomad at heart. I still live in my RV. I don't travel at all because I can't do anything I am bed-bound and in horrific pain. And life has a way of throwing a massive curve ball when you least expect it. Now I just wanted to say even at my age I tend to be The kind of person that feels it's best that life unfolds and I will do what I feel, and how I feel the Holy Spirit is guiding me. And I still live a more kind of unscheduled unplanned life. So I guess I thought More nomads live like that I didn't know till I read your reply that people actually get concerned about things if they happen or things if they don't happen. I try my best to just trust God And take the next right step. But that is me. Again Carol, I want to say thank you so much for talking and being there for the demographics that I am in, we all maybe do it a little differently but I really love you as a person and your heart is gold Thank you again for an eye-opening reply. thank you for not getting defensive and rude and mean. I did not mean it that way. take care be safe and God bless you.

Agree with the idea of having a plan in place, some sort of a plan, just in case something happens. Gloria, I could tell you stories, as a retired nurse, of people who were living fine on their own on Monday morning, and by Monday night, their world had changed. Hospitals don't keep patients long, nursing homes are full (even if you have money ($10,000+/- monthly). A good idea to ask, and it brings awareness that people need to have some sort of plan, even a loose idea. We seniors just can't stick our heads in the sand and pretend we will always be "fine."

@@teresaforsyth6185 I totally understand NOT STICKING OUR HEADS IN THE SAND. I was only looking at the other side of the coin. I NEVER had plans because I know if something changes, I trust taking the next step forward. Bles you
