MARCH WRAP-UP
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
It's my March Wrap-up! I read some fantastic books this month, including a classic. Plus I ended up DNF'ing a book with a great premise (so my DNF may have been due to mood), and also had a spoilery-declamation moment (don't worry, I warn you before the spoiler). How was your reading month?

Definitely agree with the reading order for ToG, I reread the first book around the same time as AB and loved the prequels so much more - I loved seeing her kick some butt!

+Little Book Owl so far the prequels are my favorite, but I intend to get to Heir of Fire this month. :)
Got MORE HAPPY THAN NOT on ebook a little while ago, looking forward to reading it even more now- maybe I'll bump it up on the TBR. For March, though, I read THE FISHERMEN by Chigozi Obioma. Loved it. Such a wise, touching tale. Reminded me of a parable, in a way. I'm working my way through McBride's GOOD LORD BIRD. I would have been finished, but I went on vacation and forgot the book at home. However, my vacation rental was filled with books, and I managed to read James Baldwin's THE FIRE NEXT TIME and Nora Ephron's I REMEMBER NOTHING and I FEEL BAD ABOUT MY NECK, all of which I enjoyed immensely.
I think I had very similar feelings about Count of Monte Cristo. I looooved it for like the first half, but that ending was so, I don't want to say disappointing but it really threw me off. But I do appreciate the fact that the Count ends up becoming this unlikeable character who doesn't make the noble choice since he is basically messed up from his wrongful prison sentence.

+rincey reads Such an...*interesting* ending. Nnenna and I were trying to figure out just what Dumas was trying to say about vengeance and morality because the message seems so contradictory in the end.
I'm interested in The Count of Monte Cristo now! It's not a book I ever thought I'd pick up, but I'll have to revaluate that- sounds like a good chunky read. This is the second classic book this year that's gone from something I didn't think I'd want to read to something I do because of booktube! Great Wrap up!

+A Hermit's Progress thank you! And whoo hoo! ^_^ Hope you like it; it's certainly a chunker, though it doesn't feel as long as it looks.
Wink, poppy, midnight sounds like a good one. I'm excited to pick it up next time I go book shopping :)
I love the cover of Wink Poppy Midnight. I already had it on my TBR and I'm going to take your advice and go into as blind as possible when I do pick it up! About that spoilery bit: We've already talked about this, but yes, why is Mercedes so thoroughly punished?? I got the overwhelming sense that the rest of her life was going to be miserable, and I don't think she deserved that at all! And when she tells The Count how she intends to spend the rest of her life, he's like, "Really? Cool, ok. Bye!" Ahahaha, I loved when you called Haydee "a little tender." 😂
Love your wrap ups. They're always so on point. Will definitely be picking up More Happy Than Not.
I bought More Happy Than Not and I never hot around to reading it, but I need to!!!
Er ist wieder da (Look Who's Back)! Yes. Reading it right now. Love the humor in it so far. I hope I won't come to a point where it was a bit too much as you had.
Crown of Midnight is actually my favorite book in the series, but The Assassin's Blade is a close second! I read The Assassin's Blade right after I read Heir of Fire, so I agree, the series does get better and better!

Thanks A for the spoiler warning and the on-screen notes, That was great!
Regarding the Throne of Glass Series, I really loved Heir of Fire. I'm curious to see what you think about it!
your so pretty ameriie !! and love your channel
Oh my goodness I can't wait to find out what you think of Heir of Fire and Queen of Shadows when you get to them! Amazing series, just gets better and better and better. Have you picked up SJM's other book series - A Court of Thorns and Roses? If not, giiiiiiiiirl do it! :)
Your wrap ups are so gooooood!!!! 😊😬

I was on Amazon as I was watching this video. I kept pausing to add books to my cart! I blame you for how much money I will be spending! haha GREAT list of books you read! I always want to read classics, but I also don't want to be bored. I might need to give Monte Cristo a try! And Wink Poppy Midnight has such a BEAUTIFUL cover!!! Awesome video!

I've been trying to ready Throne of Glass for sooooooo long now! I'm going to get Assassins Blade right now! Hopefully this helps!
I generally hate telling in stories, but some authors do it SO well. Take Dickens for example. The way he tells in GE is so entertaining and lively that I really don't mind. However, I do know some people who loathe him, haha. Anyway, thanks for this review as always, Ameriie! I got my hands on an absolutely gorgeous edition of TCOMC: Hardcover, Clothbound, 1276 pages Published November 29th 2012 by Penguin Classics You might like it for your beautiful collection!

