For many years Mark Lewin wrestled as a baby face down here in Australia and Brody was a heel Gary Heart was the heel manager and the best one we ever had down here in the 1960s /70s it was a different scene down under. Thank you for posting this and reminding me why I loved wrestling.

The funny thing is they were training buddys. I'm sure they were together the next morning using every 45 lb. plate in the gym while they squated!

In Gary Hart's book he talks about how Brody and Lewin worked out together at an old school gym and ate breakfast together afterward. It pissed Fritz off and Hart told them they couldn't do that but they were great friends and kept doing it anyway. You can listen to the book on KZread...super interesting.

In the 70's, my best friend, my brother & I would always watch Maniac Mark Lewin fight The Spoiler, Bruiser Brody and The Von Eriks at the Dallas Coliseum every weekend on TV. Then we'd reenact everything in our living room. GR8 times!!

The size of them Both. I guess this is before Brody started doing his Open Contract signings. He never committed to any Federation after his early years. He looks so muscle bound here.Two hard core guys!

I am starting to say ITS THE OLD SCHOOL Lighting that makes this GREAT. The current fights are now under spotlights. A little darkness to the battle leads the mind to fill in the "brutal" details.

Loved Mark Lewin. I watched him wrestle live in New Zealand when I was about 6 or 7 years old. Another fave at the time was High Chief Peter Maivia. Great memories. Oh and King Curtis was scarey az

Kevin Sullivan brought Lewin down here to Florida to gang up on Dusty. Here, he was known as The Purple Haze. Don’t even remember Lewin leaving the State. He used to be a Fan Favorite in the Northern States

I was 12 yrs old wen this happened. Dutch Savage was the Pacific Northwest champion at the time in Portland Wrestling. Playboy buddy rose and rowdy Roddy Piper come up from Nevada as a tag team from AWA.

@@nadanada5698 nope. Guy got off Scott free. They painted brody as being high on drugs and Jose Gonzalez killed him in self defense. Every American witness that seen it didn't receive their summons to testify until the trial was already over. Also they were trying to intimidate tony atlas the day after it happened they didn't want anyone making statements. Jose never had a set of handcuffs put on him. He even went home and changed after and the knife disappeared. Police asked him what happened he claimed self defense and they let him go to his next wrestling event

Amazing “heal” work in this match. Lewis is at his best and working his “craziness” like no other - yeH Bray Wyatt needs to watch some Lewis vids to get it right Nd Really milk the crowd and get massive heat.

I used to see Mark Lewin in the gym back in the 80s when I lived in Hawaii. He was a big big strong man. But Bruiser Brody is bigger and look stronger.

Keep in mind that Mark was much older than Frank. Brody was an animal. But Mark was an animal much longer. (this is not a reference to Brody dying at only 42). Mark was in his early 40's here.

Lewin has a REALLY juiced up physique here...saw him wrestle about 20 times in the early 60's. His physique was nothing like this. Big yes, but imagine due to weights and not juicing up.
