Quicksand And Alligators: The Hunt That Became A 3-Day Living Hell | Fight To Survive | Retold

Quicksand And Alligators: The Hunt That Became A 3-Day Living Hell | Fight To Survive | Retold
On November 16th, 2009, Jamie meets two local hunters who offer to take him on a day of wild boar hunting. Jamie gathers his gear and rides with them to the cabin, deep in the Everglades: the plan is to get up with the dawn to hunt. But the troubles are just about to begin...
Fight to Survive tells the inspiring true stories of outdoorsmen who have faced down death in the wilderness and lived to tell their story. Adventurer, author and survivor Craig DeMartino kicks off the series with his own story.

Something fishy... I live in Florida and no way in hell you fall asleep for that long in that environment unless you're shit faced. Anything is possible but why would you go hunting alone in the glades without a map especially since he didn't know the area. So easy to get lost there since most of it all starts to look the same in the areas of saw palmettos

Fall asleep in the swamp because you are tired of walking? WTF. No way, no how. Anyone who has ever taken even 3 steps into any swamp understands the immediate sense of dread and despair you get being that far out of your element. CalliNg BS on the nap! Pretty sure that would be impossible and probably the last thing on your mind! Seeing a couple moccasins would take care of that. Speaking for myself I’d rather stay the night napping in an alley in Brooklyn.

I'd hate to say it but I've lived in Florida my entire life and NOBODY decides to take a little nap in the glades! Unless they are too drunk or took too many drugs. It makes sense when I thought about it. He falls asleep for hours and wakes up with all his gear wet and destroyed.. I've heard that story many times. It just doesn't seem like a simple matter of an over confident northern hunter struggling in the glades

Break a leg or an arm, concussion…it doesn’t matter…nothing is worse for the spirit than millions of relentless bugs attacking you ALL night long. You will do anything for a bug break that never comes. Black flies or mosquitoes will drive a man mad and break him down to nothing, extremely lessening his chances of survival.

Just like now, all that meat in the store people buy is much more unethical than a man hunting for his own food. The animal is given a proper life not raise on a farm and groomed for death. They get an equal chance of survival. Its natural selection at work. The food chain doesnt stop for any man. If he didn’t kill a dear, a wolf would or it would die anyway.
