He did respect Soulman because Rocky just like Brody was one of the boys who worked his ass off breaking barriers in region territories which Brody knew had to be extra hard for him being a black man in that time.

Look at Brody in the ring compared to everyone else. What a beast he was!

Now they're both putting on a wrestling match in front of all the legends who have passed on to the next life. 🙏

This is an incredible match! With the passing of Mr. Johnson, I am glad I now have the opportunity to see this match as I have never seen this one. Rocky was truly action personified in the ring regardless of who his opponent was.

To those of you who grew up on WWF/WWE stop judging these guys wrestling ability off of this match , this was for the brass knuckles championship, it was not meant to be a wrestling match , this was meant to be a brawl. All the good scientific matches these guys had in their careers you might want to actually learn about wrestling outside of WWF/WWE cartoon crap . Once upon a time the WWF had real wrestling also, but Vince Jr slowly but surely brought that to an end.

325lbs! Brody was so thick! and look at that awesome head of hair., Brody was a BIG BADASS BEAST!..

All three of the started in wccw in the Dallas sportatorium including Bronco Lubavitch who was the wrestler before then although I don't think he was a very good one

It was such a better world back then.....So SO Much better!!

BRODY WAS HUGE THERE.

Bronco was probably the SLOOOOOOWEST ref in the business!

According to Dave Meltzer, Brody was trimmed down later because he realized that after facing Jumbo Tsuruta, who was very athletic wrestler, several times in the late 70's～early in the 80's, he would have to do so for fighting against him again for AJPW's heavy weight title(NWA international heavy) in the 60min full match in the early 80's to come.

I found out Bruiser Brody was weighing at 325-330 at this time; while in the 80's he leaned upnto be around 280's-290's

He started lean about 265lbs but within a year or two he was 330lbs . Most of hia career though he had stopped being a weight lifter and started ftaining with heavy bags and passive resistence that is good for tendon strength and joint health . His weight was usually about 285 lbs . He was 6'5" so this weight was enough to be strong and inmosing without being hard on his frame . He was a very bright guy . He was incredibly frugal on the road , he invested well , did very shrewd business . Although some of his habits were short term losers he was set up to own a territory in his 50s . He had plans .

Brody has lot of respect for Rocky Johnson it really shows Rocky was solid very cool. I used to hang out with Rocky every Friday Night when he worked for Don Owens Portland Wrestling.

Yes and no one mentions hardly that Brody also died murdered before his time in a cowardly knife attack and the few people that were willing to testify or subpoena the day after the trial so the man walked out of court a free man Bruiser Brody and bronco lubich got their start in Dallas Texas where they wrestled every Friday in the Dallas sportatorium

If Hulk Hogan didn't get the role of Thunderlips in Rocky 3, Bruiser would've been perfect!

All this time I didn't realize Brody WAS one of my favorite wrestlers of ALL TIME. Super tough. Not a good guy OR a bad guy. He took on all comers. Just a brawler.

The closest anyone has come to appearing as tough as Brody was John Nord but hw copied him too precisely . He was actually a bit bigger than Brody and was a helluva tribute to him but it did not get over with the fans . Shame because that guy was awesome .

interesting to see brody actually selling for someone however rocky johnsons got nothing on his sons performances.

I wondered how much he benched? His max deadlift and squats? Must've been pretty heavy. Actually both these guys looked like power houses.
