Yeah he tries to use stats to prove a point but wrong in basically all he says. He says that Ronaldo had only started 4 games but that's only in the League, he's also started every Europa League game and Piers also says that it's embarrassing for us to be in the Europa League playoff but it's largely due to Ronaldo and his poor finishing that we are in it. But Piers will conveniently leave that out

I’m sure the Man Utd fans were massively comforted by Ronaldo’s own personal achievements last season when the team as a whole lost 4 places in the league, finished on 16 less points and most tellingly had a worse goal difference by 29 goals to the previous season before Ronaldo joined… but never mind all that Ronaldo got his goals and was top scorer at the club 👍🏻👍🏻 It’s baffling that people can’t make the connection that sometimes catering to a single player can come at the expense of an over all team performance and development of other players and that playing one system makes you very predictable to play against. Aside from the financial reasons let’s not forget why Juventus were happy to move him on, the team as a whole were going backwards and not functioning as a complete unit, before Ronaldo they were winning back to back consecutive titles and were wanting to make the next step of winning the Champions League… in the end when he left Juve were in a worse state than when he joined. Now none of this is to say Ronaldo is a bad player as Piers is insinuating people are saying, it just means you have to have a very particular type of team to be able to cater to playing Ronaldo otherwise he might bang in goals but you’ll make no progress as a team. I just don’t think Ronaldo suits Man Utd at this moment in time, I think there’s probably only Bayern, PSG and Madrid where he’d be well suited, I would say City but I think Pep would want more out of him

@@yusufsaeed888 bit of a naive response, if you do not have the players capable to deal with extra defensive duties then playing with system is pointless. Football is a team sport, playing to the strength of an individual makes you one dimensional and easy to play against… say for example you know that a team only has one threat and it’s getting crosses into a player then you know they will be focusing all their effort into crosses and playing out wide, which means they are probably exposing themselves and vulnerable in the middle… they might get a goal from that way of playing but they are less likely to win against a well prepared team

I played competitive rugby for years and while at 36, when I retired, I was still very, very fit, my speed was gone, as was my reaction speed and the writing was on the wall. My cricket was the same, when the eye/ball co-ordination started to affect my run scoring, I knew it was time to retire. Ronaldo needs to do the same.

Did you see how many easy chances players like bruno and rashford missed last season? Literally infront of goal they couldn't finish off chances. Just look at this season too, rashfords finishing has been poor.

'His daughter had bronchitis and they were in hospital for a week thats why he didnt turn up for pre season' our pre season prep started late June and our pre season started 2 weeks later during which Ronaldo and his partner were active on social media going places and doing things, we all saw it and they continued their activities till the end of pre season which was the literal last day of the month when ronaldo decided to turn up. Ronaldo was actually given time off but when you are running around lisbon training with friends and your partner is running around madrid going to musicals and events at some point it will be assumed that his daughters health improved enough to be left alone without either of them. Do not gaslight us and treat us like we are idiots

Didn't know you were living there with Ronaldo and heard the conversations that took place between him and the club. You as an inside source is great! Maybe you could teach him how to handle grief and stress. Maybe spending time with his wife to ensure their marriage was strong and she was getting the emotional support she needed was definitely not the right move. I mean he is rich right? Why should he care about his family. He should be on the pitch training cause that's what he gets paid to do!

There is also paparazzi photos that were taken of them to coincide with this in Portuguese, Spanish and English press. Feel free to look it up and come back to me

Another player was given significant time off too to grieve a family death, he's only started training again since last month but this isn't headlines because he didn't act the way Ronaldo and his partner acted. Granted there isn't a right way to grieve but you need to understand the optics in Ronaldos case. You get time off but usually employers need more than your word and it's not a case of not being empathic it's a case of legalities, you get sick pay...to get sick pay you need proof, most employers are asking for sick notes, hospital admission papers, discharge letters. He already said In his interviews he didn't want to give it? Then his employer is watching his online activity which doesn't add up. The optics look poor My child has cancer, he has no hair, he has a scar running down is head from brain surgery, he uses a wheelchair and a feeding tube.... He goes to school part time so everyone has seen him but I was still asked for proof of his cancer and drs letters of admission dates for chemo from his school so they could send it to the local authority. I didn't stomp my feet or feel like I wasn't believed, I understood the legal ramifications of why they asked...they have a school to run and someone to answer to, businesses need to be run when they need to work around you for being off. This is the reality, separate your emotions for this and take it for what it is.

