Hard to believe, right? Sometime a series dies never to return. Thinking about Childhood Games like Alundra or Jade Cocoon. It's hard to believe that it took 9 years of waiting before seeing Rune Factory coming back to live (going by Japanese Release Dates here). I'm so utterly happy and can't wait to get my hands on my copy on Friday. ♥ Let's hope this will be a new foundation for a bright future for the RF Series!

@Shoka Lgbt I'm totally pro Homosexuality and whatever else. But we can't, and shouldn't, start to put all of our very own expectations and needs on every Developer out there. It's up to Developers how they want to make their Games. Is it nice to have more open Relationship Options in these Games? Yes! But do they have to do it? No! I grew up with Harvest Moon where I could only play as a Boy and could only marry a Girl. I'm a Female. A Heterosexual one. Has it EVER bothered me that I can only play as a Guy? No! Because it's just a Game. I found a sweet Girl, Nina, in Harvest Moon for the SNES. I simply saw myself in her and was able to fully enjoy the Game. Besides: You are aware that Gay Marriage is possible in Rune Factory 5, yes? If you can't enjoy a Game just because it has no homosexual options then skip it and turn to Stardew Valley or the upcoming Coral Island. There's tons of great Farm-Life-Sims on the way that will allow you to have Gay Marriage. Japan is still rather homophobic. It's part of their culture. They're changing. But that won't happen overnight. Japan is their prime market so the opinions of Japanese Players matters first. Must not even be the whole Studio that is against Gay Marriage but simply a Marketing Choice to increase sales and reduce possible shitstorm from Japanese Media. They also removed Rival Marriage from the Story of Seasons Games because the Japanese Culture hates it.

Are you talking about the Earth mate Edition? I had preordered mine from Best Buy MONTHS ago and I got a call from my local one saying they weren't getting it yesterday so I had to preorder it yesterday on Amazon and thank god they still had some because it was sold out everywhere else lol. I'm so excited to get it today. Hope everybody has fun with it :D

this game still feel surreal damn Ive played all RF games, it's like my 2nd most favorite franchise ever, the fact it's getting a new entry after all these years and events... really hope it does well so we can continue having RF games (also bring back ragna, Mikaah and Kyle as cameo, I want to see them again ;_; )

Ragna will be in his 40s or so if he did appear in 5 given about 14 total years passed to get to the end of 2, barret looking older in 4, and the 4 characters looking mature in 5

I just play 2 3 and 4 but I love the games so I can't wait to play this one (tried 1 but I didn't like that when you drop something to the floor it would immediately disappear)

I don't know whether RF4 can be surpassed - hands down my all time favourite farm-sim, and I've been playing those since the first Harvest Moon on SNES. But I'm simply just so *happy* that this series got resurrected that I'll gladly vote with my wallet right away.

Honestly i love it more than RF4S. The characters are even more funny than before. The writting is amazing really. I just have issue with technical side of RF5 which are frame-rate drops (very notceable in combat, and when you enter or leave building). Overall amazing game.

@@ShanFindsPixels the combat and farming is so clunky though. Most notably farming where its so easy to missclick only for the Hammer to kill crops after the stone is done and the character dashes from plant to plant often not going in the direction you want it.. And the slow and so far easy combat with the huge flat defence from lvls.. Think i like the fluent topdown combat a lot more. But havnt played too deep into it so we will see. Writing seems to be a bit better.

Rune factory is one of my favorite franchies. I CANNOT wait to get my special edition when I get off work.

Only problem I have with the game is it's frames dropping so hard fighting mobs, being in town, in a house. It makes it hard to look at the game.

I remember when they announced this game in 2020. I've never played a Rune Factory but it seemed really interesting. Then it was delayed from 2021 to 2022 and it's finally here. I might buy it because, again, it seems really interesting

It's been a while huh. I played RF1 2 and 3.

For some reason, only a single copy was given to any of my local stores, so much for getting it on launch day

Man. I almost forgot about this game. Thankfully I was reminded when I looked up my pre-order and was surprised that it's arriving soon. Can't wait to play this game after work.

I love Rune Factory. So excited to play this one. There are some problems with it (Its a bit laggy in some places?) but i just love this game series so much, rune factory 4 is one of my favorite games ever. Really happy that the series is continuing on.

I'm picking my copy of the Earthmate addition up after work. Cant wait to sink hundreds of hours into this game! Hopefully half of those aren't going to me just trying to figure out how to crafting/smithing system works, like in rf4.

My Time At Portia is like Rune Factory. Story of Seasons (before called harvest Moon and RF are made by same devs, company. Rune Factory series are spin off of Story of Seasons. :D

Ok so I've been playing this for some time and I must say...I really enjoy this game. The characters, dialogue, farming, and combat are all super fun. I love the fact we get more options in marriage candidates regardless of the MC gender. Oh, and we can have 3 children in this game! How amazing is that?! Now, the game does have flaws as well such as laggy loading screens, pop in's in the town/environments, and the graphics are kinda...not the greatest. However, I still love the game nonetheless and if a RF6 happens in the future (which I desperately hope it does), then I hope the technical/performance and graphics will be improved. Overall, very good game! Highly recommended!👍❤💕💕

Gonna wait review if this game has lot of bug performance or not, but happy to see rune factory again

All games take place in the same world but aren't related. Gameplay is like Harvest Moon (it was originally a HM spinoff!) with additional RPG mechanics.

You can go straight to RF5. But i would recommend play first RF4 Special since there are 2 characters coming from RF4 to RF5 and you get also some goodies if you have save file from RF4 on Switch, so you get outfits from RF4 in RF5

Nope. Last patch was in Japan on February with one hot fix. I really do hope Hakama will now start on more patches since the game released everywhere now.
