That's not the whole story though is it. Chelsea are also the biggest profit sellers in that same period.

Klopp came to Liverpool, who’d never won a PL as a team, had a bad squad at the time and had to rebuild. Pep came in to a team full of PL champions, spent more money, broke FFP rules and assembled arguably the greatest English team of all time. Klopp was very unfortunate in that sense. Had City had any other manager Liverpool would’ve won 3-4 PL titles under Klopp

Anthony ain't going to leave United, 200k a week until his contract runs our in '27. He's not going to get that elsewhere, look at Winston Bogarde at Chelsea, stayed put for his whole contract, played 9 games at a cost of roughly 1m. per game!

Klopp was successful- it’s not fair that they had to go up against limitless city in the same time and still ran them close on a much smaller budget- amazing really - and I’m a Utd fan - respect

A few months ago I felt like he was another Nani or Depay all the potential in the world but just can’t do it consistently. Now I realise that was being too kind he doesn’t have any where near the raw potential of either of them. He’s a Crystal Palace level in the making.

Most people don’t appear to understand that United is not a good fit for Antony because United play a counterattack system that requires fast wingers covering lots of space at a time. Antony grew up playing futsal in Brazil and is very good on the ball and keeps possession very well for United. He is quick but he does not have electric pace to get past defenders on the outside. He would be much better suited playing for teams like Brighton and City who consistently pass and move as a collective unit. The collective team generates opportunities at those clubs, not one man on an island like United always do with “moments” goals. That is why Antony thrived at Ajax if anyone actually watched him while he was there. Because he played in a possession team that wasn’t looking to hit teams fast on the counter and played as a collective. As much as people like to criticize Antony, virtually nobody talks about how United play and why that doesn’t fit a possession player like Antony. The irony is United got rid of the two footed speedster Elanga when he actually fits their style of play perfectly. Him and Rashford on the wings this year would have actually been very dangerous.

Fully agree on what was said about Elanga, but the other spiel above about Antony is exxagerated a touch. Starting with the present season as that's what's taking place in the now. Playing in 20 league games so far with 9 of the 20 coming on from the bench & been taken off 11 times. Over these 930 minutes of 20 league games Antony has successfully dribbled past an opponent 56 times, while losing possession 91 times. 26 shot attempts with 6 saved shots. Rashford has contributed to 7 goals so far , Garnacho 8, even as terrible as Martial has become, he even has assisted a goal in less game time than Antony. Manchester United has infact counter attacked 23 times from the 26 games this season. All in all, Antony just like a load of his other teammates really lack in consistent confidence thus shape & drive when the space is tightening, seen as Garnacho is the only realistic direction player you have with drive left & maybe that Kobbie kid. Honest opinion, Antony would be better off just going to the Saudi 🇸🇦 league & returning back to Sao Paulo to end his career. The only issue is will they even want him ? To be continued.....
