WWC: Bruiser Brody vs. Abdullah The Butcher

Спорт

The two hardcore legends clash in another wild brawl in Caguas, Puerto Rico. In this match Brody is the face so I'm guessing this is from 1987. As an interesting note this was the first Bruiser Brody match WWC showed after his murder (a shortened version). In 2003 Invader #1 (José Huertas González) jumped from WWC to the competing IWA promotion in Puerto Rico and WWC started showing Brody's matches, this been the first one in 15 years.
Also Brody's crazy antics after the match are priceless.

Bruiser Brody scares me. No way I would ever have ever wanted to piss him off. Abdullah, on the other hand. 🤔. The only thing that scares me about him is, if I were walking next to him and a huge gust of wind picked up, one if his massive side boob flaps might start flailing in the wind and knock me out, possibly kill me. 😲

They obviously held back where they could. But man that first kick abdullah took musta hurt. Brody accidentally landed too cleanly, even though he held back and didn’t full sprint into a soccer kick. Again its very clear this is ENTERTAINMENT, taking blows to make it look good is just the cost of doing business here.

Frank Goodish played his role of King Kong Brody perfectly. PS: What's more, I'm old enough to remember when both of these legends were a tag team in the AWA here in the U.S., when they were managed by the great Sheik Adnan El-Kaissie, who also played his role wonderfully. They had a classic feud skit against Jerry "Crusher" Blackwell back in the 70's. I remember those matches as if yesterday.

@@diablo666541 NWA has never been "uptight", they just believe in very traditional and pure wrestling. Basically, when Vince McMahon changed wrestling into what it is today, the NWA decided not to follow them down that road like everyone else did. Some people like the NWA for staying traditional and pure, while others see them as outdated and obsolete.

Is there a Brody v Abdullah match that actually ends with a pinfall or submission of some kind? Every one I've seen just sort of ends with Brody just destroying shit or the two of them brawling well away from the ring. And I love it.

This was typical for both guys and for other feuds with big names in wrestling. Both guys want to stay on top or at least strong in the fans eyes and doing a clean job never helps your reputation as the saying goes. I hear you, even a cheating win, use a foreign Object or cHair shot or other finish just so someone goes over but these boys just couldn’t do it. Had to be the double count out or DQ. Kind of like the Piper vs Bad News Brown feud, always a brawl to the back (DQ) finish.

Frank Donald Goodish (June 18, 1946 - July 17, 1988) was an American professional wrestler who earned his greatest fame under the ring name Bruiser Brody. He also worked as King Kong Brody, The Masked Marauder, and Red River Jack. Over the years Brody became synonymous with the hardcore wrestling brawling style that often saw one or more of the participants bleeding by the time the match was over. In his prime he worked as a "special attraction" wrestler in North America, making select appearances for various promotions such as World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW), World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF), Central States Wrestling (CSW), Championship Wrestling from Florida (CWF), and the American Wrestling Association (AWA) among others. He worked regularly in Japan for All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW).
