I’m sure Ricky Gervais couldn’t run and manage a successful look-a-like career. Tom Oliver couldn’t do what.. Actually, he could do what Gervais does, and I think he knew it back then. Probably what spurred him on.

Lmao i thought it was actually him when he walked in.

He doesn't really look like Brent at first, other than the fundamentals like the goatee, slick back hair, and the suit... then he'll just rattle off a few lines and you brush it off as just a good impression. But the more time you spend watching him, he begins to be more like David Brent, more than Ricky Gervais' version. I think it's the nuances in the mannerisms, the side-eyes and the giggle sounds that polish the act off and bringing character into the 'real' world.
