I just got one of these last week. It'll be an alternate to my old Remington 582 bolt action. I retain the iron sights on my old Remington which I've never put a scope on but on my new Ruger, I'll put some sort of Leupold Rimfire scope on it. Been a busy week at work so hopefully I can get it dirty sometime this weekend. My only gripe thus far is the 10/22 rear sight. Not a fan of it even though I'm used to shooting it on my 10/22. If nothing else, I just wish it wasn't so far forward but since I'm gonna put a scope on it anyways, no biggie. Thankfully I already have lots of 10/22 rotary mags so I'm all set there. That's the main reason I went with the Ruger instead of Savage or some other company as I didn't want to spend a bunch of extra money on even more mags. Not planning on doing anything "Gucci" to mine either though if Magpul ever comes out with a stock for the American Rimfire rifle, I'd probably get it as I have their stocks on my 10/22 and it came with my American Hunter 308 bolt action. Plus most of my other firearms that I added their stuff to where available.

For the price of a pump air gun, this gun is awesome. Mine is incredibly well made and precision too. 22 lr was never meant to be a long range round (hope you have other guns for that purpose). I've always preferred synthetic stocks. Wood just gets beat up. I love this gun.

Yeah mine also is a pretty good shooter for what it is. With the open sights im able to hit my 10in steel at 200 yrds. That (long distance) for me with a rimfire. Ive never really liked the syn stocks i e always liked wood but its not worth restocking this rifle. And thats why they make about a million different kinds of (parts) everyone likes something different. Thanks for the comment. Your awesome

Not bad rifles foe the price at all

I just picked one up had same issue with magazine but after a few loadings seems fine now. Was using remington bucket ammo 1" groups at 50yds. Does the stock along the barrel look like it almost touches one side or another on your rifle? Mine does but can run a dollar bill freely between stock & barrel. Over all it's a nice package for $200, got mine on sale as well.

Mine barrel was like that. Simple fix. Loosen the stock from the receiver. Move the stock center and lightly tighten the take down bolt while makeing sure the stock doesn't move to one side. Great question

Good review! The gun is not worthy of a Boyd's stock, just leave as is. It's not gonna improve accuracy as I thought the plastic was limiting mine. It's still just a mid range plinker nothing fancy,

Great little review, man. I just picked one of these suckers up for $400 (because CA is straight bull$hit) and I'm excited to get out and shoot it. Have you fired hollow points through it at all? I noticed a big difference in accuracy with my old Franchi gallery, but I can't say that's standard given the fact the gun itself is 53 years old and likely had very different construction methods.

Ive been shooting Hrn17gr mine groups 17gr better than the 20gr HMR ammo. They are neat rifles. I shot mine for the video and honestly cleaned it and put it back in the box i bought it as a collective gun more than a hunting rifle. I do have a M77/17hmr that i use i just havent gotten around to doing a video on it yet.

Nice gun. Your video on the Talo edition inspired me to buy a Talo edition in 22lr. Which one of your two Americans do you like better? This one or Talo?

Where did you buy it? I've got my eye on the same model, and figured we're close enough to memorial day I may as well wait for those sales. Under $200 is crazy though!

I got mine at a local dealer ive used for years. I dont think your gonna find them for under $200 anymore but keep an eye you never know.

The issue with .22 rim fire today is you don't really know where and to what standard it's made. I find a lot of imported stuff is dirty lots,of residue and inaccurate. Stick with the true American made stuff for plinking. Lapua for target work. Thanks for sparing your subscribers the grief of an unboxing. I think we can all take a gun from a box and look at the goodies.

Yeah ice noticed over the past 4 years or so rimfire ammo is becoming a hit or miss. Youll get a handfull of underloaded or overloaded shells in a box. I mean rimfire stuff is what it is. You are very welcome. Have a good one

What is the barrel length, none of you guys do an actual review BECAUSE none of you tell barrel length. And Winchester WHAT ? What grain solid or hollow point standard velocity ?

This model is a 22in barrel they are only made in 2 lengths an 18 and 22. Im pretty sure in my video i said Winchester white box which are only 36gr HP hollow point. I have a shooting video on the channel that goes into this detail.....

Also when you say people do not do a real review BECAUSE a specific part wasnt addressed its normally due to in this case they come in a 18 or 22in barrel that most viewers can tell the difference buy looking at if the barrel looks short or not hints only 2 lengths made (at the time of the video) and im sure i said Winchester white box in the video if not thats on me. But Winchester white box 22lr is only 36gr HP HV ammo. That i know of ......... Thank you for the interest and helpful comment it can help me to grow and better my videos on youtube.
