My dad had one of these when I was younger. I ran thousand of rounds through it and loved every minute of it. Awesome little pistol.

Bro. The first pistol I shot with my Dad was a Colt Challenger (the bargain bin Huntsman). I still have that pistol and love it. I am sorry for your loss and I am glad you can celebrate the positives of your time with him. Hey, is somebody cutting onions...?

I'm very sorry to hear about your Dad; no better way to honor your father-son memory than with a shared love of firearms..... I love your review here. I have a Colt Huntsman that I bought new in 1974. I remember where I got it, but don't remember how much. Mine has complete adjustable rear sights; up down, back and left to right, and also has an original factory grip with thumb rest; no sharp edge on the safety, and is mostly protected by the grip. I too find the trigger to be exceptional, in fact almost unbelievably good for a factory gun... I've been offered $1,000.00 for my Colt; it is not for sale! (But then, nor are any of my guns!). I will 'thumbs-up' and will become your newest subscriber.

My father passed away back in 05 but recently my mom wanted to pass the guns around so there were no arguments over the guns. (there wouldn't have been.) Among a few others this was my first pick as its the first firearm I ever shot at like 7ish? Love the gun and brings back many memories.

Yeah, it's not been an easy time. The video was released yesterday specifically because it was his birthday. This was a gun we all enjoyed together, and we will continue enjoying it in his remembrance.

Have a Woodsman (From what I have found is Colt started marking "The Woodsman" on the frame sometime in September of 1927. ) Looked at all the numbers and it's all matching. This Colt has some bluing missing from the tip of the gun and wear on the hand grips from sliding in and out of the leather holster which is period correct with no dry cracking ( Hunter holester 1100R 2 ) Just took it out to the range and had a good time plinking. Heard the group next to me talking about the 1911 style pistol they were firing and I just had to tell them what I was using and their eyes lite up when I offered to let them run some rounds through it. By the way this Woodsman was given to me.

I just saw one of these today. What a sweet gun. I noticed it because I have a Browning Nomad that looks almost identical. Love it and the trigger is sweet. Thanks for the video

I used to have a Colt Huntsman back in the 70’s. A hunting friend of mine bought it but didn’t like it. I shot it a few times and loved it. He wanted a .357 magnum Smith and Wesson. So I bought from him for what he paid for it, $125. About 1986 I changed jobs and went through some very lean months and had to sell it. I hated to sell it. It was so accurate that I used to try to light matches with it. I was never able to do it but never blamed the gun. I could hit the match stem but could not light it. I would give nearly anything to have a Colt Huntsman or a Woodsman today!

Carried a Woodsman sport model on my parent`s 100 acre farm for plinking and hiking. Still have it and shoot it. Great guns. .

Does anyone know where I could get a magazine for my huntsman. It is from the 1950s or 1960s.

I've shot a woodsman and the slide can come back and tear your hand while you shoot. In an emergency situation you have to be mindful of how you grip it.
