    Very surprised to see the Honda not get in the top 4. Congratulations to the winners but I would like to know the negative on why the last 4 didn't do so well.

    I own a 2012 Sonata and I recently drove a 2015 Sonata. Big difference. The 2015 steers better and the ride is so much more compliant. Much bigger back seat too which is important to me because I'm 6'3".

    Motorweek reviewed New Sonata a few weeks ago and called it solid but no fun due to 9 sec 0-60 time. How did Sonata win this comparison? One reviewer even called it 'quick.' I guess I have to test drive it find out.

    I Rented a Hyundai sonata to drive from Pennsylvania to Florida Last February. And i hated it the ride was shity road noise was horrendous the seat hurt my ass after 2 hours and with the cruise control set at 70 mile s an hour we barely got 28 miles to gallon. My Old accord get 34 mpg highway ..the only thing I liked about the car was the satellite radio that's .it was a 20 hour ride of hell

    Lol no that's just the older ones...what like Kia or Hyundai don't have any recalls? ? All manufacturers have recalls . I buy cars I Don't lease them and I keep them for 10 + years my 2 Honda's have 200,000+ and they still run good and get better mpg than a new sonata yeah they may not have all the little creature comforts that the new cars have but Kia and Hyundai don't last as long as honda cars.

    I still don't care. I will never buy one of you crappy ass cars.i have drove them and there not the best cars out. there electric power steering blows there cheap and they Don't hold up over time. Everything is nice when it's new give ..and i don't care what the review say .I do my own personal review on what I like and don't like. Hyundai and Kia have come a long way but there's still a long way off in reliability and overall quality.

    The brand new 200 looks the most luxurious and the interior is magnificent. I was recently a passenger in the S model and the suspension is a bit stiff, but after a week I had gotten use to it. I understand why it didn't have a better rank because it's not a family sedan.

    I have say that I my self was once someone who did not like Hyundai but after doing my research and test driving a 2014 Hyundai Sonata I switched and bought a turbo Sonata and I love it. All of the other cars are great but the price and value is a big plus. Also after looking through driver feedback and consumer reports it showed that Hyundai has made a big uptick in the quality in their vehicles. I let the evidence speak for itself. People feed back is a big indicator of the product and that for now shows to be good and reliable.

    In the last year, I have rented a new 4cyl Camry SE twice and I think I understand why it's coming at or near the back of these comparos. The interior has too many "switch blanks" scattered around the dash. The hard plastics on the door panel and dash are signs of cost cutting. I also didn't like the fake half pleather/half mesh seat quality, albeit the seats themselves were comfortable over a 700 mile trek. Even in "SE" trim, the car was lacking satellite radio, LED running lights, a grab handle for the trunk lid, heated seats, or illuminated vanity mirrors. I also found the non HID projector headlights to be weak and the engine, while quiet in routine driving, was under-powered and struggled on inclines even with just myself in the car. I can't imagine how bad it would be with 5 passengers and their luggage going up any interstate grade. My choice of these cars would be a Mazda 6 , or Legacy.

    What goes for the Hyundai Sonata will also go for the Kia Optima. (I prefer the Kia Models, better and sportier interior, better ride) I am surprised about the Mazda 6 placing 4th and the Ford Fusion, Toyota Camry, and Honda Accord not placing at all.

  • @davidaubin3902
    @davidaubin39029 жыл бұрын

    Wow! Camry got 10th place, thats very disappointing, I guess most of the judges didn't like its bold styling. As for Honda Accord, 8th place?? Im guessing they didn't care for most of the buttons on the dash cause it didnt have a nav system, or they didnt like the ride quality, which is strange cause Accords are very quiet usually on the road. Now I understand the Sonata got 1st place, value and a lot of features for the money, but if the limited's price was a bit lower, with nav you'd get luxary touches for under 30 grand. Still I don't care for the styling it isn't as dynamic as the last gen, and more steering feel would be welcomed.

    In conclusion, the cars that sell well made to the bottom of the list, and the ones that don't sell well made it to the top of the list. I wish the Subaru Legacy was number one with the best reliability, Boxer engine, and Symmetrical AWD, but second place isn't bad. Usually cars that don't sell well tend to have higher quality interiors and more features. Consumer Reports would also agree with these rankings of mid-sized family sedans.

