I like how he looks at his training and prep for competition. He doesn't need brand new luxurious equipment with calibrated weights, Eleiko or Rogue stuff, etc. He comes to the competitions and nearly beats guys who invested so much into training equipment. All he needs to do is growing his static strength and that's all. And actually it's more about back and legs strength, because his shoulder strength is fine. And I don't think that he's gonna put more weight on his body. A weight is a weight - doesn't matter if it's calibrated or not.

I was about to say, chest biceps shoulders pressing, he’s one of the strongest in the game right now... maybe only Hafthor ahead of him

It will again be a good generation for strongman. Stoltman, Licis, Mateusz and you know what, even Adam Bishop is getting miles better each year. Thrown in the older greats that just keep coming back each year to make sure the younger guys don't get complacent and it's gonna be another great decade for strongman. Where Kieliszkowski is king.

I really hope he can stay relatively healthy, such a beast

He will be unbeateable one day.. Just the deadlift stoping him that glory

@@wombatonsteroids faceless ha ha.. I use to see that show he was undefeated but he is not good enough to teach mateusz.. I think mateusz himeslf lifted gr8 this arnold 2020. 430kg i think.. Faceless never lifted that much

@@gautamgiri4991 he liftet 420 at WUS in Dubai. It was less at the Arnold's. But you shouldn't forget that The faceless is more than 35 kilo lighter

@@fabiank485 But he had a lat injury at the Arnold's and the deadlift in WUS was suited too whereas Arnold doesnt allow suits. So he's improving all the time.

Mateusz will definitely go down in strongman history as one of the best pressers in the world. His upper body strength is insanely powerful. One of my all time favorites. 💯💯💯

Yeah, he compensates in pulling events with upper body, dont use his legs :D pound for pound probably strongest of all time

Very happy to see the recent videos from Mateusz. Thank you for posting this. Straight to the point, all info, and humility while being super strong. Also like the training conditions... the bare necessities for strongman, no chrome, no foo-foo equipment, no nutritionist... just hard work and dedication. Nice to see.

Agreed, assuming WSM does actually still happen this year. If he keeps working on his deadlift and can get that up, he's going to be a viscous well-rounded athlete. Last I saw he was getting training instruction from Seba Kot/The Faceless, who's a very successful Polish powerlifter and has a pretty gnarly deadlift himself, so Mateusz is definitely heading in the right direction.

So often people say that Mateusz works with faceless and get from him advices to improve deadlift. Its not true. Kieliszkowski many times said that Kot trained with him just one time and after all Mateusz doesnt use any advice from Faceless.

No disrespect to Martins or Rob or anyone else of the younger strongmen...but...Mateusz I think is the next legend in strongman. First time I saw him, I was like...he's a bigger stronger version of Mariusz and has all the agility and balance. Dude is just bad ass.

That keg throw really got me

If he was born in America, he’d be one of the best d-ends in the nfl at like 285-300 lbs. Unlike most strongmen, he is a real top flight athlete.

Sorry for two comments to the same video, but this was great to watch. I almost felt bad for the implements! The loading training... the way he threw the keg over the bar... reminded me of the 1981 WSM when Kaz won (2nd time). Watch that loading event... one of the all-time WSM highlights (along with when Kaz doubled the winning silver dollar deadlift just to "show how easy it was"). Anyone notice that Mateusz never breaks his concentration, even when sniffing ammonia?

There's nothing wrong with the equipment. The only thing missing is the bling of a fancy gym which doesn't detract from progress.

If only he could deadlift... Imagine all the titles he would've won!

Its not true. 420 is really good result, not for top3 but in the middle of competition. 2 years ago Mateusz deadlifted like 380-390kg and that was bad result.