I'm an Arsenal fan but Piers is speaking truth about Ronaldo here not being suddenly "past it". And how he was attacked for missing pre-season, he's not been given a run in the team. I'm glad somebody has his back in the media. Also he would be an asset to Arsenal as backup for Jesus but not replace anyone in the team. If Jesus got injured in the World Cup would I take Ronaldo ready to make a point when we're fighting for the league? In a second I would.

If ten Hag has forced Ronaldo out of the club, as Ronaldo is suggesting, then ten Hag is definitely the right man for the job Fergie would have booted Ronaldo out in the summer, the manager needs to be able to force his will on the team, so if ten Hag is able to do that then he's the first since Fergie I say this as a big admirer of Ronaldo, someone that's followed United for 30 years+, been a season ticket holder for decades, been to CL finals etc. Ronaldo was a fantastic player for United but I thought it was a mistake bringing him back, and so it has proved to be. When he left the first time, as great as he was, he didn't track back, he was great going forward, but he did very little defensively, so he was never going to fit a ten Hag system, this outcome was inevitable

Piers is exactly doing what he did in the Auba situation. He's backing the player purely for a past goalscoring, because the new manager hasn't got a clue in his eyes. Well, Arteta proved him wrong and Ten Haag will. Both managers, to be fair most modern managers, demand more from their forwards. Intensive high press and the strikers are often the press triggers, so they better know when to do it. Ronaldo is in the bottom percentiles in the top 5 european leagues in that regard. Yes, he will score goals (and pens), but the rest of the team will have more difficulties, because you can't play a high line when the press is beaten easily. He simply doesn't suit the system and hasn't got the legs to do it.

This 24 goals is such a joke. The team scores less goals as a result of him being there! They scored more goals in all of the seasons before without him. You have to arrange everything in the team to accommodate him

@@draoicht22 Rashford 100 goals in 338 games and Ronaldo 700 goals in 994 games. Easy for Marcus to equal that. He needs 600 goals in 606 games so looking forward to that goal a game over the next decade plus. As for us scoring a load without him we have not even scored as many in PL as Leeds!

Watched the first half and everything Ronaldo said sounded like Man Utd. The way they treat people is shocking. And that goes from the top to the person that works behind the bar.

It’s really crazy how Man Utd fans r supporting ETH more than Ronaldo who has been here for just 5 months and did not win a trophy yet , whereas Ronaldo gave them trophies and last player to win a balandor in premier league , man utd fans and English media is a disgrace for non English players

Ronaldo going to Arsenal would create the same outcome as Man City signing Rodney Marsh in March 1972. City were four points clear at the top of the table when Marsh was signed, but by the end of the season they had slipped to fourth.

Hopefully Ronaldo managed to get a couple of words in during that hour with Piers.

I hope he goes to Arsenal as well. Piers will get his wish and a 6th place finish.

If you miss a pre season then its going to take time to hit your peak. At 37 this is naturally going to take longer and was eased back into the team when he clearly wasn't fit enough after the first two games. He demands respect from the club and manager but was openly trying to get a transfer in the summer so clearly this is going to rub up the manager and your team mates up the wrong way. He asked to be except from a pay cut for failing to qualify for the Champions League as he scored goals last season and basically said 'I did my part'. Just because he has achieved what he has doesn't give him a divine right. He has to earn it each and every season and so far this season he hasn't done enough, missed sitters, throwing strops and not being the model professional he claims to be

