Just unbelievable that she's not yet been inducted. However, I haven't researched whether or not she resides in TN. I found out only lately that it is a stipulation of a CM artist. That is the only reason that George Strait has never been inducted. He's always decided to remain a resident of TX. I think this rule is just preposterous.

If you seen a video of her in concert when she sings this song she says right at the start she sees the other perspective

This beautiful woman refused to sell out to the music machine. Patty had everything going for her. God given good looks, crazy vocal range and a rare sense of self worth with no ego. At any other time she would be the benchmark that others would aspire to, but I guess that's the way it goes sometimes.

That's what each generation says as it drifts into history. The wish never comes true. Each new generation brings its own styles in to replace the old. At least in this digital age the older stuff we like most is preserved on the www where we can still listen to it as if it never went away. I wish the same could be done for all the hair I'e lost over the years, or the miles I used to run every week. Looks like those are gone forever.

But my youngest child just finished college so my next step is finding the courage to walk away. Alot of what kept me where I am (believe it or not) has to do with geography. I met him in the Army and moved to his hometown in Arkansas whereas my family is in Massachusetts which is 1,600 miles away

I'm not fond of too many female singers or songs...but this song by Patty is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. It's so sad and heartbreaking...yet absolutely beautiful at the same time. Thank God for KZread...cuz they don't make music like this anymore

This is one of those songs that sneaks up on you. I remember hearing it on the radio when it was new and I didn't like it the first few times I heard it. I had recently gone through a painful divorce and this song hit a lot of sore spots. Still, you couldn't deny that this song was speaking to millions of people in this country who were going through something similar to this. I also like how this song presents both sides, it's not just his fault, it's not just her fault. Sometimes things just happen and you just can't figure out how to fix them. I very quickly grew to love this song and I still think it's one of Patty's best. This song is a good companion song for another Loveless hit, "The Trouble With The Truth."

Be here. My first marriage, it drained me. He didn't want the help he needed and stopped caring. Though it wasn't always like that. It wasn't even a year before it was all done. His drug use was more important (which is no surprise). I tried for months as a wife to help him. When that didn't work, I tried as a friend. Losing weight dramatically (bones showing), hair loss, paler skin, throwing up everytime I ate and more. He stole and put his youngest in danger. I told him to go and that was it. Now I've been with my current husband almost 10 years. We celebrated our 3 year marriage this past December with out beautiful 3 year old. At the end of the day as bad as that was, I'm glad I went through it. It taught me a lot. While we have our problems we work through it and become stronger for us and most importantly our son.

I grew up listening to 90's country music and it was the best by far. Funny thing is... this song hits home with me and my husband of 16yrs. This song has so much meaning and very true.

I’ve heard several version of this song, I like them all. This one give me chills and makes me want to cry. I read a comment that said Patty Loveless is the best female country singer alive , I guess I pretty much have to agree. Not taking anything away from Chris Stapleton though, he really needs to be heard by everyone

I am coming up on 30 years with my wife, the first 10 were the hardest, the Last 10 have been the easiest. Hang in there, it gets better. There is not another woman out there I would trade her for.
