Simon is the goat I like how he understands that every country in the world is different and should be approached with a level of respect and decency. Football is a game played across the world in different nations and cultures. But the game we all love is still the same. World Cup is usually a time and chance too embrace and enjoy different cultures, so the BBC deciding to not show the opening ceremony was so disappointing and quite frankly pathetic from them.

I worked in Qatar and I can tell you the country's people were great they went out of their way to make me feel welcome. On my first day in the country I was deposited in a company house and I ran out of cigarettes, I had no local currency and when I went looking for a currency converter to buy some. A local who was washing his car politely informed me that they would all be closed as it was the Sabbath. He then presented me with £25 worth of local money to get my cigarettes, I don't think that gesture would happen in many places. And yes I paid him back 2 days later, and I've been off the smokes for 13 years..

I think Jim deserves a lot of credit too , there's something I find brilliant about the friendship they have. Talksport doing things right , unlike the BBC!!

Except they did show it (via the Red Button, the BBC website and on the iPlayer). It was also the first time they had ever shown a World Cup Opening Ceremony live in it's entirety.

Simon Jordan is good But he's talking utter nonsense as the opening ceremony was clearly being shown... just press the red button wasn't difficult you had a choice to either listen to the whole politics stance or watch a bland opening ceremony

I had got my 4 year old daughter excited to see the opening ceremony, told her there would be singing, dancing, fireworks etc…..well, you know what we got instead. SHAME on you BBC and all the pundits involved in that hour of absolute drivel….should those debates be had, questions asked and concerns raised, YES, but not on this platform….save it for the news programs and talk shows

Over recent days, every sports show / sports youtuber was talking about this. Any public caller who suggested that the show should focus on football was berated by the hosts. This is mad!

They even tried some crap about English fans waiting hours to get in a and zoomed on empty seats 1 hrs before game kick off , that's the case in every stadium , but then never mention the full crowd when the game started,
