I never played the original games when they first came out, cuz I never had a PS2 back then, but I did watch one of the anime series on Toonami back then and absolutely loved it.

Hope you enjoy the game, I loved these games and still play it in PS5. Remember that this game was a ps2 game originally, so the combat might be as action packed as you’d like compared to newer ARPGs but I feel like it’s a part of the charm. Story is good. My only gripe might be that the cast isn’t as wide as the original Dot Hack quadology, and in the GU games you really rely on 3 characters for most the story.

If you never played this game you should give it a chance. Such an amazing story!

Hopefully Bandai Namco will remaster the original IMOQ games and promote new .hack anime or movies about Blackrose from the Another Birth manga novels!

Give us more of those beloved and truly underappreciated franchise. How is it I can see 9999 SAO and SAO clones making game after game and not get a single new .hack game?

You aren’t wrong. I get that SAO is big but.hack could have STAYED relevant of the companies kept expectations in check and kept making say spinoff titles

@@morriganrenfield8240 I think the fact we never got .Hack//Link says a lot. Dot hack just isn’t as popular as the fans think it is. I had a hacked PSP at the time and to put things in perspective a lot of games would be Japan exclusive but fans would work on English patches for them. Monster Hunter, Dissidia, Etc. However, when link came there wasnt an English patch for years. The fan base just isn’t that big.

because SAO, as awful as it is, tickles the fancy of japan and that's why everytime I turn I find out there's another spinoff, sequel, etc.

There are maybe 30 or less SAO games. Games with a similar story and gameplay are even less. There are many JRPG games and very few are a clone of SAO.

Really recommend this remaster to JRPGS fan,the story is amazing and the gameplay might be a little rough around the edges but still really enjoyable, this is truly a hidden gem and you guys won't be disappointed

the master piece sao will never be.

I think the fact this will be portable is what seals it for me to buy, love this game

Yes. Hopefully, people buying this will have the original games ported too.

there was a survey put out on if fans wanted more to sure many asked and said yes which ports of the PS2 games were deff that. Many IP's are sitting there the dev's surely know the demand just don't want to "let's bring it back cause money" but that's why we keep getting remasters so who knows. Also, gotta hope the code is still around.

Fun fact, the 4th game dot Hack//Quarantine is the third most expensive Ps2 game I mean I know no one would play it on an actual Ps2, but that's just saying how inaccessible those first series are

I’ve just been thinking .hack series !! I’ve yet to play this game, still have a few copies of the OG ones that were for the PS2 :0

I'm playing it now on the switch and am loving it, I feel the kind nostalgic Sci-fi set and tone.. reminds me to my childhood exploring the new world of video games and technology in the late 90's and early 2000's

I never undestood the .Hack series. It's like the story jump all over the place.

Yes! So glad some to see .hack coming to Switch! Can't wait for my .hack G.U. Begins Edition to come in now that it's shipped! Here's to hoping this does well and we see more .hack in the future 😁

In this case, it's quite literal because of a certain action a certain thing does to them all one after another. Also because of character growth over 3 games

Played this on ps2 and finished it...got it on ps4/5 and got the platinum trophy...looks like I'm doin it again!! Love this gsme so much

I think that after the ps2, the switch might be the best rpg console currently. Still many awesome games missing though.

This re-release is a test from BamCo to see if the west still is interested in .hack, that's why people need to vote with their wallets. The gameplay in IMOQ is too sharp on the edges for them to recieve a "simple" remaster. To sell well, they'll need a full remake

i'm playing this on PC to i watched my bro play the OG games way back when *most y'all going what's this game prob weren't born or too young* but hope this does well but it sells well on PC every now and then during sales plus with the survey put out they'll see the demand!