+Literally Tara Yes, please begin with TAB! I think it can make a huge difference in how one likes the series/wants to continue, etc.
I read "Look who is back" in German a long while ago and it just might be a story that looses its "greatness" with the translation. All of my friends who read it and I absolutely loved it! But we are German speakers and I am sure I would not have liked it nearly as much would I have read it in English. Having said that, it is hillarious. Its written in such a witty style given the very "dangerous" terrain that he is writing about. Plus having a knowledge of the people who "he" worked with is probably a must to understand the book completely. A shame you didnt finish it! I blame the "it just cant be translated" aspect.
@Amerie.
8 жыл бұрын
+Cornelia Voelker The wittiness did come across and was quite funny, and I did catch historical references, but unfortunately there was so much time spent on the "fish out of water" aspect/setup that I lost interest before the story could really get going. I may give it another go one day, though--perhaps just jump to page 100 or 115 or so and begin from there. Glad you loved it! ^_^
I'm so pleased you read the count of monte Cristo I really enjoyed it but also agree on the writing style making it difficult to feel for the characters as much as I would have liked. I'm halfway through the three musketeers at the moment and not enjoying it half as much. Great wrap up as always :)
@Amerie.

+Elena Reads Books (ereadsbooks) thank you! And sorry to hear THREE MUSKETEERS isn't as much fun. I'm currently reading SIX OF CROWS by Leigh Bardugo and I can't put it down--read nearly half of it today. The most pure fun I've had reading a novel in ages. Perhaps you'll like...?

I was eyeing The Throne of Glass series last night and am happy to hear the suggestion to begin with The Assassin's Blade. And I was super, super thrilled to hear in your Snap that you're working on something music-related. The suspense! I had an All I Have moment this weekend and think I'll have a BILI moment today ;o)

Hi Amerie, I will definitly read Assasin blade series... And give a try the bio of Le Compte De MontéChristo. 💙📚

+MajestueuseLouisa Yay! And yes, I must do so! I do love biographies, and it's been on my tbr quite a while, now.
I was in a mini-slump and dnf'd so many books but I read the Wrath and the Dawn, and I also read The Winner's Kiss, which I was seriously contemplating not reading/spoiling myself for (because I hated the Winner's Crime SO much) but I ended up giving it 5/5 stars on goodreads lol. Now I'm stuck in tbr limbo because like you, I'm too moody to make one so I'm re-reading The Raven Cycle for a tumblr read-a-long because The Raven King comes out on April 26th (I hope you find time to read that, this month. It's my one TBR non-negotiable) And as always it comes out the same day as The Wrath and the Dawn's sequel so I just have to go live under a rock so I can avoid spoilers for both.
@Amerie.

Books Beauty Ameriie I will let you know :)
I read Throne of Glass first and didn't like it so much because of Celaena. She was so full of herself but wouldn't show her " jaw-dropping abilities". It's as you said. Then I started The Assassins Blade and couldn't pass chapter 2. Celeana was even fuller of herself! So arrogant and annoying... Ugh. I couldn't care less about her. I do love Chaol and Dorian though. They are the reason I'm continuing the series :) PS: I dislike Rowan too. (I suppose you know about him)
So glad I found your channel! This is so cool and happy to have a role model that has a brain and uses it! lol. God bless!

Hey beautiful I got a good question that I would like to ask you: How many books 📚 you planning on reading?
Had to turn the volume all the way down on The Count part, I have the book and didn't read it yet.
I also got stuck in the middle of the Count of Monte Cristo, I pretty much had the same experience but my version wasn't abridged so it might not be just because of that. I still haven't been able to finish it though :(
@Amerie.

+Chloe Rose glad to know it wasn't just me! But whoa, yes, you tackled the full version! 😳
how long does it usually take you to finish reading one book?
Your wrap-ups are so great! Hmmm. I'm wishing that I had read The Assassin's Blade first... I have not yet read it. I just went straight into the series and I'm not loving it. I don't hate it at all, but there's something that just isn't grabbing me. I'm aaaaaalmost finished reading book 3. :-/

+SkinnyGirlFatHair Thank you! I think if I didn't read AB first, I may not have gotten past the first book. I developed such a love for the world in that book. But you are so far in, I'm not sure if it'll make much of a difference now...? Hmmm, I'd say still give it a go! Please let me know how it works for you and how you feel about the series if you do end up reading it!

I'm not going to lie: I'm lowkey fangirling right now. Lol! I've been a fan of yours since HS. Haha! Now that's out of the way... I am considering just pushing through and finishing the series. Like you said, I'm so far into it! I don't want to DNF it if I don't have to. Ugh! There are a couple of characters I really like (Manon and her wyvern are currently my favorites...) and I would like to know what happens to them. So... I won't give up yet. 😁😁
