My jobs take like 45 minutes to 1 and a half hours. All I have to do is clean the bathroom and the counter by the coffee machine and sometimes the shelves, I have to look at the coolers and if they are empty (they never were yet) I have to restock them and I have to slide all of the boxes of alcohol forwards, then I have to count the cigarettes and write down the amounts of each row, then I have to go in the bathroom and fix the toilet if it is broken and won’t flush, it takes like 15 seconds to fix it, then at 12:00 I have to sign out of the terminal and also I have to safe drop all of the money in the register and leave $100, then I have to sign back in at 12:05, so from 12:00 to 12:05 no one can buy anything besides gas, then at 6AM my coworker gets here and I have to safe drop again and then shift change, then I go in the back and take 4 garbage bags and go outside and change the garbage bags if they are like half filled or more, then I have to change the 4 small inside garbage bags which are never filled. That’s literally all I have to do, I also have to remember to stop selling alcohol after midnight. The gas station I work at is so much smaller than yours, it’s tiny, like as small as a gas station can be. Should I do a tour of mine?

The petrol station job. How classic
@Jake38nine2 ай бұрын
I don't know. I've worked day shifts in a gas station that had a kitchen. Everything was disorganized and when I was put on kitchen, I'd be the only one taking care of ALL the food AND dishes and cleaning. It was terrible to the point I had panic/anxiety attacks, which caused me to quit. Cashier is nice. Stocking gives me anxiety when there's no organization standard to anything. If all you do at night is some stocking and cleaning as tasks while cashiering, I don't think it would be that bad. I wouldn't take it for granted. But I understand some people need the busy work to keep them focused and give themselves something to do. But I'm at the point in my life that any of that busy work that causes anxiety/panic attacks could lead to heart attacks. And the job I worked at didn't care how sick you were, they would work you to death and give you nothing for it. So I'd rather avoid that. I'm a workaholic and put in way too much effort, and then I just get taken advantage of. I have NO IDEA how other people can get away with being lazy or messy and not doing their job or cleaning up after themselves and being able to leave when their shift is supposed to be over. It may be because I'd just come in and clean up after people, but I don't think I had a choice either. So I'm currently looking for a night shift job that isn't micromanaged. My heart can't take it.

we dont pay it but we record that cars license plate and report it to the police. if that car ever comes again the cameras automatically set off an alarm we were supposed to look at the person filling their cars to see if they looked shady or something then stop the fuel pump if they're looking around nervously or wearing a hoody

@HidingInMyRoom1989

Yeah thats why someone always needs to be behind the cash register. The customers have to pay in the store. Sometimes people take the fuel then just drive off without paying. We write their car number plate in a book and enter it on the camera system so next time they come a warning siren rings.
@Naturenerd1000
6 жыл бұрын
Interesting. That makes a lot of sense now. Someone needs to log and verify the gas pump. Sounds rough with how many people steal gas and goods. Would have a difficult time dealing with that. How many theft cases did you stop? Since the license plates are logged do they get a bill in the mail or the police are on the look out for them?
@HidingInMyRoom1989
6 жыл бұрын
I didn’t stop any because you can’t really tell if they’re going to drive off or not. We never called the police about it because they won’t really do anything for such a small amount of money. They would just get away with it unless they come back to the petrol station with the same car.

Nights are so frustrating especially at the gas station! I have felt that! Government sucks! They need to return all of our money in the tax. Low wages- high stress. Dealing with weird customers. Doctors and nurses job night shift is a way different than night shifts in gas station and store. Man
So much cooler than my job at a gas station, tbf mostly because you were alone
ask if you can do different shifts so you don't have to work with him :)
Lmao Daniels cat gagging is just part of his social experiment
Now look at you Daniel, you have a beautiful wife, a new and bigger apartment and you got a better full time job KZread !! Proud of u

The descriptions say "don't tell my boss", but he did. Kind of funny

were there any shop's rules against surfing the web or reading the book when the shop's empty? you could even do some kind of freelance job at the time.

I missed the morning walk vlogs :) the petrol station is pretty nice
I work on pizzeria as a night shift with some animatronics trying to kill me
Stoopid Yellow Machine had me cracking up
I loved this video. Although I understand why you were nervous. :/ Feels risky
2:02 That 'stupid yellow machine' is a paypoint machine from the dark ages! Lol! I remember those from YEARS ago! We got an upgrade to a paypoint machine that was actually easy to use, lol.

Classic daniel, 6 years later, and he's still complaining
wow didn't know there are spar stores in the united kingdom, we have them here in south Africa, where they're the only supermarkets that open for 24hrs. ours do not serve as gas stations though
When ever a cat does that it’s usually trying to cough up a furball
idk why youtube just recommended me this video
"More customers... can't they just go home?" I... I think that may be what they're attempting to do.
Fuck this is epic. Is this still in the UK?
The petrol station job. How classic
My heart can't take it.
how come it's open nights, the garage opposite me always closes at 11pm
Job seems so chill.
My goodness when i was night worker i always had things to do.
You have snickers in UK too I see.

I have a kitchen porter job that isn’t the best job, can be tiring. However at least I’m not bored doing nothing at the job. The petrol station job must’ve sucked.

Is it true that if a "customer" drives off from a filling station without paying for petrol, the staff have to pay and if so what are you supposed to do to stop them?
@HidingInMyRoom1989

we dont pay it but we record that cars license plate and report it to the police. if that car ever comes again the cameras automatically set off an alarm we were supposed to look at the person filling their cars to see if they looked shady or something then stop the fuel pump if they're looking around nervously or wearing a hoody
Damn i miss this

Wait every time someone gets gas you have to press a button? So if no ones there inside no one can get gas? I thought it was just automatic once you paid.
@HidingInMyRoom1989

Yeah thats why someone always needs to be behind the cash register. The customers have to pay in the store. Sometimes people take the fuel then just drive off without paying. We write their car number plate in a book and enter it on the camera system so next time they come a warning siren rings.
@Naturenerd1000

@HidingInMyRoom1989

I didn’t stop any because you can’t really tell if they’re going to drive off or not. We never called the police about it because they won’t really do anything for such a small amount of money. They would just get away with it unless they come back to the petrol station with the same car.
I miss this lol
Is there a spar in japan? Wow😮
Do you feel scared working there
You look like Leon starting his first night shift lol.
Was at grandparents for a bit out west, was nice to get away from the internet. im back now though, don't think i'll go to japan now, people kept telling me not to go at grinding down my spirit. Might go India now
