From an artistic standpoint this is a carbon copy of Hollow knight and is in no way original. Same mechanics and enemy attacks and sounds like they literally copy pasted voice sound effects and whatnot.

@@Faine212 There are indeed a lot of borrowed mechanics from Hollow Knight but the music, enemy design, story, and overall aesthetic look neat and original. I’ve seen other metroidvanias that look & feel way more derivative of HK than this.

@@benhmedia what story? The trailer does nothing more than deliver edgy one liners without context in a world that’s so jarringly disjointed in it’s own theme that it just clashes harshly against itself, seems like a project that aimed too high wishing to be HK

The moveset reminds me of Hollow Knight, but this definitely has its own thing going on.

I think the hollow knight comparisons are definitely warranted, but this still looks different enough to be it's own thing :D We've gotten to the point waiting for Silksong that people are just deciding to make their own

I wanna erase this comment from my memory.

I thought it would be one of those games that are awesome but super short , but that metroid-like map gave me hope.

Since we ain't getting silk song for another couple years I'll try this out for now.

I've read the comments and guys can you stop comparing every new metroidvania to hollow knight when you see a pogo? I mean look at Haiku the robot, it's a really good game! This game looks good and we haven't seen a lot about it yet, it has a lot of potential and possibilities and looks like it would be on the psycologic side too, it gave me a "trapped in your own mind" kinda feeling which is intriguing on its own; the characters and a bit of the events shown (like the one where you can answer a question in two different ways) seem humoristic like undertale, and I don't think there's any need to explain why that's a good thing. Also the blue platform is an environment-changing ability which are rarely seen since players usually break the game with those, and it would be interesting to see how they designed the game around that and maybe other abilities like that

This Silksong looks awesome.

Feel pretty unsure about this one, it’s obviously playing off of hollow knights gameplay to the point that it feels more like a copy than an inspiration, map design looks intriguing but almost too abstract and the art direction feels like it really wants to be a dark and edgy introspective ala dark souls without much storytelling up front but I doubt they can actually come up with an interesting concept enough to make all the abstract ideas interesting (you know kinda how hollow knight was able to pull off that perfect feeling with minimalist design) I might be overly pessimistic over a 2 min trailer without much context but it just runs me the wrong way in almost every way, will have to see how it turns out in the end

@@ogeans Maybe it didnt but you can clearly see the movements look the exact same as in HK. Its not inspired. Its a direct copy. The slashes, down pogo and just general movement was taken from Hollow Knight. Dont get what you mean by inventing metroidvania genre.. this game is a cheap carbon copy of HK's movement. Don't get how some people cant clearly see it. There is a difference between using someone elses idea to forge your own vs copy and pasting or in other words plagerizing another idea to make it your own.

Please add all the rest of the classic consoles and classic games coming to Nintendo Switch Online Service soon and thanks

Looks neat but doesn't look like they didn't change the font size for the switch as this is on PC and they should change it for switch handheld to make it easier to read text .
