I definitely had a similar, slightly mixed reaction to reading Through the Woods, but loved the darker elements. I love it when you read an ebook or a library book and then want to buy it, the last time that happened to me was with the Sandman graphic novels, which I read earlier this year, and bought more recently.

yeah that's one of her books. This book is a sequel to "Midnight: a gangster love story" and "Midnight and the Meaning of Love" with the same main character. I actually never read the other two but I've always wanted to. Never been a gangster love story type of girl but I think it would be less about that and more about how a Black man in America with values still mixed up in the game while trying to protect the ones he loves. The synopsis was interesting.

I had the opposite reaction to Cinder! I read it earlier this year and was just really...underwhelmed : / (and the prince annoyed me SO much, good grief) So I read spoilers for Scarlett, Cress and Winter, and called it a day. Only things I read in November were *checks goodreads* were What Was She Thinking/Notes on a Scandal, which was really good, 2 graphic novels- Lumberjanes and Rat Queens (both of which I loved) and Carry On by Rainbow Rowell (which I MORE than loved). All I'm reading in December is My True Love Gave To Me edited by Stephenie Perkins and then I'm re-reading all my favourite, 5 star books from this year! I want to savour them while I can because my 2016 tbr is already thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis long lol.

I know this is so off topic, but what color is your hair? I absolutely love this color, it's beautiful 😃

+Danielle R. Thank you! ^_^ It isn't one color; my hairstylist went in with a highlight and balayage technique and then toner. :)

Lunar chronicles is a great series but are you going to continue the throne of glass series?

+b2eazy55 I am most definitely continuing with the Throne of Glass series. I still have a bit to wait in the library queue for the ebook. Hopefully I will bring myself up to speed in that series in January. :)

I didn't enjoy Through The Woods as much a I had hopped, but I can see how they're re-readable! I still liked it. (I hate any part of me hanging off of the bed... I freak myself out more than anything haha & I totally do that looking whilst washing my face too xD) I hope to start the Lunar Chronicles after Christmas! Oh and I have The Silkworm... I hear you don't have to read A Cuckoo's Calling first as they're not directly linked, but my source may be unreliable. :P Great wrap-up Ameriie! I'd love for you to check out my wrap-up, if you get the chance. :3

I disagree with you about Cinder and Scarlet. Especially Scarlet. They do mention that rape would be what's expected in her situation. Ran says at one point that he would have raped her if he wasn't so disgusted with her. That's the whole point: they are so disgusted with Earthens that they wouldn't take advantage of her even when they have the opportunity.

I recently finished reading Winter and it was amazing! I read Fairest before Cress and it gave me a lot of insight of cuckoo Levana. I actually wanted to let you know I tagged you in the Original Shatter Me Tag I made here and wanted to let you know: m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/p3x_lNmRppXgnLg.html Scarlet was a bit slow for me, but sped up quite fast as it progressed.

You should read Fairest before you read Winter, it really puts more insight into Lavana! :) I can't wait to get into Winter, Cress has been my fav so far!! I really want to read Mistborn so bad!

+Brittni's Book Find I definitely shall! And I really hope Mistborn goes well because it seems like such a rich series to get into. :)
