It took me a few years to get consistent sub-MOA target results @ 50 yds with 22's. Best advice given to me was by a shop Owner who told me to stick to 40gr lead round nose ammo and stay away from anything over 1250 fps muzzle velocity. Since I shoot a couple of times a week, I stay away from high end ammo like Eley, Lapua or SK due to high cost when I'm shooting 150-200 rounds per outing. I would dump all the ammo in this video and would recommend CCI std velocity for 50 yds and Federal HV Match, BBM or SK Magazine (tin) for out to 100 yds. If you really want to be impressed with shooting a 22, I'd dump the Ruger and pick up a 16" CZ MTR - you will not be disappointed with the results the extra money you spend will get you. You'll be hitting 1" to 1.5" groupings all day long.

I was surprised at how well you can shoot with that Redfield scope. Nice one! The Mini Mags pleasantly surprised me too with that tight grouping. Well done, and Thanks!

I have had only one .22 rifle out of the many that would accurately shoot stingers and that was a Remington 22 pump. Good video thanks…

All respect for both rifle and shooter, job well done boyo! Hey, I really like your videos buddy. Simple tests who shows about all you need to know. Decent paint job as well. Velocitor is awesome ammo and that was even the result in the latest video as well. Stay safe!

I still have my very first rifle. My dad gave it to me on my birthday in 1969. Shoots short, long, and long rifle. Winchester .22 bolt. But anyone knows from back then, we never had .22 ammo like the CC'Is today. This newer .22 sonic stuff is unreal. Shooting 165 yards right on. It's awesome!!

My full length ruger american rim fire 22lr loves cci quiets in a lead round nose 40 gr. 1070 fps. As well as standard cci velocity 40gr. Lead round nose 1070 fps same as the quiet version. I mention this because when say loves them,I do not kid you at all. At 50 yrds benched with a cheap 3x9 Simon's scope it piles 10 rounds of each in a group you could cover with 1/2 out side dia washer or know as a 1/4 washer ,every time. Most of the shots piled in the center so tight, say 7 to 8 rounds, that they would cover with a big green pea. 5/16"? This is ideal coyote gun here in n.y. that is what your looking for. 10 rounds consistantly in 1" or less at 100 yrds & smaller yet at 50 yrds. Namely because a 22lr is really a head shot only gun for not only coyotes, but plenty of other game animals as well. I wont argue about 56 years of my experience. If you want to be successful & retrieve your kill, you have to be humane. It's just like trapping. Humane & success goes hand in hand. I repeat. The 22lr is a headshot only gun ( best at 50 yrds) for many different stubborn tough hard to kill & trauma resistant type varmints, if you want success & a humane kill, its a head shot only varmint weapon. Coyotes, woodchucks, raccoons, bobcats, fox ect. Even squirrels with good body shots & their hearts knock right out of them have scrambled 8 feet & down a hole under the roots of a near by tree on me,lost for ever. If the gun & amo produce fine groups, dont pull the trigger on body shots unless you like to search all day,be disappointed, feel bad & wonder? If you had time & opportunity to site in on the vitals then you had time to site in on the head, ear or between the eyes didn't you? Be human,be successful out there & be safe, good luck to you all.

I well remember when the CCI Stingers came out back in the 70s. They were a big disappointment because they would not anchor a rock chuck as reliably as the mini-mags would and even back then, they didn't shoot well. For some reason, this video reminded me of an old Remington model 34 that I had completely refurbished back in the 80s... what a great shooting rifle that was. I've been looking at the Ruger American rimfire for a knock-around 22, but recently a CZ MTR drained my gun fund to the point that I have to keep looking for a while yet! :) Thanks for another great video!

I found by wrapping the rear lug with metal tape making it tighter fit. And 35ip on screws dialed mine in. Also use a Boyd's stock. Sanded to freefloat. Took thousands of rounds to figure out. 1" groups at 100yrds norma black box.

Not horrible at 50 yards, but to me rimfire is only fun if it's accurate. I have a Ruger American Target in 17hmr and with most 17 grain ammo, it's a tac driver out to like 150 yards. I was hoping for more from their 22lr line. Can't find the Target models in stock ANYWHERE!. I don't think they even make them anymore.

@@ChuckinTV The cci standard velocity cartridges in the old dark blue packaging were much better. I collected one arc minute with them. In the new blue packaging, these cartridges are terrible, the powder filling is not accurate, you can even hear it in the sound of the shot. Accordingly, the result on the target is appropriate.