Why do some fans keep hanging on to what hes saying and not seeing the lack of timing and complete unprofessionalism of it. He KNOWS this himself which is exactly WHY he is doing it for maximum effect to be let go and go to another team for no fee! It’s as simple as that. Every insult and exposure (that we already know of) is to be direct and concrete to cause no way back. The rest of it is to appeal to fans so he doesn’t just sound like a petulant selfish person. Most see through that circus BS, but I’m still shocked how naive a lot of his diehard fans are. I ised to like him, but it’s not about liking or disliking - it’s all about the timing, unprofessional, selfish and classless way he’s gone about it, there’s no arguing that. I’d be stupid to defend him. If he was performing and in the starting eleven, he wouldn’t even of dreamt of doing this right now and saying this about Ten Hag you can bet your life on that. Hes mentioned the lack of growth in facilities and standards LAST year (which Utd fans already know about for a decade, so again no bombshell there), guess what…NO interview…whats the only difference - OH yeh HES NOT PLAYING, and that is all that this is about. He’s just adding more unnecessary talking points as smoke screens for damage control with fans. Alot of you seem to forget he tried to force his ungrateful way out of United first time around insulting the team when it was very well ran by Fergie - ‘’I’m being treated like slave’’. It’s genuinely hurting my brain how the ronaldo mob can’t see through his obvious ulterior motives and are acting like we should be grateful for him coming out and telling us all what we already know about the glazers😂in my opinion he doesn’t give two shits about this club or it’s fans. His celebration against us for juve, the timing of this interview, the fact he almost joined city. His only loyalty is for fergie. And even then, the fact that fergie had to step in and talk him out of joining city tells you all you need to know about Ronaldo. It’s all about him in his eyes

Finally one Man United fan with some senses! Thank you for pointing this out! The facilities were in the same shape last year and how many times did say anything about it? Zero..this whole thing is based on ego and selfishness and damage control… I would actually keep him until the end of the season and let rot on the bench for what I care. Ronaldo is the sort of player who the day Man U won the Champions League casts doubt on his future. the day after Real Madrid won champions league he announces he's leaving. Decides to talk down the tunnel at the end of Utds best win of the season. He has time to conduct an interview to talk about how it's not acceptable that he's asked to play the last 3 mins of a match, but he doesn't have time to congratulate Benzema on his balon d'Or

pierce morgan has sat down and chat heart to heart with cristiano...so he knws cristiano as a person more than all of us... that's why he backs ronaldo up....

If the interview will change people's minds and all, why did he put out clips that make him look bad!!!!!

Zlatan went to the MLS and came back to serie A and won the serie A. There is no reason why Ronaldo can't do the same. Man utd has been a joke of a team since they sacked JM. Most of what’s being written here are hate remarks against Ronaldo, not honest or objective analyses of the issue. When you hate, you become impermeable to reason. Morgan is excellent in this interview. He shuttered the hateful mouths of the two radio hosts with brilliant analysis and facts.

He talks a lot of sense on some things, but football has never been one of them. For starters, he literally couldn't answer the question of who he would take out from the Arsenal side to accommodate Ronaldo, which shows he knew what he's saying isn't logical. Secondly, he talks about Ronaldo getting suspended for the first time in his career at 37, as though it's a common occurrence for footballers to be sanctioned by their clubs for refusing to play... To then try and claim he's still a model professional, having also done an interview where he said he doesn't respect his current manager is completely nonsensical. Fact is, he's completely tarnished his reputation, while it's obvious his level as a player has dropped. He says he's started 4 games, yet he's ignoring he's played 6 full matches in the Europa league too; where he managed just 2 goals, one of which was a penalty. In total he's played the equivalent to 12 full matches in minutes. To only have 3 goals and 2 assists just underlines he's no longer good enough to be deserving of being a starter.

A 2part interview ain’t gona change united look better without him. He’s not a bad player now just not mobile enough for united

Doesn't matter how many he scored last season. 17 games : 3 goals. If he is so good. And having to play preliminary KO rounds, Ronaldo was part of most of their Europa league outing this season.

Please ask Pierce Morgan how many players he has seen leaving the team and going home while the match did not finish, without congratulating his team mates, after a remarkable performance and victory!

Only seen the first part of the interview obviously, but I thought Ronaldo came across pretty well actually. Guessing all the headline fuelling beef is coming in the second part.
