    Excellent video. I dropped my slide and the recoil spring popped out. It was a P.I.A. to get back in and locked. I followed your video and everything went very smooth. Mine is a Targetsman made in 1942. It tore down and went back together just as your video explained. Thank you for an excellent video!!!

    I bought my Huntsman in '71. I lost the simple guide that came with it decades ago. It still runs flawlessly. Condition is99% with blueing gone at the muzzle from holster wear. My wife took a safety course years ago with that pistol and the RO offered her $500 for it. Thank for the mental refresher!

    I have this pistol and tried to do the same thing and the leaf spring popped out, how the actual HELL did you get that back in there??? I can get it lined up but it just wont stay! Also if I get it in, when I am putting the back part back on, when you tit it back where is the skinny thing on the leaf spring suppose to go? You brushed over it SO fast with terminology I have no clue where its suppose to "fall back" to. Also if I cant get my firearm back together, where should I bring it.

    The most important step: Get the recoil pin all the way up into the housing and locked in with the flat spring in the slide. If you can see the spring, you can't reassemble.

    The only tip I would add to this video, is that you need to have the hammer all the way forward and just pushing up on it doesn't put it in the right spot. You need to push up or let gravity do it while pulling the trigger. I by no means had any other experience of disassembly prior to this video however that is one tip that would have saved me a few rewinds.

  • @workthetrigger

    @workthetrigger

    Жыл бұрын

    Not a big fan of disassembling pistols with anything in the chamber. innert or not. As much as I work with pistols, mostly assembled, I have a hard fast rule of "nothing in the chamber while working" with them. If I swap back and forth during design, disassembly, etc. then I may become complacent with seeing something in the chamber, and nobody needs a desk pop. with center fire guns, it's completely unneccessary. with .22, damaging the firing pin or rim face is just a risk you take if you're working on/with them.

I was gifted one of these by my grandfather as a gift for graduating high school and after disassembling this for preliminary cleaning, I couldn't reassemble it and it got to the point where it needed to be taken to a gunsmith to get it reassembled.
