Even though these films were made 5 decades before I was born they still capture interest. Thanks for uploading these gems and Rest In Paradise Mr Sidney Poitier

It's crazy how relevant these topics STILL are today. As much as things change they remain the same. Sidney as always is dignified and poise while Eartha looks like a doll. She was luminous and elegant in that opening scene in her gown
I don't believe much has changed between Nigeria and Britain. Thank you for posting.

@@dorothymalone4285 He plays a a very interesting character in the film FOR LOVE OF IVY . Probably one of his more unique roles ... rather cosmopolitan and nobody's fool . That movie is free here on dj madi johnson channel . You just have to deal with the goofy teenagers in the beginning of it and then the movie gets good .
Sidney Poitier: Perhaps, the all time best black actor. "To Sir with love"was most complex role and filmed in London at a difficult time. It changed the perception of black actors there.

Really interesting film. Much respect to the white actors who did not flinch on portraying the truth of behind the dignified facade of the era. Discrimination and racism come in many guises.

Someone, please explain to me how can these people who were not even born in Africa say they are giving Africans freedom? The good Lord God in the Heavens gave them the land!! They live there on a forced visitation, so tell me how are they thinking the people are loving things debated to them on how to breathe, walk, talk, etc?????? Tell me, because last time I checked God is still over everything!
Sir Sidney was his usual greatness. He and Madam Kit were Awesome
Please continue.

In this movie. I can see why this movie is made it's very effective in using religion and it's dogma as a tool of control over black people. It still works effectively today.

Theresa,my unknown sister,i can only halfway agree with you. They did take away our ancestors freedom (I agree). But they DID NOT give us the word of GOD! All religions originated from AFRICA. Do you think AFRICANS will be GOD's first-ever human creation, without given us instructions to follow? NO! We always had/have the spirit of GOD(the creator). They only plagiarized the "word."
i like poitier but, foreign politics isn't my thing.

As usual a hidden truth they thought they were an informercial for the cross but the golden hawk is the seal of Horus the original Christ also know as Issa (Islam’s name for jesus), ‘bringer of bliss’, son of Hathor or Meri, of whom the Nigerian Khuti are anciently connected

At 11:20 "That's the African word for 'Hawk'". As if there was only one language spoken in Africa. 😄 Juano Hernandez is a much better actor than what can be seen in this movie. Maybe it's because he played the role of a preacher. At 1:07, no bullet wound in the front. That makes sense to me. 🙄 At 1:10:40 "We have killed him." He was shot in the back by the other team. 1:20, the brother testifying obviously didn't have any legal counsel. When asked what were you doing there he should have responded, "peaceful demonstration". Just like the January 6 insurrectionists. 😉 This movie CRIES OUT to riffed. The movie had too much of a religious theme for me. It reminded me of the crap I hear on Christian radio. "Trust in God and do what the rich guys want us to do. They give us jobs." And comparing white missionaries in China in the 1940's to white imperialism in some unknown African nation in the 1950's was absurd. Written and produced by Lloyd Young. What a waste of acting talent.
Two birds were harmed and killed in the making of this film.
Thank you