    Subaru just sold 500k cars. They are all the same shit. Same engine, same transmission , same platform, give or take a few inches. Reliability remains to be seen. Personally I don't trust em anymore. They went from 100k a year to 500k a year in just 5 years. So, they are probably cutting corners. I liked them when they made 100k a year, because back then workers had time to check their work. Now they probably don't have time to piss. So you imagine the quality will go downhill, just like Toyota's.

    Y10Q Subaru makes smart investments and keeps their lineup small. Unlike the Toyota which has to keep new cars pumping out to satisfy investors, Subaru uses the same interior for outback/legacy and impreza/crosstrek. Their dollars are spent wisely in order to gain market share. I know Fuji Industries owns toyota and subaru but their business plan is very different. If you ever owned a subaru you'd know what you're missing

    I prefer the Mazda 6 myself. To me, it's the best looking, and I believe it ties the Altima as the most fuel efficient gasoline non-hybrid. Have to give credit to Subaru for the their decent MPG with all wheel drive. The new Sonata looks too plain compared to the previous car, but it does appear to have an attractive interior.

    +greathey1234 This why Mitsubishi is just about dead as a brand. They killed off the only exciting car in the line up the Evo! Subaru is amazing, but their interior still needs to catch up especially in the infotainment where they still kind of suck. I had a WRX, and a Legacy GT. Loved them both, but the Factory radio etc. were junk. Most fun I ever had in a long time were those 2 cars. Hyundai, and Kia are quality, but also underdogs compared to the known big names.

    I can never figure out why the camry always sells so well. Toyota's reliability has been nothing but down hill since the cost cutting starting around 2000. Toyota has not made a good car since the supra and LS400 of the 90's.

    ***** Hyundai is still a nothing brand though, nothing prestigious about a Hyundai badge, I find it comical people spend close to $60,000 for their top of the range models, they are not a luxury brand and never will be. They really are not a very innovative company as well, they have given the auto industry basically no major innovation they just basically try to copy others and under cut in price and it works I'll give them that, but it does not mean I respect them.

  • @ossimjew

    Andy Irish I'll tell you now my father bought a 2013 es350 brand new last April of 2013. I drove it twice, I've owned lexus before, I had a 92 ls400 great car best Toyota ever made. This so called lexus was so cheaply made it was pathetic. The body panels were of some very cheap sheet medal which the last straw for my father before he sold it was when he was washing it and the hood popped in on him and he was hardly applying any force. If you regulary service any car it will last many miles, especially since I'm assuming the 40,000km was mostly highway miles which really are not hard on the car at all. As for fuel economy, I have to say toyota is really lagging behind most american makes, my company car is a 2014 chevy Malibu with the 2.5l ecotec and I must say it may not be the fastest engine but it is the most fuel efficient car I have ever owned. Sitting in traffic the start stop feature really keeps my average mpg's high even though I get free gas on it.

  • @ossimjew

    @ossimjew

    9 жыл бұрын

    Andy Irish But the funny thing is GM has some of the longest lasting highest millage cars on the road. The suburban has the highest average millage of any other car on the road, my aunt had a suburban see would drive all over the country and got over 300,000 miles out of it. Don't tell me you don't see tons of 20+ year old fleetwoods, suburbans, blazers and other chevy trucks, they are everywhere in my town they last. people like to also bring up GM's recalls but I distinctly remember toyota taking heat a few years ago over random acceleration that caused some deaths as well. The 2008 cadillac STS I have has been very relaibe it just turned over 50,000 miles grant it, it is not my daily driver it may of had some minor problems but it has never failed to start. No car is perfect, every car I ever owned had things I did not like, even the LS400 I though had some cheap materials inside and the brakes would fade going down big mountains. Now performance and the toyota of now do not go together. They have not made a true sports car since the supra (the spider was a disgrace), for jap performance I'd go honda any day, more top end excitement and better power, I have a 2011 acura MDX as well that I love the 300HP 3.7L it is a true beast it will destroy an rx350 any day. My mailbu is not top trim since it is a fleet car but I did get a few options, partial leather seats, grey plastic wood stuff(actually looks really nice) and a touch screen with back up cam. I just feel as though toyota really has not been innovating much, you do have to admit the new malibu is quite an innovative car, were as the new camry was just mostly a redesign.
