For us to know if your point is correct we have to know what year he got to finals. Your point doesn't state that he didn't score in 3 consecutive finals.

Erik didn't want him and would have happily let him go if he there was time to get a replacement but by the time Ronaldo made his intentions clear we was already in august, and it was too late, so he's had to walk a line between talking positively about Ronaldo in the press whilst in reality not really fancying him in his system

This has been known long before Ronaldo came back in 2021. He mentioned the infrastructure of United are not up to par with other clubs. Ronaldo lives in fear that he will not be regarded as the GOAT and Messi will. He wasn’t being played and that means his records could be overtaken. That’s why he wants out and has created this situation to force it. Call it competitiveness, call it vanity. That is what is driving this. You either admire the drive or hate the egoism. Why did CR7 say a City signing was very close when City after the interview denied those claims with a statement? Simon Jordan has limited ideas on how people are treated by companies, i have worked for managment that refused staff time off to visit sick family in hospital, also instructig staff in that department not to swap shifts to allow that person time to visit, same company would not let an employee have a day off to go to a family funeral unless they produced a death certificate, which kind of makes it impossible having to ask a grieving relative for a death certificate so you could take it into work and show a manager.

I broke my leg a few months ago, got back from hospital at 4am and had to be on client calls at 9am a few hrs later. No option to skip it / phone in sick. When ronaldo says "piece of meat" he speaks to a lot of people. The £500k a week isnt a point of difference since it's relative to what he generates through endorsements, brand recognition, marketing contracts and performances (20goals and he dragged them through champions lg group stages probably generating ManUtd more than his wages!!)

Part of the reason why his name was the only one even mentioned was because out of the 8 people that left that day. Ronaldo was the only one that actually played during the game and left before the game ended. The rest of those players weren't playing.

Jordan is 100% right. I can’t believe he has to repeat his say so often. The only problem for Ronaldo is that the manager treats every player equal regardless of status or history.

As for Ronaldo he wants respect he gets £500,000 a week there is your respect Mr Ronaldo, no other club would have paid you that, plus no other club will pay him that in the future, plus what club wants him with all that baggage. The only part of that interview that I felt for him was the tragedy in his life, that was so sad and anyone no matter who they are deserves time and support. I do question who it was that didn't believe him about his daughter given he didn't name names, he called out other ex-players and even not naming his current team mates who he thinks are professional, so why not name the individual at the top of Man Utds hierarchy, probably because he would be sued for defamation, because without proof you can't accuse someone. Also can you imagine if someone did sit down with Piers Morgan from the club do you think they would be given the same easy, no hard question, soft interview from Morgan, what a hypocrite that man is!. I wouldn’t compare Ronaldo’s current form to Messi, Lionel is playing much more in form right now. Some of that is due to Messi’s position and the structure built around him at PSG, (Mbappe and Neymar for one) but Ronaldo hasn’t played well when he’s had the chance. I agree with Simon as to the interview being more of a speech with Piers Morgan spoon feeding Ronaldo easy questions with no critical insight or follow up. It’s easy to side with Ronaldo on a lot of issues, but the timing of this interview has to be questioned and an appropriate amount of responsibility put on Cristiano himself for creating his own drama. I can separate my love and empathy for the player with the need for professional behavior. Ronaldo knew where he was coming when he agreed to come to MU, any complaints about infrastructure etc. would have been seen before he signed a contract.

For all those invoking MESSI in this discussion, please answer these; where was the outrage when Messi called CONMEBOL a corrupt body ? Or when he criticized the pitches, or when he said "the ball is like a rabbit" . If Ronaldo had done that the media will be all over him. When Messi disrespected Pochettino were was the outrage? When Messi scored 11 goals last season in all competition for PSG. Why did the media not say he was finished or in decline? Ronaldo score 24 goals and was still labelled as the problem... Please let us remember that these players however great they are, they are also humans and they have got feelings too

Ronaldo scored 24 goals and made 3 assists last season. Messi scored 11 goals and made 14 assists last season. Their stats are quite similar.

I agree with Simon. Throughout the interview Ronaldo kept whining. He felt disrespected by being asked to come on for the last 3 minutes. Well guess what pal......you are not suited to a pressing style and neither the player you once were. And since you love to call yourself a top professional, be a professional a d do your job. This is such a simple incident. Ronaldo’s profile complicates it, but when you distill it - absolutely unacceptable behaviour. I agree with Danny Murphy - I don’t like his demeanour and I doubt he is a club player that encourages changes in a young team’s behaviour. Any other industry, he is absolutely gone without a question.

Ronaldo has wanted to leave the club ever since he found out about the pay cut for missing out on UCL. No one wanted him and so he has sulked for months, quietly plotting his revenge with friend Morgan.

