If you look at the picture in ID, Christopher Lloyd (His dad) was the FBI guy not him.

Yeah I realised that was him in the photo when editing it back, I assume Hutch also followed in his dad's footsteps into the FBI, hopefully we find out more of his backstory in a sequel. Thanks for checking out the reaction!
The guy who directed this also directed Hardcore Henry, which is shot completely POV from the titular Henry. It's very different, but has the same kind of humor and some wild stunts.

His Dad was the same bad ass as him. If you look closely the Nursing home scene. When they came to kill him but he was ready. When the nurse-guy came to too and told him to turn down the volume... he lifts the remote while holding/choking the other one and you can see on his wrist in the remote controller hand the same tattoo. 7 of spades & 2 of diamonds. It is considered the worst dealt hand in poker and that is the meaning of the tattoo. When life deals you this hand.... you are fucked .....

@10:34 The FBI badge says, "David Mansell" (Christopher Lloyd), not "Hutch Mansell". "Like father, like son", kind of. David Mansell (Christopher Lloyd) is a retired FBI Agent, and Hutch Mansell (Bob Odenkirk), his son, was a government assassin.

It's crazy how similar this movie is with John Wick even though they were released in theaters a month apart, so neither one could have influenced the other unless the scriptwriters were in the same room. I like how he takes a more realistic amount of battle wounds in this compared to Wick who faced more men that apparently didn't want to all charge him at the same time and just take him out.

The tattoo on his wrist of two cards is of a 7-2 off-suit, also referred to as "the hammer." It's also considered one of the worst possible hands you can get in Poker (or, in a manner of speaking, the last hand you ever want to see).
@BAReactions
2 жыл бұрын
I saw that somewhere after filming my reaction, I think the hammer part is a stretch as there's about 200 nicknames for the 7 2, but I agree it's most likely symbolic of it being the last thing you want to see, as it's the worst hand in poker 100%. Yeah I was expecting it to be far more like John Wick in a lot of ways but through the stylistic choices for things like fight choreography, music and comedic tone it made it entirely it's own thing. But also would love to see Hutch & fam team up with John Wick at some point, would be epic.

@@hilaryc3203 yeah John wick has a sad start, but all good revenge movies need to justify the warpath ahead lol. They are great movies I love but definatley are more about their action choreography than their humor, but if you enjoyed the action elements of nobody then John wick might win you over.
the Russian gangster hit with the hospital chair was the film's fight choreographer - he was also the fight coordinator for John Wick. Quick to judge are we, calling him a pussy for not protecting his home. How would the son feel if he helped his father "protect" their home and one of the desperate robbers died, not something a young teenager needs to have to deal with the rest of their lives, unless they are a psychopath and would get off on killing someone.

@@BAReactions Drive, 2011, starring Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston. It has a great soundtrack. If you are interested in it, do not watch the trailer. At the cinema, some people walked out and demanded their money back because they thought it would be similar to the Fast and Furious franchise. It has a quiet feel to it, given that it is mostly a crime movie, with some car action scenes.

Super good review, one of the best I’ve heard. I actually teach self-defense and I’ve done recovery missions and such myself. Is a teenager in the 70s we would go into LA California or Long Beach where I used to fight and watch Bruce Lee at the theaters and such. Just a random piece of history. So I don’t mind all the bad language kind of stuff, but, taking God‘s name in vain is not something that goes unpunished so I would just stick with the cussing and very good commentary.
