Two of the NWA's toughest wrestlers and two of the best managers in a well-told story. Great stuff.

I was watching an interview with Kevin Sullivan who was telling stories about just how legitimate a badass Mark Lewin was. After about 10 minutes of talking about how Lewin would rip guys heads off and shit down their necks, the interviewer said something like “oh, so he was as bad as Haku?“ Sullivan was like “well let’s not get carried away“…🤣🤣

Lewin in tremendous shape at age 43. I'm no expert but he looks natural to me, i.e. no steroids. Kicking the opposing heel manager's ass and then his own heel manager in the same match has to be a rare if ever occurrence. My compliments to the script writer.

Good match between two greats with two of the best managers ever. Solid refereeing by the legendary Bronco Lubich. Lubich was quite the wrestler in the 1950s and 1960s.

Mark Lewin was in better shape in the 80's than what he was during the early to mid 70's, Festival Hall in Melbourne Australia was the place to be. Saturday nights at the Hall and Sunday on GTV9 Television

Saw Tanaka in Tyler, Texas about this same time. I couldn't understand how almost no one there even realized they were seeing one of the greatest movie villains of all time. Tanaka played Oddjob in James Bond.

Before Tanaka was a Pro wrestler he had a short run as a professional boxer, his record was 3-2, he also ran a Judo/Jujitsu school and was a sergeant in the army. He served three months in jail when he was 18/19 for using strong arming tactics as a bouncer.

The story telling in this match is absolutely fascinating. You have the dynamic of heel vs heel and heel manager vs heel manager. You also have the furthering of the Mark Lewin face turn. Hart and Lewin did a great job through their actions of furthering the Lewin babyface turn whereas today you would have lousy backstage segments with pointless comedy and the face looks worse coming out of it.

Ridiculous ending......I love the way Mark made sure to turn on the mike.....Same routine. Get knocked outside the ring. Blade on the floor unnoticed.....and return to ring. Gary Hart was a great businessman. He was the chief booker for all the Texas shows.......Paul Boesch was the promoter and TV commentator......They did a great job!

Looking at earlier footage, you get to hear this great man speak. After his heel run with Gary Hart, he was a fan favorite in Texas but still had an obligation with Mephisto over in Atlanta(GCW) that same year. I much rather had Mark been a hero there as well standing along side Mr. Wrestling ll, Tommy Rich, Tony Atlas & Steve O.

.... I'd let him use my face as a punching-bag workout for his bulge AFTER each of his matches at this time...just kneeling there, arms hanging limply at my sides, as Mark holds onto my head by a fistful of hair while roughly beatin-up my face with his bulge...until he satisfies his "wrestling-itch" through his trunks, with my dick-bulge beaten face.... epitome of an alpha-masculine wrestler
