My full.length 22" barrel ruger american rim fire rifle in standard configuration was $330.00 plus tax & nix check here in n.y. maybe I got lucky & got one that was made when all the best people were working that day,but I dont think so cause I have the exact same gun in .22wmagnum & both function flawless & are incredible accurate right out of the box with just a little experimentation with commonly available .22 cal amo. & a cheap Simon 3x9 scope on both. I get groups that would piss off life long .22 cal comp shooters with Anschutz rifles & 1000's more dollars invested in the sport. Seriously now. The .22 mag likes cci vmax fmj 40gr high velocity rounds. At 100 yrds there hit over lapping the same hole most of the time,if not then with in a 1/4" any direction you go. The 22lr likes cci quiets 40gr,lrn 1070 fps,or standard cci 22lr in the same spec range as well as mini mags copper plated high velocity in 36 or 40 gr bullet weights. Gives the same groups as the .22mag does at 100 yrds but at 50 yrds. As I said, maybe I got lucky, either way I wont part with either gun for any amount of money.

I adjusted my trigger by not only removing the adjustment Allen screw but also removing the spring that sits behind that screw. The trigger breaks sub one pound.

I don’t think you should fault the trigger on this gun since it is not intended for the precision/target market. It is fair to complain about the same trigger on the Target model, but that’s the Target gun, not this one. Was hoping to see some actual accuracy work.

I totally agree with you. This gun wasn't made for Target competition so why run the gun down. I think it's a 5 STAR 🌟

Disassemble and clean the magazine, when reassembling it don’t rewind the magazine as tight had to do that for mine worked like a champ.

I just replaced the trigger spring with a lighter one, and got trigger pull down to 2 pounds and could adjust it to less than that, but I figured that 2 pounds was good enough for a starting point.

Check out the trigger pen spring hack for the Ruger American Rimfire. I have a Ruger American Target model and I love it but I thought the trigger was unnecessarily heavy as well. Theres a video explaining how to change the trigger adjustment spring out with a pen spring and it works perfectly. It dropped mine from over 3lbs to almost exactly 1lbs. Usually I dont like weird stuff like that but it is a perfect fit and I’ve bumped it, slammed it, pulled the trigger without depressing the blade first and its never unintentionally fired. I was looking at buying the Timney trigger group made specifically for the RARFs but I saved $140 and got damn close to the same results.

I’m considering this rifle or the target model and the trigger is also a concern to me. I have seen a replacement spring that can take the pull down to 2 lbs but don’t know if that would be allowed or not for your intended use for NRL22.

Mine shoots amazing groups with Fed ultra match. Hard to find that ammo and harder to pay for. Unfortunately the rifle is nothing near my 457. It will be a good squirrel rifle tho.

Negative. I don’t buy $3000 scopes to get great glass only to ruin the view with safety glasses. I wear them with ARs and pistols, but not when the bullet is hitting steel 3/4 of a mile away.

@@PrecisionRifleNetwork "great glass only to ruin the view with safety glasses" What a poor excuse. One day, you may regret those words. If you are spending $3000 bucks on a scope, then you can surely afford a good set of safety glasses that doesn`t change your vision looking through that $3000 scope.
