Just finished The Girls and I cannot stop thinking about it, I loved it so much.

Your makeup in this video is so clean and flawless. And to pinpoint on what You said about reading books that feel as if You're reading a script, I say that so many times about the past books I read, so it's good to hear someone else that it too. I also wanted to say that I had no idea about BookTube until I saw You on The Breakfast Club and I always wanted to started a channel period. I'm so glad you loved Manon Blackbeak (it's blackbeak :P) She's my absolute favorite character and her chapters get even more interesting in Queen of Shadows! Everytime someone mentions that they skip the witches chapter I feel my soul shrivel a little bit..So pumped for the release of Empire of Storms though :D as for the Cursed Child, I loved the feelstrip it took me on, that dystopian timeline was definitely my favorite part, and I was so glad that Scorpius and Draco were written in such an amazing way. I agree though that it has many MANY flaws, but I enjoyed it nonetheless..I actually have always been a hard Harry/Hermione shipper, but reading Cursed Child was probably the first time ever that I though that Ron and Hermione can be cute together :P

I'm glad I subscribed! We have the same taste in books. I'm currently reading The Woman in Cabin 10 and I recently finished Dark Matter (absolutely loved it btw). I'm going to give The Library at Mount Char a try.

Never heard of Drown. The Little Mermaid is my favorite fairytale, so I'll definitely give that book a try. I'm reading Dark Matter right now, but I'm not very far into it, so I don't really have an opinion yet.

The Girls is one that I've wanted to read all summer, but I haven't gotten to it yet. I'm hoping I can pick it up before the end of the year, and it might be nice to read it a bit later after the hype has died down a little. I really like the cover of Drown and it sounds very intriguing. I love a good fairy tale retelling. I also want to read Dark Matter and The Woman in Cabin 10 because I've been hearing so much about them!

I finished Before The Fall this month, and was so disappointed! It was marketed as a mystery/ thriller but the bulk of it was more of a social commentary. By the end I didn't really care who or what had caused the plane to go down. I just downloaded The Girls through the library and I'm really looking forward to reading it! Also, love this lipstick on you! Do you remember what you were wearing?

+brooketini81 *nods* yes, I did get to the social commentary part, which I suppose I would've liked, but I didn't think I was hearing anything new or hearing what I already knew in a fresh way, like how Emma Cline articulated girlhood in THE GIRLS. Have you ever read Rosemary's Baby by Ira Levin? Read it last month and gave it four out of five stars. Very good and loved the atmosphere in it.

When you out a book on pause, what gets you back to reading it? For me, after a long time, I have to restart it so I am inclined to just pushing through to finish it once I've started

Dark Matter is a TV show so that may be why it reads in such a way. I am not sure if the TV show was made before the book.

Okay I see there is a tv show but it's based on a graphic novel and is about space/spaceships (?) so I think they only share the title but are different stories. But the author does write for tv (Fargo) so there's that aspect, which I think influences the writing. Speaking of SFF tv, have you seen STRANGER THINGS? It's amazing and I'm so ready for season 2.

In that case I'll buy the book because if I am honest, I do not like the show. Lol. No, but I have heard great things about Stranger Things but I didn't want to commit to another show. Now that you have given your recommendation I'll give it a watch this evening. :D

I feel the same way about The Girls so far.. I'm 40 pages in and honestly it's a little boring. This was mostly a cover buy, other than that I just knew it was about a cult. After watching this, I'm a lot more excited to keep reading and just get over the first 100 pgs.

I picked up My Lady Jane and I read one chapter and I am very unsure. It actually said "boy parts" like those actual words.... I am not sure I can get over that. It was a teenage boy's inner dialogue also....I just cant...