What people don't realize is: Ronaldo was "the ugly duckling" who, once he had the money, invested in himself. Cared for his looks. Media started to portray him as a self-conceited diva. Instead of addressing it in the media, he delivered on the pitch. Tried to look like he had all the self-esteem in the world, until he had it (at least in our eyes) and worked his ass off. I can't imagine living a life, where every single step was analized, every mistake was pointed out. Portuguese media always ripped his persona apart. Swiss media (portuguese living in switzerland here) ripped him apart, until he got injured in the 2016 final - but today, gets ripped apart again. Just imagine. And now, having a body that can't cope with his demands, he can't deliver on the pitch and silence everyone. This interview sounded like a cry for empathy to me. And all the jokes about looks and what not: that's ronaldo. As I said, he was portrayed as a diva from the beginning, he went with it and made jokes about it. Maybe he's still really insecure inside? Also: The guy on the left in this video should try to see things from another perspective. Clearly the one in the middle is not on ronaldo's side either, but at least he tries to understand what else could be going on in ronaldo's mind.

I’ve watched a few videos on this channel on different topics. With all due respect, Simon Jordan doesn’t have a clue. His biggest contribution to the sport is his opinion, like the rest of us.

Simon Jordan is the voice of reason; absolutely agree with him... Ronaldo is absolutely in my opinion if it's his 'truth' PARANOID, there is a difference between what someone feels (could be paranoia!) and the truth, I find it hard to believe the amount they agreed to pay, his stature, and the risk it would take, CR7 PLAYED GAMES and underperformed.

The real reason all this has happened is really quite simple. Ten Hag comes to United and wants to rebuild the club in his way. He 1.) never wanted Ronaldo from start but 2.) couldn't come out and say that because the fans would've accused him for overstepping 3.) didn't want to gamble his results on Ronaldo who doesn't fit his system, which would've probably put his job in jeopardy, and 4.) needed to get rid of him and provoked him until Ronaldo fell for it. Ronaldo is a lot of things, but strategic is not one of them. Notice how many times Ronaldo mentions "strategic" in the interviews. Leave it to a tactician like Ten Hag to know how to play mind games. I don't blame Ten Hag for doing it. You get this opportunity in football sometimes once, and he wasn't going to lose it to an aging superstar who doesn't fit his system.

What nobody is mentioning is that he quickly backtracked in the interview to then saying they did believe him, when Piers questioned him further about that. I'm not saying he may not have felt initially that wasn't the case, but he gave no context to support that. The evidence shows also they allowed him that time off.

He also said he had to prove by showing them actual medical reports of his sick child. Get the impression he been punished for having a break from ftball during most harrowing time in his life. Mentions very explicitly the support of the people of England, Royal family yet he didn't say thanks to Mutd as a club, his teamates etc not once. as if they were not there supporting him in his one time an only time of need esp after everything he has given. If SAF had been there u can guarantee he an Keane Neville Rio et Al would've told the press to leave off their tmate. For the FA to be going on about mental health rightly so and encouraging players to talk about things. @@saumildesai2442 Interesting take, however, you forgot that as soon as United were out of Champinos League for next season Ronaldo would have been looking for an exit. Ronaldo made a poor decision by not accepting any offer from any other club. The salary was probaly the stumbling block, had he accepted to play for a nominal wage and perhaps 300,000 per goal he could have gone to any club in Champions league, for example, Sevilla, Athletico Madrid, Napoli, Milan, Marsella etc. They would all have taken him, but he wanted the salary he was having at Man Utd. and that meant only a few clubs could afford that and they didn't need him. His greed caused him to lose the opportunity to continue at the top level this season in a major club.

What I find quite amusing is how much Piers Morgan was sucking Ronaldo off in this interview. In almost all of his previous sit downs,he’s very hard and pushes his guests to annoyance . It all makes sense now why Ronaldo would choose him of all journalists to conduct this interview. I feel like he could’ve pushed Ronaldo more on some of the issues he was bringing up but I digress. This “interview” was just Ronaldo airing out his grievances and Piers validating him. Just some food for thought 💭.

I don't understand why pundits keep agreeing with Ronaldo saying that it is disrespectful to bring him on in the last few minutes, totally mystifying.

They didn't trust him because he was touting himself around Europe to leave the club right in their face. Utd are not my club but I don't belive they wouldn't show him compassion regarding his sick daughter.

Who of them has come out to deny it...UTD as a whole club has issues, Ronaldo is not the first to speak out, Sanchez wanted he's agent to terminate the deal, Mourinho said it was his biggest achievement in the game to finish second with UTD,and many players...it's only that Ronnie came out when he's still at the club.

CR played 300+ minutes out of 360+ minutes in 4 games between the MC and THFC games... I don't think being asked to come on with 3 minutes + injury time is not an insult.
