Rage (1980) | David Soul Yaphet Kotto

Фильм және анимация

In this made-for-TV movie, Cal Morrisey (David Soul) is a husband and father convicted of rape who is serving time in an institution and attempting to confront the reasons he ended up there. Using techniques of group therapy with fellow inmates, Morrisey is prompted by his therapist, Borski (James Whitmore), to delve into his difficult past for answers. What he discovers is a lifetime of pain that has scarred him deeply, but nevertheless may lead him on the path to recovery. -imdb

Marie.

David Soul was extremely talented, and I am glad he got help for his demons. It was very upsetting to learn years ago that he assaulted his wife. However, famous people are no different than anyone else. No better. No different. Rest in peace, David, and thank you for sharing your talents with the world.

The problem of carrying hurt from childhood is much more prominant nowadays. Its this generations Epidemic, passed on through the generations, mother and father unable to deal with it,unable to express it largely due to no one wanting to hear it. It mutates with each generation, changing its form of expression with each victim.

There was one part of this film where cal is talking to his mom and dad and when he said he had "38 years of garbage to clean up" That struck a nerve with me because I can relate to that part myself except my trauma is different from his. I just suffer from PTSD because my family were a mess and everything kind of fell on me and it didn't start to effect me until my late 30s i just mainly have anger and depression and although I'm trying to deal with it now this movie really had some trigger moments not going to lie 😢

David Soul born Solberg is of Norwegian decent although born in Chicago, Illinois in 1943 - 28th August he's 78 in 2021. Really enjoyed Starsky & Hutch 1974 - 79. The highlight was 'by chance' - Theatre Royal Bath, U.K : stage play Deathtrap Sat 11th May 2002 I was six rows from him. Somewhat surprised by lax attitude to the prison in Rage! 1980. Smoking in corridors, open cells, minimum risk. I've worked in a prison within catering all staff are thoroughly vetted, we had to hand over all personal items money, mobile etc this film surprised me.

Cal's mother was the type to bury her head in the sand, very subservient and frightened of her husband. That's the reason she never spoke up or protected Cal; she either had no clue (when Cal stated that she didn't know what was going on) or she felt something was going on but chose to not face it nor speak out, out of fear.
