    I have to say this aunt has truly been a great opportunity for me after playing a variety of marshals and other amps for many years 35 years into my playing experience I picked up the amplifier, and for the last couple of years have just had an amazing experience experimenting with it at home it has been a great amplifier and taking sounds from it into rehearsal and local gigs. It has just been an amazing amazing opportunity for me to develop new ideas. This is an artist platform. In my opinion I have actually had an effect loop added to mine by an amp technician, and also by doing that what I actually did was have a tube band expander wired into the amplifier, giving me the ability to obviously do a lot more with it, because I was enjoying the sound so much I wanted to take it out and do some shows and felt like I needed a little more volume but it is definitely a great amplifier and a great opportunity for any guitarist willing to spend the money and they come used at a reasonable price to Enjoy. Cheers thanks again Sean, if you had 10% of the money that you had sold me items on you would not have to play guitar anymore and neither would I lol. 6:30

    Man dude. That amp has a great growl to it. Just "that" sound we keep looking for. I had a 50 watt jcm800 from about 1986,the 2 channel beauty it was, and foolishly let it go. This amp has some of that AND some Voxy kind of character to me. How could you go wrong! Thx buddy,as always.

    Thanx for this kind of great Vids. I can not decide myself between the PR12 and the MVP23. What would you think? Is it more important to get the fantastic Reverb in it and work for Overdrive Tones with Pedals or make it more sense to have the Powerscaling on board? Unfortunately I have no dealer for Morgan amps here in my area and have to order based on KZread informations. Best regards Micha

    I totally agree with all the applauding...as always great reviews from you Shawn... Only meant as a friendly tip, you could match the amp volume better to your mic (talking) In this video your voice is a lot lower than the guitar sounds (that sounds awesome!) You get what i mean...keep up the great work From Copenhagen /Martin

    Not a ton of demos of this amp, but none of them sound this good. Even the official Josh Smith video has the amp sounding super ratty. The tones you get out of this are crystal clear and tight. I even did a double take when I saw the cab being mic'd, because I was sure you were running through an IR loader. Great job, this may have sold me on one (when Morgan starts shipping amps again).

    And don't get me wrong, it's better be that way. Playing guitar is also your job (for me, it's just a passion and a hobby at best). So it's perfectly normal. But it's not only about that, it's about how someone can express himself/herself through the guitar. What could be depressing is actually to see through someone else how great it could be when someone master this art... plenty time I'd try things, but the result isn't there (yet?) so I realize that I can't even imagine the whole potential of pleasure we can get when we can make it work and when it sounds just great. Generally people don't miss what they don't they're missing... however, it's way different when one becomes aware of what he/she's missing. I'm not sure I explain it well thought... So on the moment, yeah, it could be depressing... but then, it's also a good motivation to push myself to practice more. So thank you Shawn!

    +Still Supro Who said I don't practice? I play 2 to 3h a day... but it has nothing to do with that. To me, the bad attitude would be: "Gosh, I'm so good...". Just think about that :)

  • @ShawnTubbs

    The MVP 23 is really more along the lines of an American voiced amp. For the Jimi tones I would look at a more British voiced amp.

    Sounds killer but how does this amp not have an effects loop?

  • @ShawnTubbs

    @ShawnTubbs

    3 жыл бұрын

    It really depends on the builder, but from what I've learned is that sometimes, if there's a good amount of natural power amp breakup, an effects loop won't be as effective because the return signal to the power section is overdriving thus making delays and reverbs sound a bit out of control. Some builders also just prefer not to have any sort of "loop" between the pre and power.

  • @jaymontana2848

    @jaymontana2848

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@ShawnTubbs thanks! that makes sense but I also wonder about putting a reverb or delay in front of the amp and getting the amp to breakup after. Isn’t that a no no? I see amps like the Suhr Badger with power scaling and a loop. Also the Badcat Cub amps so it makes me wonder.

  • @ShawnTubbs

    @ShawnTubbs

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@jaymontana2848 The amp can break up a little before it's an issue. When the amp is actually overdriven it can become a problem.

    Hi Shawn, gotta say that I'm not a fan of your new wide screen video presentation style. It might look OK on your big wide monitor, but on my ipad it's harder to see what's happening as the interesting bit is so much smaller with a lot of wasted screen at the top and bottom. How am I gonna rip off your licks if I can't see 'em? 😁

    I really dis-like the look of that thing. I don't like grey, Don't like the logo, don't like the square shape of it. Don't like the stripey ply look. Eugh. But MAAAAANNN does it sound good!!! EVERYHTING you put through it just sounds EPIC. I've heard it on other videos as well, and because I know how tones translate through my PC speakers I know this sounds better than virtually all the amps I've heard recently. I really want one.

    I had this amp for a short period of time and I disliked, that the there was quite some fizz or buzzing on top of the notes when you cranked the power amp (and no, changing tubes didn't help). Funny, that I can't hear it anywhere on your demo.
