@Return of the grapes. You have to consider that 90-95 % of the world’s population live in countries without UCL top teams, and maybe 75% live in a country where isn’t a decent team to support. For me, local football was never interesting. Here football is widely considered a boring sport with ice hockey dominating the scene. So most people simply must choose a team which they like and start to follow it because they don’t have a decent choice in their countries. For example, in my town with only 25 000 people there is hardly any football. Pretty much all the teams have died a long time ago. The other thing is getting attracted to a team for different reasons. For example Man City have been doing fantastic for the past decade and that brings new fans across the country and the globe. Same thing happened with Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool or any successful club and you can see how younger generations back then are now grown adults still supporting those clubs. Same thing will happen with Man City for example and I see nothing wrong with that. It's a completely normal phenomenon.

I can only imagine that long time ago there wasn't really any TV broadcasting and people actually attended the game. They had to because that waa the only way to watch football. Nowadays almost every top-flight game ia broadcasted and thus football has become a worldwide market. As you can tell I support City too. Yes, I wasn't there 40 years ago since I wasn't even born. But as someone who has supported sky-blues for around 10 years ftom abroad, I still classify myself as a loyal supporter. I may not be at the stadium every game, but I try to attend at least one game a year. Hell, one trip and the ticket cost pretty much the same aa a season ticket. I also watch City every game on TV so that brings some TV revenues from my side. Also I buy club merchandise every year for at least 200 pounds from the official store. So yes, I do kinda understand what you are saying, but times have changed and the globalisation brought us a completely different but yet as passionate way of supporting clubs.

He is wrong though, you can’t compare this United team to the ones in the 1990s and 2000s, the circumstances are completely different. Man U finished 2nd last season, only 12 points behind Man City. I guarantee that none of those previous United teams would’ve beaten Man City to the title last season, it’s way too good. Don’t get we wrong, United had great teams in the 1990s and 2000s, but the league was easier back then. This current Man United team is a great team as well, it just has better competition.

I am a united fan but the this caller is right.

City fan was spot on im afraid. Especially the part where he said we are too quick to try and get the ball to our forwards. When it comes off we can look excellent on the break, but in a game where you can't get possession of the ball for long periods, you need a calm head when you win the ball back and not just look for long passes in behind all the time. You need to retain possession and move youre way up the pitch with passes, otherwise all you do is give the opposition the ball back. Ole is unable to instill effective patterns of play into the squad which would allow us to keep the ball better. Instead we are looking for moments of individual quality to win us games. This isn't going to work longterm if you want to win major trophies, when these individuals inevitably have off days, we have nothing to fall back on.

I am a United fan but that caller was absolutely spot on and I don't see any disrespect....Ole is shot, Maguire is shitter, Wanbissaka is shittest. I feel like puking seeing them at Utd

The City fan was right. United do not control games for 70 mins, and tend to try and get it to the front players too quickly too often. Ole made the same point post match and spoke of his side too often going for Hollywood ball from back to front. Sometimes it pays to take your time and work an opening. At the very least, if you have the ball dangerous opponents like City don’t.

The caller is right in a lot of what he says, including the arrogance of many United fans (not all). He was right in saying we don't control games. We're competitive but for us it's about scoring goals. Learning to control the game more would help us, and I do find it surprising that with Pogba and Bruno in a midfield we somehow can't pass and control the play. The 2 presenters on the other hand should both be ashamed of themselves. Their unprofessionalism was amazing to me! Talking over a caller and then hanging up on him just because somehow the truth hurt you? A couple of wet lettuces that don't deserve to have jobs while so much of the country is out of work. Can't believe I'm saying this about fellow United fans, but it's true! (IMO)

I Def agree and I'm a utd fan, but the fact people are saying we won't win the league isn't surprising, if we finish 3rd and finish closer in points to city and Liverpool that will be successful if y ask me, but the fact we are overachieving is welcome

United will be better under a more tactical manager with a better coaching staff as I feel ole hasn't improved any players if anything he has made a few worst under his time. His decision make such as late subs and not making the right player to play is very poor and it seems he isn't capable of changing the shape of the team or changing tactics midway though a game just my opinion 🤔

Man city have been around longer than man utd and Liverpool? But where the argument falls down is the fact that they was up and down from one division to another, one major European trophy which was the cup winners cup in their entire history? Their major sucess haul and trophies only began since 2010 onwards. If you analyse it over their entire history, they have been poor compared to man utd, Liverpool, arsenal and Chelsea who they are the closest to closing the gap on? In the next 10 years they will probably surpass Chelsea for achievements? But still a long way off the big 3!

As a united fan, yes we are ahead of city, but city will leapfrog us based on that semifinal. it was men vs boys.

The reason the media perpetuate the agenda against City is to appease the masses of supporters of teams such as Man U. Why...? Cos it sells more papers and gets more clicks...simple really

Well they would just buy replacements, haaland would be a good aguero replacement for instance. They will HV plenty of chances, I think they will win it in the next 10 years

@@garycross2741 any day of the week. United are built on stability and it’s no coincidence that the 2 most successful United managers (Busby and Fergie) were long term managers. United have tried hiring the likes of Mourinho and Van Gaal and it just isn’t the United way. You would have to be a hard line United hater to say that United haven’t improved under Solskjaer and if you disagree then look at the table next Tuesday night and you will see United are at the top 3 points clear half way through the season. Pep will maybe see out his contract but the most hardened City fan will know that he 100% won’t be in charge 5 years from now and I very much doubt 3 years. I’d love Ole to stay for as long as he would like.
